  1. I managed to remove all plastic excedents, mount a g36 siderail, and mount my fts mount with magnifier:
  2. Hi i'd really like to add a magnifier on the strange looking "rail" (think it's some kinde of twist-click-on system), just before the rear iron sight. Anyone knows what fitting that is? Otherwise I'm planning on removing the circular part, which is held by a screw. File down the plastic bits that stick out. and fit a g36 siderail (short) on top of that.
  3. Alright fair enough, no offence, but so far, tsi doesn't do anything BUT selling vaporware.... Hence shipment of their tavor....
  4. hopup unit can't be replaced as it is integrated to the gearbox, but change the hopup rubber for a prometheus, and remove the little pusher thingy, that aplies pressure on the rubber, and replace it by an h-hop (5$ at ebaybanned); this solved all my hopup issues!
  5. yes it does still fit my deep fire m4
  6. after a very minor tweak on the mag with a fille, pmags work ok now
  7. Handing out blowjobs on the streetcorner might get you closer to a tar21
  8. Thx, BBstriker for the trick with the old aeg spring, works like a charm, mag release is uber stiff now!
  9. NOOOOO, get this loctite bolt locking stuff, works like a charm, use it to "glue" your cogwheel, but be assured it can be loosened again:: this is the stuff: http://www.bikernet.com/garage/loctitetech.asp You'll want the blue one, cause it can be loosened again if needed, the red is very, near impossible to get loose again!
  10. Probably the cogwheel on the motoraxle which came loose and shifts along the shaft.
  11. See previous posts; some of us seemed to find the hopup quite hard to get "just right" it was always too less or too much. But thx to the small and cheap parts i added, mine is ideal, just like my Deep fire M4. and i gained even more range.
  12. My order from ehobby arrived; all for the Tavor: a G&P CREE led 170 lumen flashlight. A prometheus soft hopup rubber, and an H-hop hopup buckling. Hopup isues are solved, it's now easy to set up, and thx to the H-hop buckling I have more range now!
  13. I did, but no better yield :-( Steel rayne; sorry, you answered faster than i edited previous post: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UB-4Qsdwz5U
  14. Teel rayne, you shouldn't take everything so personal www.youtube.com/watch?v=UB-4Qsdwz5U
  15. I know, But the Ctar has the Barrel with integrated Mars, and the Ctar is the one Ares is modelling.
  16. I bought the guns in it's whole... Do not see the MARS just as an accesory; do a little research; on the RS the MARS is fixed to the barrel (so infantry can not fiddle themselves on it), so it's an integral part of the weapon. So I bought the "tavor-package". the obvious reason why the MARS is of bad quality, while the gun itself is great; is because Ares had the sight probably made by a contractor company, and Ares didn't really quality checked it, or released it deliberately anyway!
  17. I've paid 96 USD shipping costs, from HK to here, so if i was to send it back and actually GET a refund, i'd still loose the shipment costs (back and forth) which adds up to a total of 192 USD. So the choice was in the ballance, either loosing 192 uSD and end up without a gun, or , like you put it so well "Ghetto"-rig it and owning a great gun nonetheless. I'll see whaat the findings are with the TSI, and if it's really, really, really wonderfull, I might do the same as Hristo; selling the Ares and get a TSI. All I can say again is; Yes the Ares Tavor is a beautyfull and solid gun
  18. You're right. But I am reffering to the fact that people do, in this thread and other "neighbouring" threads, bash the gun. Which is fine by me, except they do not own an ares tavor, or even been in the same room as one, and still they criticize the gun itself, not just the sight issue. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an Ares crusader, far from it, in fact if anyones entitled to complain about the MARS sight, it's us, the customers who paid 500 bugs. What I meant in my reply is that people who do not have that gun or used it in a prolonged time span, should not bash the gun like that. They should
  19. Exactly! The MARS sucks, but the gun's great! Ok, we've paid 500 bugs for it, but hey, I am happy with it since, in my opinion, I'm very pleased with the rest of the gun! And since it's me, myself and I who paid the 500USD, the only person who should or souldn't be satisfied is noone less than myself! So people ranting about TSI is better (this still needs to be seen) or a chinese clone would be better; I have one answer to them: get what YOU think is best, it's your choice/money/time/whatever. This thread is about ppl who give their opinion about the ARES tavor, and who actually OWN one.
  20. attached a G36 RIS rail on the right handside, just above the handguard, so i can fit a tactical flashlight.
  21. I would advise caution with a 11.1 lipo. I use an 7.4V lipo, and it works like a charm, the ROF's about in between what you get from an 8.4V and a 9.6V. The hopup is similar as an M4's hopup. But I don't know if it'll perform any better with just another buckling.
  22. I agree with al the above! May i add; i find the hopup reall hard to get right, it's always either too much hop or not enough.... BUT it's a great gun. WHere did you get such a spring, Hristo?
  23. Did the same as Puding, use the hole closest to the rear sight, then drilled an extra hole in correspondence with the rail. Didn't have to dremel anything. Neovenom: You maybe have lots of G36 rails lying around, but i know you also have a lot of g36's lying around ;-)
