Alright, here is my made up situation that explains why its a shotgun. There is a real steel weapon, the AK-10, a semi-automatic 10 gauge shotgun. It was designed by me. The prototype was made, but the weapon was never fully produced. I made and airsoft replica of the prototype. Therefore, its a replica of a shotgun, and is an airsoft shotgun. long story short, I made it. I get to call it a shotgun. haha

Technically it is....the determining difference between a shotgun and a rifle is that a shotgun has a smooth bore barrel. So Technically, all airsoft guns are shotguns lol As for having to be 400-500 FPS...not really. It wouldnt be different than use any other AEG on semi auto. It is a shotgun. Changing the mag of the gun and changing the function of the gun are two totally different things. AEG shotguns do exist now, and it has range. I made it happen the way I wanted it too. Thats like saying a semi-auto shotgun that fires slugs isnt a shotgun. If I took a Maruzen M1100 and loaded one BB into each shell, would it not still be a shotgun? Yes. I fitted an M1014 around a V3 gearbox, with the bottom piece of an AK-47 body to have a place for a grip, stock, and hopup, and the whole front end is custom. This is my first custom build, I am very happy with it.

I modded an 870 pistol grip to fit today my DE today. It was extremely easy with a dremmel. The only problem I would see is that wood would be harder to shape...but definitely doable. Definitely. Im confused...in that bottom picture is the thing to the left of the pistol grip the screw that holds it on? If it is, its not compatible with airsoft grips. No clue when it comes to real ARs

Its a pistol grip, which should answer your first question lol I figured out that the hose somehow got worked loose, I took it apart and pushed it back on all the way. It worked itself looks in less than 15 shots, but now only leaks a little. Teflon tape will be on it soon enough. Who has used an external air rig on this gun? I want decent range with ~8 BBs. Decent as in 70-80 feet. I dont play CQB, but I want to skirmish this. I may pick up a Tanaka M500 for longer range....not sure yet. Plans so far are EdGI barrel, folding stock, and a metal body. Maybe you guys can help me with my new M870...(Maruzen) The gas tank holds gas fine, but whenever I put it in the grip, is expels gas freely until its either empty or I take it out. I tried putting it in and all kinds of angles, nothing is working. The gas is shooting out of the top/bottom/sides of the grip. Any ideas?? I got it to go in properly one time out of at least 25 tries. When I did, I took it out and put it back in the exact same way, and it didnt work.

I need some help guys.... I installed a PDI 6.01 on my CA870. I had to drill the hole in the outer barrel because the outer diameter of the new barrel is slightly larger. Anyway, if I were to install a G&P front kit, what would I have to do to get the inner barrel to fit through the hole in the outer? Is it any bigger? Is it metal? That might cause me some problems....
