  1. If I recall correctly, same manufacturing factory however different quality control dependent on the company that purchase the red dot replicas. Lets say replica dot graded between 1-10. Maybe G&P take the optics only in the 8-10 grade. Dytac only the 6-7 grade. And ACM with 3-7. Or whatever. Instead of the factory just strapping low quality replicas, they are able to recuperate funds by selling lower grade optics to individuals willing to purchase them. I do believe it is something like that with the Aimpoint Micro replicas.
  2. Technically both models offer by Dytac are co-witness models; one is a lower 1/3 (SOCOM) and the other is 1/2 (absolute) cowitness. "Cowitness" just means the red dot is overlay on the front sight post when irons are used. While the fraction numeral indicate the dot's location relative to the tube when irons are used.
  3. I agree with the Surefire brake replica, looks really nice. Also, the Beta Project magazines are replica of Arsenal's Bulgarian 5.56/.223 magazines.
  4. There's not picture thread however there is this in the Gear Section of the forum.
  5. If Russian soldiers can wear Mockbas shoes into battle or Georgian in tennis shoes, I think a pair of Vans is fine.
  6. Stock VFC AKS74UN with real AKS74U wood and a paracord stock wrap. Currently running it on a King Arms 11.1V 1100mAh 15C lipo; extremely tight fit, can't even access the the hopup with the cells in place. I plan switch out to a plastic piston head and upgrade the spring guide and the bushing to a metal set. Also plan to make the magazines look more real with a bakelite effect. And to also bastardize it with a rail, red dot and a light; the two latter a requirement of mine. But before that: Flickr Page Flickr Page
  7. Well that's what it is or similar; Pelican 1500D. Just because it wasn't it in a previous picture, where the foam was removed already for the pack, doesn't mean it isn't was it is, a desiccant silica gel pack.
  8. Just look around for the Cyma AK rail if you are looking for a cheap option. Then there is King Arma, VFC and LCT.
  9. Do you have an AK optic side plate? That would be how you attach it to your AK replica.
  10. Thanks. I could of add Velcro closure to the flaps but then that would require me to location more materials. I conscientiously tried to recycle as much original material that I could. In addition, the project was a proof of concept for me. I'm waiting for the stitching to fail so I have to redo them with #69 thread. Emphasis on the word simple no doubt. Took a simple Chicom and kept it simple but molded it to my needs. That's good to know. You can go make you own now then with more pouches for your AK replica. Fits MY requirements perfectly. Plus if need, one could stretch the
  11. Or because it is kydex I just let the holster flex due to the slightly wider Tokyo Marui G17 replica. Working fine thus far.
  12. That is a problem. Have you try to loosen up the glue with heat or something?
  13. Picked it up used, two of them actually. I know better enough not to order directly from ICE Tactical.
  14. ICE Tactical Quickdraw double M4 pouch.

  16. Wait. You can't screw off the flash hider and then the adapter after removing the grub screw?

  19. I split 3rd accessory pouch into two pistol pouches after increase the pouch's footprint. Cut down 2nd accessory pouch into a pistol pouch. Form another pistol sized pouch to sew a level down and to the right of 2nd pistol pouch. Recycle the 4 accessory pouch flaps, slimmed them down and sew the trim back on. Sew each flap on relative to each newly formed pistol pouch. Added elastic webbing to each pistol pouch tight enough to retrain double or single stack pistol magazines. Cut and removed 1st and 4th accessory pouches and then slim down the chest rig as a whole. Moved both metal D-ring a
  20. For a modern Chicom, just throw some PALS and call it a done deal Thanks. Due to my needs (primary magazines, secondary magazines, spare batteries for electroics), it was rather straight-forward and fun. However, it wasn't very fun when I did most it by hand until I realized I had a Singer sewing machine a closet. I choosing to use the toggles instead of Velcro because I wanted for the chest rig to seem more original. I tried to use as much original material that I could; other than some buckles, elastic webbing and 24 inches of spare webbing, every is original and reused. Plus the Co
  21. Properly modified Chicom. Almost done. Made by the Chinese, modified by a Vietnamese, used in America.
  22. Can I join? Nothing more than a Chinese Chicom with a bit of modifications. 90% done, need to sew in the wooden toggles for the pistol pouches.
  23. Paino, you should post that in this thread and bring the thread back to life. Nice job.
