  1. Dangit, threads like this need recaps every 20 pages, I'm only on page 30 :(

I really gotta look into getting one, likely magpul it, I've got the bug. But first I gotta finish this thread to even know if its worth it!

  2. Anyone ever thought if you could figure out how to increase the mag capacity in the M500s? I was thinking the feed tubes have to come into the body at some point, and those BBs have to turn up into a chamber or something, perhaps you could skip the feed tubes, and reroute a feed tube from a magazine attached to the gun, up to the chamber.

  3. Are CASV rails the only rail sets that can fit, or is the top rail on a SIR rail long enough to work? Basically, I need to find a rail that can be used for the improv'd RIS that will be large enough to reacgh around to rods sticking out just above the trigger, but under the safety

  4. Just had a thought. The system is by Tanio Koba and KJW just manufactured them. The system used in AGM/JG/G&P/Inokatsu is still referred to as WA system, right?

    ;)

Before this thread was in the double digits even I had someone make me that, I had the same thought process as you norman, but I don't want to sport the banner around until I own the gun. Which i will.

  5. I would imagine a box or c magazine would be easy enough a modified BB path and a magnum coldshot in with it or a custom tank, then all you have to worry about is cooldown.Annoying blackberry, so hard to do anything!

  6. to the OP or anyone this may pertain, I didn't find the direction of any threads, or if there is any. Judging by the fact it had a flash hider and you took it off, I assume it has some.

Also, can it use any aftermarket barrels? What cut type is it.

And if the parts are gonna get made, I would definitely but them, i would love to have one of these.

  7. Dang it, dang it, dang it, dang it! I want a KJW so bad, but if they are gonna stop the import, i doubt I would get one in time anyways. I guess now I'll have more money to spend on some MC gear <_<

  8. I don't want to go way off topic here, but after looking through this thread among others. I still have no definitive answer. I see you posted some links for shops. I bought an WE M4 before the stop in importation; I know the importation of WA and WE M4's were stopped by the ATF here in the states. Are KJW GBB M4's still going through? If so what other company's are still getting M4 GBB's ATF compliant? Thanks "K"

I haven't herad anything about this, if so, that sucks. whats their reasoning to singling out the GBB M4s?

  9. Thanks for the pics, man, looks great. But it looks like its missing its selector switch!

I thought further on it, since the G3 lower is plastic, could you just carry over the PSG1 lower to keep the looks right, and use a Mosfet, thus looking and performing semi only, only problem would be the selector could slide further then it should.

  10. So do Thermolds fit in regular M4 pouches? If not I can use the AK pouches I have. I think because of the fact this gun is the only GBBR yet that has hold up to any substantial amount of BBs stock, makes it a winner for me. I mean, I'm fine with opening up and having to work on a gun, but not as soon as I get it, I want it to last long enough until I'm fine with opening, it, I prefer to open it when I feel I want to then have to straight from the box.

Also glad theres no way these thermaolds are gonna turn into TherMelts like what happened to some real ones with FA

Whats a good place overseas to get one, the only stateside place I found is Airsplat, and to be honest, their service is sub-par, and I would rather go elsewhere.

  11. DO real steel grips fit? You mentioned some grips, but you didn't say if they were real steel or airsoft versions.

I think I may be looking into one of these, the price is okay, I was gonna go for the AGM M4 until I read that the BBs just roll out when pointed down. My only quirk is it doesn't have a working bolt catch.

Also, do you know if the CO2 is reinforced in anyway compared to the GG/propane version, or is the only difference in the mags they bring?

  12. I'm no expert on Mosfets first off, but I think Ab is simply to stop the motor from over spinning, by applying a small electrical charge in reverse, to spin the motor the opposite way just enough to stop at the right time, and this is supposed to help the teeth of the gears. With a regular set-up I believe this eliminates the need for an ARL, but in a precocking system, unless your gun is feeding enough energy to the motor to keep the gears in place, you would need an ARL to do that job. BUt you could still use AB to stop it at the right point at the end of the cycle to prevent unnecessary wear and still have precocking.

You could still use AB in a precocking system, because the way a precocking system works is it cuts the circuit as the piston comes to its highest point, at that point using a Mosfet, it should be made to apply the AB at that point, meaning stopping the motor to prevent gear wear.

    I hope I made sense?

  13. I think if I were to put it into sniper limits i would have to use either standard or low cap mags, which since the G3 mags would hold more than either, I think I would be stuck with using PSG1 mags. Of course if I drop down to DMR limits I would get half as much MED, and mid caps, which means I might be able to get by with G3 standard mags in that case.

So it might be better to just go with G3 mags in my case.

  14. Bore-ups do work in longer barrels, however just because of the PSG1 cylinder's size it will be much more consistent to use a PSG1 gearbox if you can find one. And that pre-cocking system is awesome. I can't get over it. :D

BTW: If you are trying to mix the two because you are worried about parts breaking or the gun itself not being strong, its a very sturdy gun. And the externals are actually very nice. I figured I'd have a G&G metal body on there so quick, but I was impressed with them so the body can come a little later.

I was more of wanting it for options, rather than knowing basically all there is in way of other parts is other systema FTKs. I never liked the precocking system on my L85, but I'm sure with an AEG sniper rifle its a blessing, since you will never be as quiet as a spring sniper rifle.

I think what I will be doing is getting the PSG-1 first, and make my decisions from there. Unfortunately the computers on its last legs, so I may be spending my gun funds on computer funds :(

BTW what pouches work with the PSG-1 mags? I was thinking pistol mag pouches

  15. Nah, I mean the blowback is. Its a PITA for me since I'm always worried aboutt breaking the blowback. And a new gearset is $130. I did find one on Zaisoft for $115 which is a bit better but still kinda steep.

I've never heard of the PSG1 locking up since its so easy to fix if the gun does. (release switch)

Ah, I didn't know about that. Well, I like that better then the L85s solution.

Mating a PSG1 front to a G3 mech is not a wise choice. It is because the standard AEG mech cylinder pushes less air than the amount required for the PSG1 barrel to function optimally.

You can do it the other way around PSG mech/receiver to a G3 front by drilling a part of a receiver underneath the magazine release lever. That will give you super optimal performance :)

But wouldn't a bore-up kit get me more than enough air output for the regular length barrel? I thought bore-ups were good for barrels up to a 650mm barrel, or am I off?

  16. I was amazed with the PSG1 hop-up unit.

I would just go straight for the PSG1, that gearbox is guaranteed never to break, although, the system itself is kinda a PITA. I do love the precocking system.

I think its been done before. I'll edit the guys username into this post for ya, I know he had one and changed it back to a G3, maybe he still has the PSG1 parts that he would sell you.

EDIT: His username is mikoyan99 talk to him and ask if he still has the PSG1 parts.

Thanks for the lead, I'm waiting for a reply. Anyways, everyone has been telling me to get the full gun, I have worked on L85s which I assume is similar, I do like its precocking system, but do hate it when it locks up, was that what was so bad?

  17. I have a plan to mate a CA SG1 with a TM PSG-1, kinda like what was already mentioned before, but reversed. I want to fit the hand guard and barrel, and stock, of a PSG-1 to a CA SG1, thus I will have the ability to use commonly available parts. My plan was to use the metal cocking tube from the CA in place of the PSG-1, but also use a G3 chamber block, but with the PSG-1 length barrel. I realize that structural integrity is a big issue.

Also, I was planning to take a look at the PSG-1 hop-up. I know that it is in the same position as a regular G3 hop-up, so space permiting I may try to keep the original hop-up, and trim a conventional air nozzle to work. Reason being is I have read the PSG-1 hop-up is one of the best, correct? If not, the g3 hop-up will be fitted and a PSG-1 length barrel will be installed. Of course, I will install the necessary bore up parts to get the air output to match the barrel.

I plan to buy the Sg1 maybe later this year, and see about finding someone wiling to part out a FUBAR PSG-1, and if all goes well, see about getting a MThaynes GB and some serious upgrades. Included will be a mosfet to keep it semi only, along with a Lipo to cut down on necessary battery space.

I think this plan covers my bases, I haven't had a lot of time to look over either of these guns, and I know they won't just go together, I'm planning on having to do some modding, but to anyone who has handle either, can you tell me what your thoughts are?
