  1. Also http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/marui-rear-sling-adaptor-swivel-m4-and-sopmod no idea if it's proper QD, not got one myself.
  2. This may be relevant to your interests: http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/marui-m4a1-recoil-sopmod-upper-receiver-part-ngm4-11-mgm4-5-mgm4-4
  3. Would you believe it doesn't fit? Too wide by a fraction of a mm.
  4. Speculation: From what I've read about the RECCE rifle I would guess that Madbull sub-licensed their DD rights to TM who then either made the rail system themselves or farmed it out. Found a likely candidate for the tool required complete removal: http://www.gp-web.com/en/productspop.php?pid=2006 Not sorted out those photos yet, sorry!
  5. I've had another look at it this morning. I've removed the gas block (single grub screw). This is where is gets fun - it appears that the rail is secured in place by a locking ring similar to the one used on the buffer tube. This screws on to the barrel nut that screws on to the upper receiver. It can't be easily removed as it is obstructed by the rails. I'll try and get some pictures of the exploded diagram and the actual assembly but they'll probably be phone camera quality.
  6. For the purpose of comparison: http://www.madbullairsoft.com/English/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=22_24&products_id=272 http://www.tokyo-model.com.hk/ecshop/goods.php?id=7228 Key thing to note is that where the trademarks are on the Madbull system, the RECCE rifle has venting holes. The venting holes on the top and bottom for the RECCE rifle are the same diameter as the holes on the centre cylinder, whereas the Madbull system has different sizes. For reference, the RECCE rifle has the following trades visible from the top of the rail system: LITE RAIL 10.
  7. Has anybody else picked up a recce rifle? I'm having an issue with the rail system, the top and side rails appear to be oversized. Magpul XTM panels don't fit, front ironsight was reluctant to go on the thing. The rails are visibly thicker and wider (on the sides) than the upper receiver rail.
  8. arne71, the Laylax parts are Prometheus branded, so no need to worry about that.
  9. A quick follow up on my earlier post where I was getting +50fps over spring rating with a bunch of Laylax internals, firefly hop and prommy 603. Refitted with the original spring before a skirmish, getting consistent 340fps. Put around 2000 rounds through it over the course of the day, left it for a couple more weeks, still shooting 340fps consistently! Bit odd but can't complain. Getting just shy of 14 rps at the same time (on 8.4v NiMH). Hopefully it'll be shooting a bit more accurately now it's had a chance to bed in, rounds were going all over the place at the start of the day.
  10. Figured it was about time I manned up and took my SOCOM to pieces, so today I finally installed the upgraded spring and a few other bits and pieces. Firefly Soft Hop Rubber Firefly Flat Hop Nub Prometheus EG 603 Barrel Laylax Piston Head Laylax Sealing Nozzle Laylax Cylinder Head Laylax Hard Cylinder Laylax Spring Guide Wasn't sure what to expect from the Laylax parts as I pretty much searched for 'SOPMOD' and bought all the upgrades that showed up on a (very expensive) whim. Chrono'd at stock with 0.20g it was consistently shooting 285-290 fps. With upgrades and Eagle6 M100 it
  11. So I've decided to jump on the bandwagon, ordered myself an M4 SOCOM and a load of magazines. Got an Eagle 6 M100 spring, cheers Richard! It's turned up today so I figure I'll shove a 9.6v mini in this thing and see how it shoots at stock. Wait a minute...
