  1. All that article says is that they are no longer outsourcing manufacturing but it doesn't specifically say they are already using their own manufactured gearboxes in the ACR yet. It seems to point more to the fact that their new Proline AEG's will be manufactured by them and maybe have a bolt stop feature like the marui sopmod but it doesn't exactly point to the ACR, although I can now see how you are putting two and two together.

  2. Version 2 gearbox is already in the new guns. As PTS decided to make there own and not use Ares

Where do you actually get this information from or do you just make it up?

PTS have never acknowledged that the gearbox was manufactured by Ares as far as anything I've read (although that looks very much the case due to the similarities) and I never saw/heard any announcements that they were going to be using a different manufacturer for the internals other than the current one.

Ah I've found similair ones on Fire-Support, hopefully they will do the Job, thanks!

Contact an official UK Magpul dealer, they should be able to get spares.

That was my original plan but I need it before the weekend :D

  5. Managed to lose the self retaining hand guard pin this weekend (oh the irony)

Any body know of any pins for other guns that will fit?

I've been told a G36 or MP5 pin might do the trick?

Otherwise the allen key and electrical tape will just have to do me until the RIS hand guard comes out :D

  6. I am not an idiot, a racists or indeed a troll, i merely shortened the word Japenese to Jap, as people shorten the word British to Brit. I'm not being derogatory so you'll just have to tollerate what you read,, SO THEN,, The thing in question are the guns from Hong Kong or wherever for that matter RoHS compliant ???? !!! i think not,,, so then will UKARA retailers start selling RoHS compliant equipment,,

I'm pretty sure all the guns are made in the same place, just a few alterations to the UK spec models.

I think it's just better wiring, different paint, a less powerful spring and an extra bit of plastic screwed onto the hand guard to hold the retainer pin.

All good things of course but it hardly makes it a completely different gun.

I highly doubt most guns are ROHS compliant, seems Magpul went a step further than most manufacturers in this department?

(I'm only saying this as I've never seen or heard of another gun being advertised as fully ROHS compliant)

  7. Had a bit of an issue with my Masada on Sunday, it was running a bit hot for the site so I swapped the springs and after that the problem started.

It was randomly cutting out, no grinding noises or anything but it was exactly as if the gun had no battery and after running a few more steps it would start working again but this kept happening every 15-20mins.

The battery wasn't flat and the gun ran fine in between this, same rate of fire and great trigger response. I'm thinking it's definately electrical and my first guesses would be the connector to the battery or the connectors on the motor coming loose. I was quite careful changing the spring and don't think I did anything that would affect the electrics.

I'm hoping that is it rather than an issue with the micro switch. I'll investigate it when I get home tonight, just wondering if anyone else has had the same/similar issue?

Other than that though the gun was a pleasure to use :)

  8. I'm quite pleased with mine, no problems so far with about 1000 rounds through it :)

I'm a bit confused about Airsoft Oddysey's guide to the differences between the import and UK spec Masada.

Mine isn't the UK spec, but I have a "silver" cylinder unlike the import in the below picture. Is that just poor lighting in the photograph and the both have "silver" cylinders? or is there maybe a 3rd spec of Masada? My s/n is MPTS00074 which is quite low, so I'd imagine it was an import from one of the first batches, I got it from Land Warrior before they got the UK spec ones in and ether way I'm very happy with it so far :)

  9. I got my FDE Masada yesterday, didn't have a chance to play with it as all my batteries are wired for Deans :P

I've changed the masada to deans though and I can't wait to give it a good work out next Sunday! I don't have any washers on my barrel but it seems to sit quite nicely with almost no wobble at all. There are a few mold lines, but nothing worse that I've seen on any of my other guns.

Only fired off about half a mag in the back garden at 10pm last night but it was a joy to shoot :D

The only thing I don't like about the gun is that it has made me put my beloved SCAR away for awhile :P

  10. LandWarrior have them in stock and ready to go :P

I know, it's damn tempting to take a trip there tomorrow and I'll be playing there on Sunday anyways, was going to try hold out for an FG one from Dingodogs though but the suspense is killing me lol
