    Quick question for you guys on the AG36 - anyone have a comparison between the Star and CA AG36 versions? Is one better than the other? Pros and Cons?

     

    Star:

     

    Pros: Trades (These are awesome), comes with barrel assembly, fits stick batteries. Very solid build.

    Cons: Price

     

    CA

     

    Pros: Cost

    Cons: Barrel assembly not included- you might need to modify yours slightly. No trades.

     

    I'm starting to see the Star ones for the cost of the CA ones though.

    Except Matrix isn't a company, it's a rebranding sticker evike puts on it's ACM brand of the month.

     

    Everyone knows the Evike/Matrix labeling. I was quoting what's on their website.

     

    Okay. I was referring to your speculation here:

     

    Maybe Matrix convinced WE to make steel barrels.

    Even if that is true...it's probably some super cheap (not stainless) die cast steel (like the old guarder).

     

    Since Matrix is just a sticker/multiple ACM companies, how can they convince WE to make steel barrels?

     

    And no, not enough people know about Evike's rebranding habits- too many people treat "Matrix" as an actual company. It should be mentioned as often as possible.

    Hmm. They do say it's steel....

    I guess someone will have to buy it to find out ....not me :)

    It also says "Designed in Japan, made in Taiwan (Joint effort of Matrix and WE-Tech)"

    Shidarin - The Dragon looks good. It does look like the slide and frame have been refinished. I think your lettering is painted or etched on. It doesn't look deep enough to be engraving.

     

    Oops, you're absolutely right- it's etched; not engraved :)

    im looking to do something a bit like this with my STAR G36c but i dont know if any of the RIS foregrips can be fitted to them. does anybody know.

     

    I dont know of any G36 that wont fit any handguard, with the exception of some modding needed for some AG36s and if you wanted to fit RS parts.

    Thanks for the compliments :) Really I think it's due to using the lightbox, which I made using the quite tutorial from QDRenegade found here

     

    Thats a real nice shooter you got there.

    2 questions though.

    1) How do you cope with your grip so far back? (Not a criticism, a general question)

    2) Do you bother to use the different Iron Sights sizes?

     

    It's a lot easier to aim and move the gun around with it closer in. That said, this gun is heavier than most so I might move it another row out just to get better weight distribution. I can fit my hand fine in behind it so that's not really an issue.

     

    Using the iron sight sizes is pretty easy with these BUIS, the 4 is the largest size, and one rotate moves it to the 1, the smallest size, pretty quickly. That said, when I use this gun I'll probably have my aimpoint replica on it. It co-witnesses nicely.

     

     

    Very nice Shidarin, makes me wish I didn't get rid of mine when they first came out. =(

    Pf, it could easily have been your gun at one point, since I bought it used from sprg, and he bought it used from someone else, who might have gotten it used from...

     

    Azn, this gun is just dancing around you isn't it? :) I'm usually not in the habit of selling off my guns though, so I suspect the dance might be over.

    Accidentally posted this in the 1911 thread, since as far as I could figure all the infinities and hicappas and whatever were just mutated versions of the 1911. I guess 2011 makes sense :)

     

    I got this WE Hicappa Dragon as a gift from a friend for helping them out- that's why it's engraved and stuff :)

    Thanks Horse, I didn't know what a 2011 was. Ha :) That was the "I hope this fits here"

    Yes and no. It depends on your G36 and it depends on what AG36 you buy. The CA G36 does not come with a new barrel assembly and this usually means you have to file down parts of the barrel assembly that came with your G36. The Star AG36 comes with the assembly, so no modification is needed. I do not know if JG36s fit a CA AG36 GL without modification.

    My first airsoft gun, my TM G36. First gun sold at AEX Torrance, started life as a C, moved on to the K with a pre-release order of the Dragon Arms kit (GAH! DEATH!), then a G&P K length foregrip, finally a star fulllength, then a Star AG36 was added :) It's slated as my next gun to get back into shape- going to add a railed scope and hopefully aquire an armycode body :/

    Internally it's got standard gearset upgrades, upgraded to 400 fps. I changed the inner barrel to full length, so there's no going back to shorter :D

     

    I've given a lot of thought to the convenience of swapping in the private parts M16 magwell, but have resisted so far.

    Finallt got mine together after buying the kit a fewe years ago, awesome gun. The dealer who built it has to kits instock aswell at the moment.

     

    The dealer who is building your gun has discontinued Hurricane HK416 kits in stock? Whose your dealer?

    Got her here on arnies, you can only get them used at this point. Having held both a VFC and Hurricane, it seemed worth the time to find a Hurricane, even if it's a little worn.
