Aesthetics. Simple as that. I quite like the "FDE" bronze coloring. There are many options, but most of them are made for race guns, and for some asinine reason is usually a bright shiny color of some description - blue, silver, red etc. It's asinine.

To be fair, both the HK417 and FN SCAR uses STANAG mags as well. So... just buy a TM HK417 and be happy for the rest of your life!

Had a go at painting my newest HK416 - the black was getting old... Fairly happy with the paintjob on the HK416. Might have to repaint the rest of the doo-dads to match it

Repainted my SFW, and had a go at painting my newest HK416 as well - the black was getting old... The SFW needs an Aimpoint Comp2 in an ARMS M68 mount, and a Laser Devices OR-6 light. Fairly happy with the paintjob on the HK416. Might have to repaint the rest of the doo-dads to match it
