  1. Getting ready for Fulda Gap 2011 with a few additions to the JPC. Zipper EMT pouch and a 3l Thermobak. Having a custom laptop-style radio pouch being made this week. I need to sew up some MOLLE buckles to attach the Camelbak properly, but it works fine as it is.
  2. For CK's benefit... the only real wear area on my Khybers.
  3. First line: "Quick question" LOL
  4. @CK: My Khybers have held up great over the past year or so. I've finally retired them after daily wear (Monday-Saturday every week since I bought them) after ripping out the heel cup on one of the boots. I didn't unlace it quite far enough and had spent the whole day slogging around in a creek. While I'm ###### that they're ruined (or at least will take some time to fix), the rest of the boot has held up admirably.
  5. Needs a few finishing bits of TLC, but this is going pretty well so far.
  6. Blast, Riptide. New fetish. I don't like the paintjob, but I can't deny the quality of the work.
  7. I'm going to use it for a game or two and carefully observe the wear and tear. If you look at my SPR in the painted weapons thread, you'll see that I don't baby my guns around. If it starts wearing down quickly, I won't do any fake weathering. The E1 logos are laser-engraved, so getting rid of them will be kind of tricky. Even if I paint it, they'll still be visible.
  8. This is now SteevoLS' AKM Project Progress Thread. The stock and handguards are done. Modifying the stock took about 2 hours with a drill press, chisel, dremel, and a lot of profane silence. It's solid as a rock, though, and feels more like a RealSword than a CYMA. I'm deliberately hiding the front sight and flashhider in these shots because I'm waiting on the surplus Egyptian parts before that looks remotely presentable. The slant brake was badly mangled by Airsoft Atlanta, and the front sight is broken as I mentioned before.
  9. Thanks! I think this thing will be gorgeous when it is complete. I'm getting very bored with AR variants, so I now have somewhere to focus my free time.
  10. Work day tomorrow! Just got an Echo1 Red Star AKM/CM048M. Very impressed with the build quality other than the pot metal front sight. I snapped that of with about 5 pounds of force when I was removing the cleaning rod. :| Got an Egyptian AKM front sight, Polish AKM sling (canvas w/metal hooks on one end), and a few other bits and bobs coming in next week. Only mods the handguards need is a little dremeling to allow the lower handguard pin to lock closed. As of now it is as far back as it can rotate, as the picture shows. The stock just needs to be chopped off nearly flush and have a sm
  11. Let's pretend that suppressor doesn't say "22LR" on the side. While we're at it, let's pretend my focus was perfect on the 2nd shot. I suppose we could also pretend there were threads on that barrel!
  12. You could make a JPC fit on most anyone by loosening the shoulder straps and cummerbund webbing. Bear in mind it will end up looking like a 23AA bra on Rosie O'Donnell, but it can be done.
  13. Kunlun, would a Source .75l bladder fit in something like that GP pouch? I can get generic Condor medic pouches for all of $5 at work, and if that ladder would fit inside a pouch like that with no trouble then I may just ditch my larger bladder solution on the previous page.
  14. Ex, I think if any plate carrier would fit you, it would be a JPC. You can shorten the shoulder straps quite a bit, and you can make it as small in circumference as you want by relacing the "cummerbund".
  15. Ditto, mine fits just like that. Never had any issues with it moving around. I will say those little stretchy shoulder cover things are a pain. They tend to move around a lot and bunch up either at the front or back.
  16. I am a slim 6'0, and mine fits me like it was custom tailored just for me. Not sure what size it's a copy of. As far as durability goes, I've been very happy with mine so far.
  17. Not having any single or double mag pouches on hand, I didn't really have any other options. In reality, I'll probably leave 2 or 4 mags off of the setup and try to track down a smaller bungee pouch.
  18. Very similar setup to the above. I needed more ammo for an upcoming scenario that was going to keep me away from the parking lot for a long time, so I added a triple doublestack to my side. I'm a bit worried about limited mobility, but I am right handed so it shouldn't be too bad. For hydration, I was going to purchase a new pouch when I remembered that I had a loooong insulated pack. I folded it nearly in half, then wove the MOLLE straps down through the front side of the folded pack. Works like a charm when used with a smaller bladder, and saved me a few bucks.
  19. I might sell a few magazines soon...
  20. Looks like somebody needs a multicam health meter patch!
  21. Dagnabit, these gosh darn eyes be gettin' weak in ma old age.
  22. Nope, I'm afraid that's unauthorized ammernishion.
  23. Ebaybanned has two. While it's not US based, you can't really beat the price and they don't usually screw up on small orders. AABB steel version http://www.ebairsoft.com/aabb-steel-axd169-style-flashhider-p-4455.html Iron Airsoft ??? version http://www.ebairsoft.com/iron-airsoft-style-inconnel-flash-hider-black-p-3341.html
  24. I've had those PMAGs for a year or two, and they still feed great. VERY weak feed springs (BBs dribble out), but they feed fine nonetheless. They won't fit in most guns w/out mods, though. They were originally designed for the A&K Masada, but fit fine in my VFC. They also fit fine in that body above and G&G combat machines. Aside from that, I haven't found a receiver they fit in. As a side note, I got mine for $8/ea waaaaay back when they first came out by ordering them in bulk and pulling a few strings. Don't expect to get them that cheap anymore, though. Things like the CTRs, han
