  1. I just picked up this little thing, it's the Echo1 Bolt. It's perfect for CQB and since I've already had gear for an AK, it made sense to buy another AK for indoor/CQB fields and games. I was very satisfied with the performance that my Echo1 RD700 gave me at my last outdoor game, I feel the AK Bolt would be perfect for me. I'm not sure what I'm going to do paintjob wise, if at all. For the moment the gear setup works for the basics that I need. I managed to scrounge up enough parts from my leftover RS bin to finish the gun.
  2. My Banshee as I've run it for the past year before I settled for a FirstSpear Strandhogg. Overall the vest fully loaded weighs about 30lbs or so with mags, water, and armor. I still use it from time-to-time. The shoulder strap mod I made helps the vest perform a lot better than the factory buckles on the straps. This is a mod I did to my Banshee to fix the shouldering problems I encountered with the factory buckles. It was easier and more comfortable to shoulder a rifle with the shoulder straps being as low profile as possible. To accomplish this I cut off the plastic buckles and replac
  3. I use a "beercan grip" to grab my AR mags. My pistol mags I grab with a modified "beercan grip" with the exception that my index finger points towards the feedlips. For me I found it easier to reload pistol that way.
  4. Got lucky with a deal for a FirstSpear Strandhogg. The previous carrier I used was a Shellback Tactical Banshee, but I found the shoulder strap design to be detrimental with my style of shooting. Using the Strandhogg fixed that problem and it also feels very comfortable. To honestly describe the Strandhogg, I see it as a Banshee on steroids. The way my 2nd line is set-up corresponds to my 1st line. The vest carries the main essentials such as water, ammo, and a little room for storage. Since taking this picture I've added an admin and another HSGI TACO. On the back is an Emdom Vehi
  5. My updated 1st line. The vast majority of these pouches used to be on my 2nd line, but I've since transferred the pouches to lighten and streamline efficiency with my 2nd line. A note about the HSGI SureGrip belt pad, I find that removing the plastic insert gives you full use of the neoprene comfort pad. The plastic insert created hotspots on my hips. Without the plastic, the belt feels 100x's better than before. - HSGI double stack TACOs - BAE dump pouch (USMC issue) - Dark Angel Medical IFAK - TAG GP pouch - Safariland 6004 mounted on a MLS Fork - HSGI pistol TACO
  6. Thanks for the replies, guys/gals. I just ran my Banshee this weekend without the internal straps and just the cummerbund. Even weighted with ESAPI plates and side plates, the cummerbund held its own perfectly. Day by day I'm loving my Banshee more than my EI and TT plate carriers.
  7. Those of you who use a Banshee, do you use the internal buckles? Or do you just use the cummerbund to hold the vest snug?
  8. It's a handy pouch to carry a multi-tool, spare batteries, or lense covers. It's sold by Rifle Dynamics, although the pouch is made by HSGI.
  9. Painted my AK, too much black for my taste.
  10. The bracket is made my RS Regulate, I ordered mine form Brownells. I have since used it on my realsteel AK and now this AEG. It's a good way to simplify and lighten an AK if you need to. I also decided to paint the gun, too much black for my taste. Here's a shot of the light mount attachment. It's barrel mounted, the other side features some rail space for any light attachment. I highly recommend the mount. The light mount I have is a LaRue Surefire mount. I really really really recommend RS Regulate products!
  11. My first airsoft AK, I'm a big fan of Rifle Dynamics so I couldn't say no to the RD AK700 by Echo1. I'm debating about painting the gun but for now it just has FDE and CB details.
  12. I guess big boy rules apply to that picture. As long as he's not muzzle flashing anyone it's "legit", it's bad form but not muzzle sweeping anyone is most important.
  13. If you like the barrel light mount option, a new company RS Regulate makes one with rails for more light options. I have on on my AK and it sits pretty lowpro too.
  14. They do, the designer of the IO Cover worked out some arrangement with TangoDown to produce the covers under license.
  15. I've used this belt on the field, carbine classes, ISPC steel shooting. It works great havent looked at anything else since. - HSGI suregrip beltpad - HSGI cobra belt - HSGI pistol TACOs - HSGI X2R TACO - BAE Eclipse dump - Safariland 6004
  16. Found a few more in-game shots from the Lion Claws gallery. and a couple from my teammate.
  17. What I could find so far from this past weekends Lion Claws game. I'm such a gearwhore that I wore plates and all for the game... I ran into Sigma a few times. I like your helmet... lol
  18. Some in-game photos at HSP Combat Center. It's a MOUT like environment based on an Iraqi type hamlet. I'm mostly in the pictures but several of my teammates are include from Molon Labe. We have a new team page on facebook, check it out.
  19. Is that Bulgy demiled or the chamber/bolt exploded?
  20. I think the neck protector is installed incorrectly. I'm pretty sure the flaps are supposed to be under the shoulder straps.
  21. I know it's airsoft, but that torch cord would melt if it we're wrapped around the FSP like that.
