  1. Hey Icolator, If you want to threat yourself for Christmas Here's a link straight to the makers. http://www.fpr.hk/1911/Kimber%20Stainless%20Raptor%20II%20(FULL%20GUN)
  2. That's basically a 10.8 version of the M&P your looking for DZ It will be a while before you see a Titanium slide I'm afraid, as the Detonator kits will be released first through Enten, more or less similar to the previous kits for WE they made, with the exception of the hop-up dial showing in the slide cut-out on the side when it's racked and no sights included. But they should be available in Hong Kong at the cheaper price within the next month.
  3. Nice Review DZ and Great photos too Cybergun are expecting large worldwide sales, so are probably commissioning it's own RMR through VFC that could be sold globally without licencing issues. I'm sure they're hoping any currently available clone RMRs will be sorted out by aftermarket adapter plates, as I reckon they won't be getting involved with sales of Trijicon- type replica RMR compatability and licensing issues. It certainly is one snappy shooter, and nice to hold with decent gas efficiency. But with it being a gunged up VFC build you can be sure that stuff is there to ensure no br
  4. Super photos by the way, always great to see RS comparisons Cheers.
  5. I had a quick look today at the Marui M&P safety, the hammer mechanism is removed by taking out a roll-pin and a screw hidden under the back strap to release the mechanism from it's seating. The mechanism comes out in one piece including the safety attached, the safety is easily removed and the gun will function normally, well it did for the few magazines I tested after removing it. I hadn't got time to take the hammer mechanism itself apart, but it appears there was an internal support for the safety pin to go through. A replacement aftermarket frame would be needed as spaces are left
  6. Its possible yes, its just that either way it would involve a complete strip of the hammer mechanism to replace the central rod of the safety, it would need almost perfect fitting end pieces to fit back into the frame to seal the space that's left empty. I'll take photos tomorrow to give you a better idea of what it looks like, the point I was making is that the procedure won't be easy.
  7. I stripped a Marui M&P Today and was mentioned before the safety is a no-go area, after you remove the hammer mechanism pin, a small screw under the backstrap has to be unscrewed to release the hammer mechanism. The safety is a permanent fixture, there may be a way of removing it eventually, but would involve a complete rebuild of the hammer mechanism, and replacement frame. If your used to firing a WE or VFC M&P or other striker fired pistols you might find the safety an annoyance to say the least. But overall as a skirmishing gun, great kick and gas efficiency so a sure winner
  8. That turned out very nice I bet your very pleased with that, just need that toothpick for the safety red-dot I still need to do a few finishing touches to both my Beretta's, nothing major or ultimately essential, but I will get the frame on the Ghost Island/HK3P Cerakoted and maybe try different springs on the INOX. The Ghost Island Beretta 92FS with Steel-Slide and Barrel (QRP finish) was amazing value at $370, as it's one of the most realistic replicas I've seen and less than the price of a Shooters Design kit !
  9. The Nova Beretta kits are basically Prime quality, but as intended it was also made to be a skirmish-able pistol, so the black version was made with a matt-black finish to avoid easy scratching like on some of the more polished-slides. The Silver kits including INOX and Elite are a real bargain if bought at the HK prices, as the bulk of these were made for export to Japan, but sadly most of these are sold out already, and a lot of the second batch didn't even make it online.
  10. And if you don't glue it on properly it will come flying back off with the force of the BBU, as there is a fair kick off it Best of luck with it, looking forward to seeing the photos. Cheers.
  11. Thanks Whiteknight I'll get a chance next weekend to compare the 3 available M&Ps, WE, VFC and Marui. There's no reason the internals on the Marui shouldn't be the best, so I'm looking forward to comparing them. The Marui/Nova slides will be slightly larger than the WE version, as it has metal inserts to support the BBU, the difference is quite minuscule though, the safety on the Marui is a permanent feature so won't be coming out too easy unless you do a hammer mechanism strip and get a replacement frame to cover the space the removal leaves. As far as I know there are a coupl
  12. A couple of M&Ps, regular and ATEi in standard and pro-sizes.
  13. First report I heard regarding the removal of the safety was No, as the safety would have to be replaced not alone by a new aftermarket frame, but some kind of retaining pin to replace the core of the safety lever, this might not be possible. This was an initial report though, so I haven't heard much since. Nova slides are just finished pre-production and should be going into production in two-weeks, as expected these should be available in the SAI, ATEi and regular variants. The Marui slides are slightly larger at the BBU due to internal strengthening. Detonator may be first to market
  14. The Beretta 92FS, not as in vogue at the moment with all the new SAI & Costa M&Ps and Glocks, but never the less still a classic gun. Here are a couple of my recent Beretta 92FS builds, one a Marui-based INOX, and the other a WE (New Version)/ Ghost Island 92FS with Steel-Slide and barrel with QRQ finish, which is still a work in progress, but nearly there, just a Cerakote job for the frame left, and that's me finished with Beretta's for a while.
  15. This should give you more than enough information on MEU related 1911s. A couple of weeks reading though http://www.ar15.com/mobile/topic.html?b=5&f=49&t=86667
  16. Mateba grip or Meteba bottle opener, who knows with the Workd Cup on any things possible
  17. Well Aitch, they both turned out perfect, I bet your more than pleased with them ;-) I took some new photos of my CDPs, so hard getting the light right with those silver slides. Great to see some new 1911 shots, a bit of a drought this year with not many new kits on the market, I'm sure anyone who bought a Nova kit last year is fairly pleased with themselves now.
  18. A used pair of the old-style grips sold in Hong Kong today for £46, I'll be looking for a bit more when I eventually decide to sell my unused pair from 1991
  19. Excellent photos uscmCorps ;-) I'm sure your more than happy with the work done for the price involved. You'll have to do a separate write up on your Hong Kong trip ? Thanks for sharing the photos.
  20. Looking forward to seeing some shots of it Finbarqs
  21. ProWin/PGC Sig Sauer P226 Elite two-tone available at Redwolf now considerably cheaper than the Shooters Design, strangely its missing the beavertail which may suit you ? or Not !
  22. Like I mentioned and they state on the website there is variation in colour, when I got my VZ Grips for a Costa Build I made, the pair I received were exactly what I was hoping for originally, better looking than the ones advertised on the website. Your only other option is to check out what grips are on the 10:8 website by Hilton Yam, they too had a very similar variation a few months back, possibly the same grips OEM'd.
  23. Hey Big Al, The best you could do is try these VZ Grips, there are options for thumb-notch or super-scoop. There are some variations in detail, they could be brighter or even identical. Remember the Colt version comes with FDE coloured flat-head screws, so if you want to imitate that you may need bushings supplied just in case. https://vzgrips.com/gun-grips/1911/diamond-backs/diamond-back-marsoc-g10
  24. Hey Simon, When I last checked they were out of stock, I could try Brownells for you ?
  25. Easily remidied with a penknive and some Dulux
