  1. I too would be interested in finding some suitable 8mm bushings as I'm not much of a fan of bearing bushings either. I don't hold out much hope though as I don't recall ever seeing any about that'd work other than the standard 8mm bearing bushings. 8mm isn't very common I don't really fancy trying to make bushings with a lip fit by cracking out the dremel either !
  2. Just shows what a cheap nasty pos the included battery really is! I delved into the gearbox on mine and I didn't think it was too bad really aside from the lack of grease, and dubious shims. I expect I will stick with my 8.4v batts and just fit the fett I have on the way and leave it at that. I might switch the motor though as it doesn't seem that great .
  3. Don't edit and remove things - makes me look stupid
  4. No prizes for guessing which will perform better there then
  5. Having had some free time today thanks to a day off, I've just gone through and done the hop unit improvement and cut the flange (tehe) of the box mag feed off, much better in both areas. I also put some foam over the wires / pcb in the box mag to give it a bit more protection in there, and tested it for the first time. I'm quite surprised as currently it actually seems to be functioning fine. I now have one of my two new batteries specially made for it on charge so I can have a proper test fire of it tommorow - fingers crossed I'm one of the lucky people with a working box mag. Then maybe I'l
  6. Just a quick post to anyone interested in those ammo crates from Feltons as a case for the para, that I mentioned before. I had mine through this morning after I missed the first delivery earlier this week. They are pretty immaculate for ammo crates so much so I had to spend a few minutes wiping it down to remove what I can figure was oil to stop them rusting while stored. No signs of rust or nastiness on mine at all. I've just placed my order for foam to line it with and create a nice little home my my para. The total cost for both foam and ammo case inc delivery was £40, with delivery
  7. Lol. I'd wonder what it is you'd be buying if a bit of lube, some shims and a small mod to the hop rubber would cost as much as the gun itself. Hell even if you added a CA 1200 cloth mag to that list it'd still be a lot cheaper. If it is that bad best go buy a CA eh. The reality is most electric fed box mags don't handle high rof applications, and that is down to the design itself rather than the flaws of any particular manufacturers own attempt at it. Another quick part worth a check from me - I found the screws on the bolt handle assembly to be quite loose. A bit of locktite and a sc
  8. No worries Has anyone else had a go at removing the gearbox spring yet ? I'd certainly not say the term quick change actually applies to getting at the end of the gearbox as it took a fair few whacks to remove the necessary pin. At least however it looks like the spring will be fairly UK friendly, it definitely isn't the monster seen in the initial reviews !
  9. I can't get pics I'm afraid but the rear sight should be along the lines of hooking at the end with the two curved prongs around the front pin in between the front of the sight leaf. The longest bit then runs underneath the leaf passing through the gap approx halfway up the underside of it. The rear pin then sits between the rear of the sight leaf and the spring. and by the mighty powers of ms paint which probably makes the above no clearer at all Grey being the sight leaf, red the spring & the white circles with black outline the two sight pins/screws.
  10. I haven't tested the hop out for shooting but it seemed to push the rubber quite a long way down into the barrel. I've got a few spare hop rubbers of various makes lying about anyway so I'll probably change it if it is pants. RT - yeah, the original box mag is a bit on the bulky side of things
  11. Damn dude, thats a shame, I'm surprised they didn't phone or email before to try and get your details again before reselling it Still, hold onto the cash, there might still be some available elsewhere or maybe in the future !
  12. Ok I've fiddled and had a good look over it, so far I'd say: Overall build quality - Excellent given the price. Definitely do check the various hex head screws about though, I did find a few worryingly loose. I'll be picking up some locktite and applying that to a fair few as well as some of the grub screws that aren't essential to taking the gun down. The QD barrel is pretty sturdy and takes a fair effort to relocate, so it should stay put quite happily (There is a pretty beefy spring holding the QR catch onto the notch in the outer barrel too). The "carry" handle is a little wobbly, but
  13. Yeah, I didn't think they seemed too flex much - I expect I might well do as you suggest mate. To anyone interested the CA lower ris fits, quite tightly. I'm not 100% sure given that I've never seen one on a CA in person, but the two tabs that hold it in place are very close to being too short to fit as I'd figure they do. Still, it seems solid enough at the moment.
  14. I'm probably just being a muppet here - but how the hell do you remove the foregrip on the para? I want to fit this lower ris but can't see beyond four screws how it actually comes off. Fine with gearboxes but beaten by a foregrip Nice gun so far but definitely watch the screws & circlips on the pins. A few have fallen off or been extremely loose already. EDIT - Aha, nevermind - that was a sneaky little catch !
  15. Doh, well fingers crossed it'll be easy enough to get tommorow then mate. Yeah Darklite, I know I should really, I think the ACOG desire is a lingering one from when I had an armalite and never actually bought one back then Edit - I may have found an item that might interest some of you, I shall post up if they are available, I'm just awaiting an email reply regarding their stock.
  16. I bought a few bits already (CA lower ris, grip pod, 10 inert rounds) but I'm undecided on the route I will be going for battery storage so that is on hold until it arrives and I can better decide (Currently it is a toss up between battery sling or PEQ). I too almost bought an ACOG, but I still might opt for an Elcan if I can find the Samurai m145 copy in stock. I expect I will concentrate on the internals first and get the dress up bits next month. I doubt I will even fire mine before I take it apart and start changing bits and pieces. I'm such a ###### for modding things.
  17. Haha. Nothing worse than paying for an item to be delivered, to then have to go collect it from the local PO / depot. I do wish Friday would hurry up already I've already been browsing various airsoft places thinking of extras I might buy given I got paid today. Extra wages and an impending new gun is a dangerous combination.
  18. Nice one dude. You never know when a dodgy tummy might surface and make it difficult to remain at work
  19. I placed the order and paid in full on the 20th of August. In all fairness it could easily take a day just to send out emails to all the potential buyers if ASW sold the allocated 150 (Figuring they and ActionHobbys had an even split of the 300). I'd certainly figure they are up to their eyesballs in them ! SB, I hope you use the tried and tested undervalue answer when asked "How much did it cost?!" Garden sheds aren't so bad though eh mate, only a bit cold and spider infested for the most part...
  20. I perhaps spoke a little soon! I've just had an email from the "evening shift" saying mine will be sent tommorow for Friday delivery. Cool, though god damn it, this waiting malarkey is killing me hehe.
  21. Hmm, I'd hope not being I paid in full via worldpay the day they were first up for pre order on ASW and I haven't received any sign of a despatch email
  22. Woop ! Looks like it will be in time for the weekend afterall. Cheers for the thought of the offer anyway Tarnish I too am glad I used worldpay and my card rather than paypal. Could have been a right *bleep* otherwise Roll on M249 day this week !
  23. If it weren't for the fact I haven't got a car atm while still sorting out the insurance claim I'd be well up for that - it has been too long since I made a visit to CS. As for spare parts to those two items - I'd heard similar mumurs of size differences to usual parts elsewhere, but if that is the case I'll just live with it and hope they don't break !
  24. Nice one dude, thats good news even if it means it'll probably be Thursday before we get them. Two more painful days of waiting are ahead...
  25. I was hoping the same and will be keeping a beady eye on my inbox for an "order despatched" email from ASW.
