  1. LBT's Multicam 6094As are 500D, while the Slicks are 330D. At least the one I ordered for my friend a couple weeks ago was 330D.

Jimmypie, that's some hot kit. I might have to copy you ;)

So, you're saying, their website is a lie? You ordered directly from LBT?

  2. i cant believe ima ask this; but that are those ? (i know lowers, but for what and made by whom)

    :D

In the firearm world, Magpul made a handful of these "Chinadoll" lowers (for AR15 firearms) a few years back and distributed them to employees and company friends. They differed from their regular billet lowers because of that Chinadoll marking. Needless to say they are very rare, and whenever one comes up for sale, the asking price is high. I mean, much much higher than what you would normally pay for a good quality lower receiver. Very much a collector's item.

As far as I know, soon after that (2009-era), Prime made a handful of copies of the Chinadolls for the WA M4. I think when they were new, they were about $100-$200 more than the price for other Prime WAM4 receiver sets (which was already around $500), but unlike the real Chinadoll lowers, you could actually get them.

But a long time has passed, and, as far as I know, they are out of production (as things generally go with Prime) and have been for several years. I rarely ever see any the Chinadolls come up for sale. The Prime receiver sets are really pricey, slow moving items, and you can see that several HK dealers still have Prime normal Magpul receiver sets from way back when, but I'm sure the Chinadolls sold out relatively quickly.

While not to my personal taste, certainly a sought after piece for Magpul fans.

  3. In the spirit of blatantly showing off expensive things, a few things bought at a time when I had far more disposable income:

To be fair, if you count the KAC panels, the GBBR itself is over $1K. I've been photo-whoring this particular gun out lately, only because I recently moved and am separated from my cache :( . On another note, with the exception of the pack, the gear in the background, plus way way more, will be on sale soon, along with other ###### already up for sale (hint, see signature).

  4. Like Agent Hunk said, the ICS is ancient doesn't look nearly as nice as hwagan's. I'm certain it's not.

I have an older VFC, it's certainly nice, but super pricey. I don't want to ruin the resale value by painting it. There were some newer ACM copies that looked similar to the VFC, so I was wondering if that was it, so I asked.

  5. I am using Windows 7 and Chrome.

First issue: I've noticed that when I am typing with formatting (i.e., bold, italics, etc.) and in a situation where I have text with different formatting (i.e, some bold text, some normal text, etc.), when I press "Backspace" or "Enter", the cursor will first move to the position immediately after the last space and then perform the operation. This is somewhat annoying when typing lengthy posts that require formatting (i.e., a For Sale thread).

Second issue: If at all possible, can we remove the time limit for editing a post? I know this may be a performance issue, but can we at least extend it? In the context of For Sale threads, it would be ideal to keep the original post updated as items are sold or become available again. Obviously this is impossible if I can't edit the OP. For instance, can we get an edit period on the order of months for For Sale threads, as opposed to hours?

  6. I doubt that the Iron Airsoft Kit is even close to being "exact", as compared to the VFC one.. As I recall the IA kit, didn't even vome with painted trades ;)

And as far as I can see on the pictures and videos of the "new" VFC, all the trades are correct - at least they are exactly the same as my old VFC AEG with correct trades (ableit the serial is different ofc - but starts with the correct 88-0xxxxx - Just as the real one B) ). The only thing I can see is wrong, is the dust cover wich seems to be made of plastic(and with umarex markings) - but that dosen't matter, as long as you can change it for the real deal :D

First off, a lot of the 2011 and beyond era HK416s and all the MR556 (US civi version) come with a plastic dustcover.

Second off, there are only two major faults in regard to authenticity with the Iron Airsoft kit: (1.) The HK AF mark on the upper receiver should be white laser etch, not deeply engraved, (2.) like you mentioned, serial number does not begin as 88. It is annoying that the trades are not filled in from the factory, but it's fairly easy to do yourself and get the colors exactly right.

  7. Here are my other two HK's

    First, an UMP45 by G&G

    (SNIP)

And second, a HK33a2 by CLASSIC ARMY (plus an USP Tactical from KSC):

    (SNIP)

I love this gun, i thing it has the finnesse of the G3 in a more compact and agressive format. Its a shame no other big company ever released a more refined version of this (and i guess the same could be said of the G3...).

So awesome. I really love the wear on the UMP, looks (and probably is) like actual use. And who doesn't love a good HK33?

    Drake:

Nice HK416. I think the HDR images may have been slightly misaligned.

  8. Very nice! It looks like the cut-off and the diameter reduction was done on lathe?

Was the threading turned on the lathe or did you use a die?

EDIT: Nevermind, just saw your post on GGI. That came out pretty clean for a die, but since you already have lathe access, I'd have turned the thread, especially if the lathe was CNC. Is this your steel barrel or the stock aluminum one?
