  1. nice, the wood kits are awesome sigma. I wish I had a bit more money, I would get myself a set as well. I'm thinking I would probably get a cyma akm or something and strip the paint and use some bluing chemical along with the wood kit.. It would look awesome for sure. btw, the galil doesn't look half bad. I'm kind of a purist, but the rails seem to fit well.
  2. I was just browsing some real steel ak parts today and found this pretty cool veteran ak wood kit set on Apexgunparts. I thought it was too cool to pass up posting here. https://www.apexgunparts.com/product_info.php/products_id/2034 These would look pretty epic on a ak project gun. Especially since they likely saw some real combat.
  3. Realsword Type 56-1 with two years of hard use
  4. Very nice tishina. looks great on the 74u. I assume thats one of those made by candyman?
  5. Update: after finding out airsoft megastore sells the SRC's, I went ahead and ordered one along with a set of the standard mags. I really wanted the retractable stock version, but my best best would have been to order from Asia (adding a lot to the shipping costs). So my question is, how compatible are the retractable stocks from various brands such as ICS, G&G, CA, etc...? And if they are compatible, which have the strongest construction? I'm guessing G&G but I really don't know for sure. The reason I ask is because I'm told the SRC's are highly compatible with real steel parts,
  6. Just curious how well those 50 round mags worked out for you. I'm interested in getting the SRC mp5 since the new ICS looks like it will be far too expensive, not to mention some of the parts look like *suitcase*. Also, which retailer did you order from? I've only found the gun available from gunner and airsoft global. And the mags, from airsoft megastore. Thanks in advance. Great review btw.
  7. frogfish, I had the same exact problem when I got my T97 full size. The thing with realsword barrels is they have an extremely tight tolerance of metal between the outer barrel and inner tightbore barrel. When they first install the tightbore, they spray the outside with silicone oil which almost gives it a suction to the outer barrel. I thought at first it was glued on, but I just kept wiggling and tugging with the hop-up unit and eventually the whole assembly came free. Of course I imagine you were probably worried breaking the damn thing (as was I) but everything was fine after I got i
  8. Wow that LCT AKMSU looks very nice. I have been tempted to buy one of these in the past but now I really want one! great pics. Edit: I'm curious, does the folded stock get in the way while using the foregrip? It does look like it is set somewhat low although many underfolders seem to have some play in their stock.
  9. ahhh didn't realize the GHK was available for the Realsword. In that case, I retract my former comment
  10. Depends on the brand. STAR/ARES 105's work beautifully in the Type 56. I have also modified some MAG AKM Bakelites to fit in my 56-1
  11. Excellent choice my friend. Realswords are fantastic guns. Just do us a favor and put the proper magazine in the well
  12. Looks great. I would love to make my Type 56-1 look similar. What kind of wood stain did you use? Also I'm assuming the pistol grip had to be modded to fit properly on the receiver. If so, how was it done? Btw I don't know if you can get a compatible AKM flash hider. I tried using the element one but once it is screwed all the way in, it was upside down. If you can convince realsword to send you the RS 56-2 front sight, they have built in AK nubs for flash hiders.
  13. I bought a set of 4 realsword mags for my Type 56-1 and ended up selling them within a month. They are really only worth using in Semi-auto. I figured it might just be bad bb's that I was using but I then started playing with KSC bb's and still had problems. If your looking for mags that will feed well in a realsword, you'll want to look into getting a set of STAR( now ARES) 105rnd midcaps. There are 3 type 56 users (including myself) on my team and we all swear by the STAR 105 mids.
  14. hmm thats odd... There are 4 Realsword users on my team including myself (t 56-1) and there really aren't any problems with them at all (one of them was from the first production line over a year ago and it has been used in skirmishes almost every 2 weeks since it was purchased). It is true that sometimes the hop-up unit is a little finicky but it is superb once you get it set right. The hop-up bucking is the only thing I can think of that might need an immediate replacement. So yeah, these guns are awesome. Once you buy one you'll love it. -Diezel
  15. nope, just do the nub. Here is a pic of exactly what you need to file down. Of course it has already been filed so I dont have a before and after.
  16. I have the CA G3A3 with a set of King Arm mids. They are plastic and will need modification if you are using them in a CA. You'll need to file or dremel down the square nub sticking out on the left side of the mag so that it is flat with that whole side of that mag. I also found that if you have feeding problems with the mags, you can slightly file the bb stopper (since it is very tight on the KA mags) and you will feed much better. Hope that helps, -Diezel
  17. I know it probably been mentioned before in this thread, but what brand of G3 mags are those in the pic above. I've only seen the king arms ones available, however these one look much nicer. BTW, that is a very nice G3. I would love to own it although I already have a CA G3A3.
