Quality Biodegrabable BBs are ok - see Green Devil for example.

AEGs are more popular than GBBr simply because they are less hassle and less expensive to run. And more reliable with regard to weather. GBBrs are more fun though thats why most AEG guys (like me) don't carry a AEP pistol, but a GBB one. You may want to look into the Marui M4 New Gen line (M4 Sopmod, M4 Socom, M4 CQB-R, SCAR). Full metal (where they should be metal), recoil, bolt stop and a more fun overall (sound, etc) experience. Expensive though.
  3. Gabs, regarding the contacts - don't replace them yet unless they are broken. Otherwise just wait for the electronic control unit.
  4. On a whole different subject ... Richard... maybe you should market your springs also for the AK74 series? I have one spring for that weapon and its the same length as the Sopmod spring!
  5. I have used 2 of the laylax barels in my rifles, highly recommended. Am using them with longer barrels, one of them with a 300mm TK brarel, the other one with a 363mm one. Double nice is the inner o-rig-something that keeps the inner barrel centered / not moving.
  6. I'd say both the barrel nut in the Madbull / DD freefloats and the one in the URX rail actually leave a little more space for the wires to come through than the original Socom arrangement.
  7. Which rail are you talking about? Point it out here http://www.kingarms.com/showproduct.asp?subcatid=37 ? Re - the one screw take down - I've used both the Madbul DD RIS II and the VFC URX 2 Mid Length - both of them have removable bottoms that can be easily fixed with 2 screws. For the DD I'd prefer 4, though. Also I'm currently using the URX II and its ok, but fitting the battery in is a PIA each time Regarding the barrel nut, I'd advance you won't have any issues, normally all rails come with their own barrel nuts anyway.
  8. The RIS (RAS?) that ships with the Sopmod will work and fit a two panel lipo. I'm sure many Sopmod owners can sell you one, I could, for example ... but I'm in Romania.

q: if you remove the front sight on the KJW M4, can you fit a standard AEG gas block in its place?

Only export to the US or to "any country"?
  11. For me the indention is useful for the deans connector, my battery panels are hidden on the laterals of the rail (VFC URX II)
  12. Richard, would you say that what breaks is the threading on: a ) lower receiver b )stock tube c ) both? I'm asking cause my old sopmod still waits for me to fix it, suffering from broken threading... I never got to do it since I have the Socom running 100%. But I want to plan.
  13. I wonder if DYTAC know about the demand for receivers...
  14. Richard, any ETA on the electronic trigger for the Sopmods?

I'd take a level 3 carrier, but note I don't have a rifle yet - waiting for your magazines
  17. It's a Normal Firefly... shooting 0.25 through it, stock upgrade level and a TK twist barrel. I don't remember any such issues with my previous rifle, shooting 100m/s through the same barrel / bucking combination.
  18. I think he has a problem in removing the barrel from the hop up unit?
  19. I'm having a constant hop on / off experience with my Socom - and had a similar experience with the Sopmod before. Basically In anything under 5 degrees Celsius, my first 10 or so shots don't receive enough Hop, and then it starts to work. No shooting for 10-15 minutes restarts the process. This means that if I correct the hopup for the first shot I'll get overhop for sure on the long term. What is your experience? I'm basically looking to rush my upgrade to 100m/s just to solve this goddamn problem.
  20. Well i had mine for over a year, they might have adapted in the meantime. I remember exchanging emails with the manufacturer, and they were unsure whether it would fit. On one hand they said - it should fit - but on the other they said they heard there's something peculiar about Sopmods threading. From what I tested both the VFC KAC URX II and the Kingarms Larue Stealth rails fit ok
  21. Well maybe it was just my example, I'll have to see if I can find the box to see if it was the madbul or the socom gear (pretty sure it was this one).
  22. Oppressor, firesupport.co.uk should ship cheap and fast to Romania
