  1. Picked up a Crye Glock Holster today for 1600 Yen($17.00 USD)

I thought it was a good buy so I felt the need to pass it on...

    IMG_1150.jpg

It fits ANY glock with ANY light!

    IMG_4455.jpg

It adjusts left hand, right hand, draw angle and belt width. This is all done with ONE screw.

    IMG_4454.jpg

I was told KSC/KWA glocks may be a tight fit, but I had no issues.

    IMG_3509.jpg

Basically a plastic clip holds the trigger gaurd and top of the slide while a rubber strap secures the gun.

    IMG_4453.jpg

To draw, use your trigger finger to pop the snap like so...

    IMG_1151.jpg

There is a split in the belt clamp it will dig into MOLLE webbing or a BDU style belt. A thick Duty Belt may cause problems.

So basically for less than 20 bux you can carry any Glock. Not my first holster chioce but now I can go crazy with my Glocks and have at least something that will carry it with on to the field. That's what you call a "win"

  2. It is claimed that through the use of slow start up that the trigger contact arcing is reduced.

I don't think that the main benefit of this product would be the mosfet but rather the ability to add burst function to your AEG along with ROF adjustment and lipo low voltage cutoff etc etc simply by connecting a small inexpensive board to your existing battery and wires.

  3. Got one the other day. I only have a TM SIG552 that doesn't already have a MOSFET so i figured it was a good candidate for this. (on a side note, I got the SIG for 5000yen($55 bux!)

Shipping and correspondance with Kong was excellent. Shipping was less than a week and I live in JAPAN! Got mine here...

    http://www.aegwizard.com/

The unit appealed to me mainly because of it's simplicity and the fact that you can buy 1 unit and use it with all of your guns.

The unit comes with decent instructions and is fairly simple to use. I wish the SIG had more battery access/space which would make the use of this unit easier. Perhaps and ak would be good since you could pop the top cover off and take care of buisinesss.

The unit comes with Tamiya plugs. In the future it would be a good move for Kong to offer the unit with deans as well. For me it is not a huge issue, but if the name of the game is simplicity and ease of use, then some users would be turned off at the prospect of changing out battery plugs.

    IMG_0673.jpg

    Couple of minutes later...

    IMG_0674.jpg

    Ready to go.

The Unit is easy to set up. This is the LV model so it has auto voltage cut off for lipo users.

When you plug it in you just pull the trigger and hold within 5 seconds of plugging it in. The motor vibrates to announce the voltage. This disables the full auto function in burst mode but it can be reset by unplugging for 2 seconds after the voltage announcement and then reattach and don't do anything else for 5 seconds. Took me a minute to get it right but I eventually did.

The burst function reminds me of the TM SIG 551 burst chip. You turn a tiny potentiometer to set your burst count(see video)

I haven't tried the sniper 1 second delay mode yet.

One major complaint that I have is that the semi auto gets jacked up when you use it. It skips a shot if you attempt to pull the trigger rapidly. I thought it was in sniper delay mode, but it wasn't, that is just how it is.

Here is a quick video of the unit in action.

    th_MVI_0676.jpg

All in all it is a good option for those on a budget or those who want simplicity or quick and dirty burst function.

Semi auto users beware , you may be annoyed by the semi auto delay caused by this unit.

  4. Thanks!

The Jacket is a Patogonia Gen III Windshirt which was issued to me by the USAF but they won't allow me to wear it in uniform?!

I am wearing a Ranger Green USAF Fleece jacket under the windshirt.

The pants are LAPolicegear.com's "Operator" pants in OD Green

  5. Trigger Control!!

Sometimes I see guys that have a great backround and good composition but then when they hit the shutter release button they

are suddenly stricken with cerebral palsy! Slowly and deliberately squeeze the shutter release being careful not to shake

the camera~! Follow through! just like shooting a gun! Why? because Blurry\soft images suck!

    Do this...

    IMG_8807.jpg

    Not This!!

    IMG_8808.jpg

    Lighting

Generally speaking most in camera flashes suck. Try not to use them if you can. In most cases they will over expose certain

areas of the gun and look unnatural in general.

Try a steady hand and lots of natural/artificial light. Turn on all available lights or take the "subject" outside instead.

Flashes aren't all bad, but techiniques like bounce flash and using diffusers gets complicated when you are trying to evenly

    distribute the light.

    Do this...

    IMG_0550.jpg

    Not this!>>>

    IMG_0548.jpg

    Focus

Most cameras have a "half shutter" function where metering and focus take place. Try to use it. Once the camera indicates

it has focused(usually a beep and a green box on teh focal point), keep your camera steady and slowly deliberately depress

the shutter the rest of the way(sound familiar?)

    Do this...

    IMG_0551-1.jpg

    Not This!>>

    IMG_0552-1.jpg

    Tripod and Timers!

These two things will greatly improve your shots! Even a $1.99 flexy tripod will do wonders. You can get a decent Beginner

tripod for less that $20 bux. Once you have your tripod set up and aimed at the "subject" use a remote or timer to take the

shot. This way you will garuntee that your hand will not shake the camera at all during the shot. Keep in mind that some

flex leg tripods may take a few seconds to settle out after adjustment. Allow time for this before firing off the shot.

    IMG_0557.jpg

    Some key things....

ISO- Is just like film speed. The higher the number, the quicker shutter speed you can use, which equates to a less blurry

shot. Keep in mind though, the higher the number the more grainy the shot will look, the lower the number the clearer the

    shot will be.

    Do this...(100 ISO)

    IMG_0554.jpg

    Not this(1600 ISO)

    IMG_0553.jpg

Shutter speed- This is the amount of time the shutter stays open to expose the shot. You want this to be as quick as

possible generally speaking. If the shutter opens for 2 seconds, then any movement or change in that 2 seconds will

represent a blur in the picture.

Apeture value(F-stop) This represents how wide the shutter will open. the lower the number, the wider it will open, which

will allow you to use a faster shutter speed. if you zoom in though, you may lose some of your AV adjustments.

This is it guys, just a brief guide to get you in the right direction. Hope it helps in some way!

  6. This takes me to Backround. This is everything else in the picture that is NOT the "Subject." Just a little effort here

    goes a LOOONG way.

Let me give some examples of HORRIBLE BACKROUNDS IN AIRSOFT!!!

    -Your dirty unmade bed!

    -Your Dirty Carpet/Floor!!

Let me give some good examples...

    - A variety of related equipment like a Tac vest, shemagh, uniform, backpack etc etc

    - Any clean plain backround that doesn't distract the viewer from the "Subject"

If you have a Bad *ss $10000 dollar GBB M4 with a poorly composed distracting backround, you will not win. Sorry.

    Do This!!!

    IMG_5171.jpg

    IMG_8029DesktopResolution.jpg

    DON'T DO THIS!!

    IMG_0547.jpg

    IMG_2030.jpg

If no backround is available use the floor, but make it look clean and uniform as possible like these...

    IMG_2447.jpg

  7. Airsoft Still Photography 101!!

Ok well the winter Build Off is rapidly approaching and I feel a quick guide to Airsoft still photography is a must!

I'll keep it simple. I know most of us have basic photo equipment at best. I have some serious stuff, but that doesn't mean

that I can't rip off an amazing pic with my $100 Canon powershot point and shoot! You can too!

    IMG_1850.jpg

    IMG_0556.jpg

First thing on the list is Composition. This is how the "subject" is positioned in the picture. As a general rule of thumb,

you want to fill the viewfinder with as much of the subject as possible. Nobody wants to see a 5x7" picture of your dirty

carpet with a 1x1" pic of your replica in the center. You have wasted the rest of the picture!

Try to fill the viewfinder corner to corner like this. Try to get sweeping angles and triangles when possible.

    IMG_9413.jpg

    IMG_9384.jpg

    DON'T do THIS!!

    IMG_0545.jpg

  8. thanks, The barrel has MEU Markings. The chrome is well done on the barrel, but a roughly machined chrome metal bushing seems to scratch it everytime I fire=( The Hammer chrome seems to be done well but there are casting marks/lines showing through the chrome. For 13200Yen It was a good deal. These Marui's can't be beat as far as stock performance.

  9. I disagree. The balance of trigger response(torque)/ROF with the RS motor is great.

This T97 in particular is running so smoothly, it would be a shame to F*ck with it. It snaps out bb's as fast as you can pull the trigger. 20 rps is good to go. He is already going to have to change mags every 5 seconds as it is. ;)

  10. Golgo 13, i can't be leave i missed that the other day in your gun room :wacko::wacko:

I like the magpul for grip you added.

I could have sworn I showed you that? Maybe w/o the AFG, I don't know, so many people fingerf*ck my guns I can't keep track anymore haha!

so you removed the bit that required the removal of the mechbox screw? Can you take a shot of the area please? I'd like to have a look. Thanks.

I knew someone was going to ask that when I posted those pics. I shouldn't have been lazy and did this earlier, but oh well. 3 pin takedown FTW :D

  11. So I threw that 5KU hop up in. It seems like a good unit. I had to remill it a bit to delete that portion of the hop unit that screws onto the mechbox. There is no solid way to get that to work so for get it.

here is the modified 5KU unit.

    IMG_5157.jpg

Here is the ARES and the 5KU side by side. Just by looking it seems that the 5KU wins over the ARES due to the funnel shaped feeding area.

    IMG_5156.jpg

A quick shot of the new ARES bucking.

    IMG_5158.jpg

Here is the 5KU with the required parts from the ARES unit.

    IMG_5159.jpg

Here is the 5KU in the gun.

    IMG_5160.jpg

How does it shoot? Pretty good, but the KA fake bullet maga zine still doesn't want to feed. =(

  12. Dr. PP, The only propietary parts are the selector plate, the spring guide and trigger switch. If you added a Marui shell, you could use Marui selector plates and spring guides etc etc

Punky, The G36 did not come with a grip. The strange looking grip is a Magpul AFG(Angled Fore Grip) which was designed to facilitate the famed "thumb over bore" style of weapon hold.
