Version 2 gearbox is already in the new guns. As PTS decided to make there own and not use Ares
Where do you actually get this information from or do you just make it up?
PTS have never acknowledged that the gearbox was manufactured by Ares as far as anything I've read (although that looks very much the case due to the similarities) and I never saw/heard any announcements that they were going to be using a different manufacturer for the internals other than the current one.

Anyone heard anything about this?
http://cgi.ebay.com/Masada-Magpul-Hop-up-Chamber-and-Air-tight-Nozzle-/260734861321
Interesting, haven't heard anything about that from any sites
-
Oh god I'm so jealous, better start saving up
-
Fitted my RIS last night, I'm so pleased with it I think I was still smiling when I woke up this morning

Excellent review!
I love my warrior RICAS but a multicam raptor would be my next choice, does anyone know if there is much difference in the sizing between the two? I like the RICAS because it's fairly long, just the right length for me
-
Damn Phil that is looking awesome
Have you changed the hop rubber in the new barrel or are you just using the stock one? I'm guessing it's the same as the original hop rubber?
-
Just ordered the RIS handguard (FDE) from Dingodogs, will let you know my opinions on it when it arrives
-
Same here, have got most of my Multicam kit from their Ebay store
Always sent quickly and exactly as advertised, pretty good prices too!
-
Anybody heard anything official on the accessories?

RSOV used to have the ones for the G36 and MP5 with a big beefy spring clip in it, you wont loose one of them ones. have a nosey over there and see if they still have them in stock.
www.rsov.com
Ah I've found similair ones on Fire-Support, hopefully they will do the Job, thanks!
Contact an official UK Magpul dealer, they should be able to get spares.
That was my original plan but I need it before the weekend
-
Managed to lose the self retaining hand guard pin this weekend (oh the irony)
Any body know of any pins for other guns that will fit?
I've been told a G36 or MP5 pin might do the trick?
Otherwise the allen key and electrical tape will just have to do me until the RIS hand guard comes out

It was The Fort that had council problems and is now closed. Airsoft Edinburgh is Land Warrior and is open. Airsoft Edinburgh
My bad, I misread the first post, indeed it's The Fort that closed down (Run by AirsoftWorld)
Go to Land Warrior and play with the APC, you will have a blast
-
They had a lot of trouble with the local council and the site has now closed down.
Your best bets are The Hill in dundee and Landwarrior in Edinburgh

I am not an idiot, a racists or indeed a troll, i merely shortened the word Japenese to Jap, as people shorten the word British to Brit. I'm not being derogatory so you'll just have to tollerate what you read,, SO THEN,, The thing in question are the guns from Hong Kong or wherever for that matter RoHS compliant ???? !!! i think not,,, so then will UKARA retailers start selling RoHS compliant equipment,,
I'm pretty sure all the guns are made in the same place, just a few alterations to the UK spec models.
I think it's just better wiring, different paint, a less powerful spring and an extra bit of plastic screwed onto the hand guard to hold the retainer pin.
All good things of course but it hardly makes it a completely different gun.
I highly doubt most guns are ROHS compliant, seems Magpul went a step further than most manufacturers in this department?
(I'm only saying this as I've never seen or heard of another gun being advertised as fully ROHS compliant)

Anyone know of any release dates for the barrel modules?
Or the RIS front end?
I'm dying to get my hands on that
-
Yup, had the exact same problem, twas a problem at the switch in my case.
Gah I hope it's not the switch, did you get it fixed by the retailer or did you manage it yourself?
-
Had a bit of an issue with my Masada on Sunday, it was running a bit hot for the site so I swapped the springs and after that the problem started.
It was randomly cutting out, no grinding noises or anything but it was exactly as if the gun had no battery and after running a few more steps it would start working again but this kept happening every 15-20mins.
The battery wasn't flat and the gun ran fine in between this, same rate of fire and great trigger response. I'm thinking it's definately electrical and my first guesses would be the connector to the battery or the connectors on the motor coming loose. I was quite careful changing the spring and don't think I did anything that would affect the electrics.
I'm hoping that is it rather than an issue with the micro switch. I'll investigate it when I get home tonight, just wondering if anyone else has had the same/similar issue?
Other than that though the gun was a pleasure to use
-
I think they usually have stock issues this time of year due to troop redeployment? (Don't quote me on that though )
-
I'm quite pleased with mine, no problems so far with about 1000 rounds through it
I'm a bit confused about Airsoft Oddysey's guide to the differences between the import and UK spec Masada.
Mine isn't the UK spec, but I have a "silver" cylinder unlike the import in the below picture. Is that just poor lighting in the photograph and the both have "silver" cylinders? or is there maybe a 3rd spec of Masada? My s/n is MPTS00074 which is quite low, so I'd imagine it was an import from one of the first batches, I got it from Land Warrior before they got the UK spec ones in and ether way I'm very happy with it so far
-
Scuffer, any chance of some close up shots of the changes? Would like to compare it to my non UK spec one
-
I still haven't taken mine out for a full game yet but it's been a joy to use in my little practice shooting sessions, really impressed with the range and the trigger response
-
Nice review, sounds like a fun site although it would be a hell of a road trip from scotland
-
I got my FDE Masada yesterday, didn't have a chance to play with it as all my batteries are wired for Deans
I've changed the masada to deans though and I can't wait to give it a good work out next Sunday! I don't have any washers on my barrel but it seems to sit quite nicely with almost no wobble at all. There are a few mold lines, but nothing worse that I've seen on any of my other guns.
Only fired off about half a mag in the back garden at 10pm last night but it was a joy to shoot
The only thing I don't like about the gun is that it has made me put my beloved SCAR away for awhile
-
LandWarrior have them in stock and ready to go
I know, it's damn tempting to take a trip there tomorrow and I'll be playing there on Sunday anyways, was going to try hold out for an FG one from Dingodogs though but the suspense is killing me lol
MagPul PTS MASADA ACR
in Rifles (AEG)
Posted
All that article says is that they are no longer outsourcing manufacturing but it doesn't specifically say they are already using their own manufactured gearboxes in the ACR yet. It seems to point more to the fact that their new Proline AEG's will be manufactured by them and maybe have a bolt stop feature like the marui sopmod but it doesn't exactly point to the ACR, although I can now see how you are putting two and two together.
