  1. The cylinder and bolt handle on that thing look like they could be made out of steel... In which case that thing is an instant buy for me. On a side note, now that I have been a happy owner of a Silverback SRS for a few years, it really bugs me that these classic rifles don't get made with a similar build quality. I'd personally be more than happy with a price tag similar to the SRS, if all the load bearing components would be made out of steel. With the SRS you can just cycle the bolt away with no worries of something breaking. The S&T Kar98k is otherwise good but, as the bolt handle
  2. Yep, I used to go through a pair of Hatch gloves per year but the Ironsights have been holding up really well. I also really like the palm side "sticky patches". Gives you a really good grip on both metal, plastic and wood and retains it even when wet. Being silicone(or similar rubber material), they naturally wear out, but not as quickly as one would think.
  3. I'm surprised Outdoor Research Ironsight gloves don't really get mentioned in glove recommendations more often. My current pair is about two years old now and has seen weelky skirmish use and they are still holding up pretty well. Awesome gloves.
  4. Looking to buy a G&P M733 AEG. Or more specifically the model with the A1E1-style(A1 rear sight with forward assist and case deflector) upper receiver. I'm trying to build a Colt model 723, so I can take the right type of metal body and/or outer barrel also. Condition of the gearbox and other internals is not a factor. I will pay appropriately for a nicely tuned gun, but I'm also quite comfortable with doing work with the internals. As long as the externals are intact. Can be spray-painted and scratched, but not broken... I can also consider other brands, as long as the upper is the A
  5. Well, I put in an order and a little while later received and e-mail stating that everything I ordered were out of stock. And my Paypal payment was returned/rejected. So I ended up not getting stuff, but didn't loose money either. I guess that counts as a positive experience..
  6. Thanks for the info, mate.. I think I'll give it a shot. Simply because this old-school G&P-stuff seems to be pretty hard to get these days.. And paying with Paypal always has some additional level of comfort.
  7. https://gpairsoft-uk.com/shop/en/ Does anyone have any experience regarding this retailer? Looks to HK based, despite the name. I'm trying to put together a Colt model 723 and the G&P M733 would be a good base gun to start from. These guys seem to have one in stock, but as I have no experience with this retailer, I'm hesitating on putting in an order.
  8. I'll give it a try once the new nozzle arrives. Thank you very much for all the good info, kind sir!
  9. KY apparently has pretty nice customer service. I contacted them and within a few hours received a reply directing me to the correct item(it was listed as a nozzle assembly) on their website. Placed an order right away and ordered two while I was at it. Now I just have figure out how on earth I'm going to get the nozzle return spring installed back between the slide and the BBU. Does anybody have a good technique for that?
  10. Oh yea, the loading nozzle is cracked. Big crack on the side facing the slide, so it's pretty much impossible to see just by taking the slide of the frame. Any idea on where can I find replacements? Looked at KYairsoft, but they don't have part #48 listed at all..
  11. Yep. Travels maybe a couple centimeters..
  12. Found out something. Apparently the slide does not properly engage the valve knocker reset lever when it's travelling back. Going to have to investigate further.
  13. Well, I got my mak about a week ago.. ..and it's not working too great. Trigger pull produces one flying bb and empties pretty much all gas in one go, mostly blowing back from the action below the slide onto my hand on the pistol grip. After that one shot the gun and the magazine are both pretty cold. Any ideas on what might be wrong? I tried swapping out the barrel and bucking to a Maple Crazy Jet and Autobot, but the OEM parts looked to be slightly different, so I swapped the OEM parts back. Pretty sure I did not mess up anything, as there's maybe 5-8 parts involved after disassemb
  14. My four PTWs, with a couple of extra uppers. All rail systems, lamps and optics(apart from the scopes on top of the SIR-16 and the SPR-upper) are real steel.
  15. I'd say the easiest way to avoid any messing up would be to carefully plan your painting in advance. So decide what you want to paint, with what colours and what kind of colour scheme, before spraying anything. Always remember that many thin layers of paint is always better then one thick one. Good basecoating also helps and good masking of areas not to be painted is also a must. For example, when I painted the VSR, I removed the stock and barrel completely and painted them separately. It's also good to prepare the surface for painting. With the VSR, I simply slightly sanded the entire stock s
  16. Why, thank you.. It's actually rather easy to paint something like my guns with just spraypaints, but it's a rather time consuming job, since each coat of Krylon must dry for a couple of days berofe it's ready for recoating. I also have a wood stock(real wood, of course) for the M14, so it's usable with my Vietnam-themed loadouts also.
  17. No paint on the EBR, but the other two are Krylonized.
  18. Finally got my fourth(M16A2) and fifth(CQB-R/LaRue-upper) PTW's. Oh well, the lower reciever of the fifth one was actually saved as spare parts and not assembled, but still.. Two other uppers(M16A4 w/ ACOG and the standard M4) are assembled from separately purchased parts. All rail systems are RS. All optics, except the scope on the SIR M16, are RS.
  19. Marui M14 with G&P EBR-kit.
  20. Finally got my third PTW. With A.R.M.S. #59C S.I.R. Scope is Mojji Hornet 3-9 x 40.
  21. Sorry for the delay in replying. Been out of town and away from my computer.. Jambo5000: Why, thank you.. dolla blitz: Sorry; my only one, so I need it myself..=) SilentScope: The 553 stays very firmly on the PTW. No wobble of any kind. And, since it's a little higher then a 551, it's better to use with the ACOG, witch was one reason why I replaced my old 551 with the 553. Just required a lot of practice to aim with the 553 when the ACOG sits in front of it.. The other reason was the battery type. 553 uses the same CR123A-battery as my Surefire-weapon lights(M910A and X200B
  22. Well, here's my contribution to this thread. Nothing new under the sun.. Both are PTW's with RS optics and rail systems.
  23. Here's some pics of my AK's. AKM: RPK: AKS-74M: AKS-74U: All are Guarder steel kits, with Systema internals. The drum mag in the RPK-pic is a Hero Arms one.
