  1. If you guys bothered to read the news pages....

Ivery music is also hosted on the same server as Arnies Airsoft. Whilst we are the fundamental crisis load on the server, it's obviously affecting other sites as well - which includes Iverymusic among others.

It's just a server glitch. Go back to your lives.

  2. well if you have that qestion you PM them.

But it is really annoying when you want to get a gun, and you look in a picture thread for it, adn all there is is just a ton of writing, if you have questions, you can PM< but most of the comments are questions, they are just "uh cool, nice gun mate", "dat is da freakiest gun eva, yer, yer"

    and all that stuff,

Does anyone else care apart from this dude?

  3. Oh, ENOUGH.

When the rep system was down, people complained.

Now that it's back, people complain.

Just accept the system for what it is - a harmless distraction, a number on the internet.

If you're really that worried about it, I'd suggest you re-evaluate your priorities in life REALLY quickly.

    Thread closed.

  4. Unfortunately, using "gay" as a derogatory term for something is very much part of the vernacular these days so it is unfair to penalise for using it, in my opinion.

Most people who use "gay" as a derogatory term aren't homophobic or making a comment about homosexuals, it's just a curse word in the same way that "*badgeress*" is. If I was to say "God, my MP5 was a *badgeress* to strip down", would I be penalised for being derogatory towards female dogs?

Just because it's something that is in the vernacular doesn't mean it has to be tolerated. Using "gay" as a catch all term for something substandard is not acceptable.

Flippen heck its even more PC here than in the UK (i can say flippen right?)

But seriously, if you don't like to get neg points for saying the word "gay", just don't say it anymore.  And it's fair game for others to neg rep you for any other curse word you say that's not catched by the word filter.

Or you could just go over to ASCUK theres no cencoring they use common sence and treat you like an adult, provided you dont ask stupid questions youl get on fine.

Or disagree with anything the mods do, or run an event that isn't anything to do with ASCUK, or host your team forum on here, or.....the list goes on.

At the end of the day, whilst this sounds very harsh, no one forces you to stay. If you have a problem with being unable to swear (which, by the way, is neither big nor clever) then the answer is very simple.

    Don't post.

  5. In addition:

Who ever reposts any picture from here on another forum is legally in the wrong. Arnies Airsoft lays no claim of ownership on any picture or post content posted here, copyright & ownership remains with the original poster and posting it on Arniesairsoft.co.uk has no implied license granted to others for use.

(Obviously the above does not apply to copywritten site graphics, but rather posts made by users ;))

Many individuals believe that everything on the internet is in public domain. It is not. Only works with an expired copyright, works created by (and possibly "for") the federal government, or works specifically dedicated by the copyright holder as "public domain" are considered public domain.

The relevent law is the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1998

s4(1)(b )- definition of a photographic work as a copyright work

s16 - acts restricted by copyright, including republishing, copying, showing or performing the work in public, and so on

    and most crucially, s17:

17.—(1) The copying of the work is an act restricted by the copyright in every description of copyright work; and references in this Part to copying and copies shall be construed as follows.

    (2) Copying in relation to a literary, dramatic, musical or artistic work means reproducing the work in any material form.

This includes storing the work in any medium by electronic means.

Your redress in this instance is quite limited. You can, in theory, ask the owner/host of the offending other forum to remove the images because they're infringing your copyright, and legally, they should oblige. They have an 'innocent disseminator' defence (that they didn't know) up until the point you notified them. After that, the defence fails, so continuing to allow the work to be republished is an infringement of copyright.

As a third party site is republishing the pictures then usually there will be a contact page or details for the sites admin or webmaster type bods, they'd be your first point for an email "you do not have permission to publish x". However to uphold your complaint you'll have to prove ownership. Members will need to make official complaints themselves if they so choose.

  6. It's come to my attention that several members are taking pictures from this site and posting them on other boards for the sole purpose of ridicule - for example, Lightfighter Tactical Anti-stud, and the ARRSE "He must be a virgin" threads.

I'm naming no names, but you know who you are.

    It stops. Now.

Whilst I recognise that pictures will probably still find their way there as the board can be browsed by guests, if I find that an Arnies member is either posting said pictures, or partaking in such tearings down, then they will be BANNED from this site.

This is meant to be a community of like minded individuals, and such petty behaviour is NOT acceptable.

    Clear?

  7. You can check your warn logs by clicking on the "x%" (x being the percentage number) meter just to the left of your warn bar.  This should show you who has assigned warning points to your account and why.

I just clicked that link and I didn't see anything G19 related ;)

    Hope that helps :)

I think Sledge is making the point that when he clicks the x% he gets an error message.

havoc was complaining of something similar - I *think* it's a problem with the 'regulars' member group.

  8. Ghost Rider-

Again not wanting any problems, just feel we're being unfairly judged. This is a huge positive step for Airsoft, that an International non-Airsoft company is recognizing Airsoft as a hobby/sport. That helps battle politicians that want to pigeon hole Airsoft as a "fringe" hobby used only by wackos and gun nuts.

I don't see how.It was a flagrant commercial post, both of your site and the motorcycle, without Admin approval.

Normally I would send the info to Arnie, but he is busy and posted on the news page to post news in the news section while he was away.

I've just gone through the news page, and i see no such announcement, nor was such a change in policy notified to us.

    Your post broke the rules.

    It got deleted.

    End of.

If you'd bothered to search, you would have seen that we have TWO admins you could have gone to for approval.

Feel free to submit it through the proper channels.

  9. And I'd prefer it if people didn't *badgeress* when their threads get deleted for breaking the rules, but we don't always get what we want.

They were flagrantly commercial, advertising the posters company, Summit lake films. Yes, that's right, the company that did the filming, advertisng their website.

Past Summit Lake productions have included such celebrities and athletes as William Shatner, and Tony Hawk and have been featured in several North American Film Festivals. Summit Lake Entertainment also produces short films and is always developing additional film projects.

In addition, you were also advertising the motorcyles used

Jim Hugnin, owner of the Ural used in the filming, added a Classic Army SAW to the sidecar for his son and others to enjoy. “As soon as I saw the Ural, I knew I had to get one and add a machine gun on that bad-boy,” remembered Hugnin “And the players loved it!” he continued. Ural’s Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Madina Merzhoyeva, agrees. “Airsofter's and Ural’s motorcycles are a great mix. You can be everyone’s envy while you’re playing and while you’re riding to work,” Madina added.

Flagrant Commercial advertising without Admin approval = deletion.

Finally, posting the same thing in two separate areas is creating a duplicate thread.

All in all, not a good start.

    Any more questions?
