  1. I'm using a V2 piston head, but a piston head is generic V2 and V3 are the same.
  2. Yup it's long type, changing the motor is a good idea, the original one is not bad, but it's cheap so performance are not really good, i tried with an EG1000 and it's smoother.
  3. I bought mine diretcly from a G&G contact (sam@guay2.com), prices are ok and shipping fees too (handguard is around 30$ and cocking handle is 5$ without shpping which should be 15-20$). This could be helpful : http://b2b.guay2.com/drawings/l85/L85-A2.pdf Quote the numbers you need in the mail, it will be easier for them. If you still wanna buy it in the UK you can ask to your local or internet shop to get it for you, but i think the price will be higher. (i did ask to a shop here in France and they told me around 80 € for the handguard...) Well first you wil ha
  4. The point is that a G&G is not even reliable for a high price, and i wanted to get a reliable gun so i had to make it that way, with a G&G i would have had to make the same modifications but with a 400 € AEG at first. With the army i've started at ~150 €. Finally for the same price as a G&G i get a reliable and effective AEG, and i won't have any troubles for a long time (well i hope..) and very good performances. To me cheap is a good start to custom for persons who Knows/like to customize their AEG's, i'd rather invest in parts to make my gun reliable than buying a new
  5. Internal : -Deepfire Titanium V2 piston + Spacer kit -Piston head POM prometheus -Original Sector gear Marui -Inner Barrel prometheus 6.03 (509mm) -Hopup + rubber guarder -Kanzen beargins -Mosfet SW-evolution External : -G&G handguards -G&G A2 style cocking Handle
  6. Shame on you New upgrade for my R85 (which is not really a R85 anymore ) The sw-evolution mosfet from Extreme-fire.com ! Trigger reactivity and Rof upgraded i love that See here for more : http://extreme-fire.com/SW-EVOLUTION.html
  7. The A2 cocking handle used is the G&G one, it fits well you just need to screw it instead the old one. @Erik Cartman : My ACOG fits without any modifications. It's the G&P. As you are using a 7.4v Lipo battery is it good ? No problems ? I'm thinking about using one too !
  8. hi guys, here is a couple of pic from my R85 turned into L85A2 with G&G Handguard (material is really better and the colour too) + A2 style cocking handle Inside gearbox i have bearings (kanzen classic 6mm), piston deepfire+spacer kit, original spring and sector gear marui. And inner barrel is a 6.03 Prometheus 509 mm + Hopup (and bucking) guarder. Thanks to the kanzen bearings i've upgraded the RoF with the same 8.4v battery.
  9. wootoow, the best thing would be to buy the Deep fire Titanium V2 piston, a bit expensive, but it will last a very long time trust me. About the piston head Prometheus POM is good, and take the rubber from the original piston head cuz it's bigger. (or find it elsewhere) 9.6v (mean High RoF) + M120 is not really recommended i think you should go for a M110 or M100 spring because up too M110 you may have to get some high-torque stuff in your gearbox (such as high torque new motor and gear set but don't forget taht the spur gear is particular to this Gearbox), you have to choose between RoF
  10. Ferdiii have you changed the rubber too ? or just the hopup unit ?
  11. Hey rolling-thunder thanks for the news didn't know that G&G would release their own version of the susat, any information about the release date ? Any other information ? @ Trasher : No problem dude, tell us if it's getting better with a new hopup chamber (be careful i heard that some hopup chamber does not fit it)
  12. Well, i had the same problem, BBs taking vertical dives at ~ 30 meters, i changed the barrel for a prometheus 6.03, changed hopup chamber for a guarder and the rubber is a guarder too, now it's perfect, the R85 rubber is useless, i didn't try the hopup chamber with another rubber, but you did it and it seems that the hop up sux too, so get a new hopup chamber and it should be fixed.
  13. thanks for your help teuton, the problem for the barrel was a little ring at the end of the outer barrel, i removed the flashhider and then (and theeeeeeeeen ) removed this little ring which was too tight for my prometheus barrel, this ring seemed to prevents the inner barrel woble.
  14. hi guys, i just bought it from rsov, and i ordered a tight barrel prometheus 6.03 (509mm) with it, but it doesn't fit, it's blocking and the end of the barrel, looks like the prometheus diameter is larger than the basic barrel, that's weird because it should be smaller.. Did any one ever fit this type of barrel on it ? (sorry i didn't read all the previous pages only the 10th first..). And the hop-up chamber and rubber are definetely the things to replace. Thanks.
