  1. Part list on that SD please!

    Specifically the flashlight mount.

The SD is a standard ICS SD3 externally, internally it has had a few modifications and upgrades to make it quieter, optics wise I've just got a standard G&P Aimpoint rep with a low rail and a Surefire 6P classic with a rep tip-off filter, the mount is one of my own designs/products which is why they won't have been seen anywhere else before.

Rob - Can that mount be adjusted for any taclight or is it specific for yours?

Can I put in an order for one for my G3SBS?

The mount is setup to take standard 25mm/1" diameter body taclights, Surefire 6P/9Ps will fit happily and most other standard sized taclights will fit as well, although some where the body is out of spec will need a thin shim or two (which will be provided with the mounts) to space them out enough for it to clamp properly.

The silencer ring is similar, all airsoft silencers seem to be out of spec somewhat to what they should be so the ring has been made to fit the larger ones and then use thin shims to reduce it down for any that are closer to the size they should be as needed, basically a case of trying to make them so that they fit the mount amount of MP5 SDs as possible without straying too far from my original design. I've got to get a few things sorted and finalised this week and then borrow a photo studio this weekend for proper pictures but I'm planning on getting them on sale on the 1st Feb, I'll probably post a thread up in the news section with the full spec then.

@Rob15, that's an awesome SD. Looks great with the short mag. Are there any plans to create such a mount with a rail underneath (to attach a Surefire M600 for example) and make it commercially available?

Maybe, maybe not. It is too early in the day to say wether that will happen although it is a possibility in the future to alter the design slightly and replace the ring with short a milspec 20mm rail section.

  2. I simply mean that the best record of out past conduct isn't some warn list its our previous posts.

Do you seriously expect mods to look though upto 5000 posts (and probably a lot more counting sections where posts don't increase post count) though? The warn points system is easy in that respect as it highlights past issues for moderators and can help with taking future action especially if a member continues to do something they have been warned about before.

From what I've seen people do get warn points reduced for good behaviour as it is and personally I don't see any need for a change to the current system.

  3. Who makes those? I know surefire made something similar for a time, but I'd thought they'd discontinued that.

Surefire did indeed make an MP5 SD taclight mount, and you are correct in saying they are discontinued, although even when they were in production outside of the states they were quite a rarity. I don't think there ever has really been a common and easily obtainable proper purpose made mounting system for the MP5 SD (Except the Surefire if you wanted one when they were in production and lived in the states) although that should change once mine go on sale.

Those mounts (The one on my MP5 SD3 in the picture above) have been designed by me and are CNC machined specifically for me in England, a few adjustments have had to be made to the original design to account for out of spec airsoft silencers but the first very small production batch may be ready for sale in a few weeks ^_^

  4. @ Rob 15: My mags don't leak at all when filled with green gas/propane. Only try red gas if you want more blowback or FPS and your magazine doesn't leak on green gas/propane.

Green gas has a pressure of about 120psi at room temperature if i remember rightly, Red gas has a pressure of about 150psi again if i remember rightly.

If your mags don't leak on green it doesn't mean they won't on red gas, its higher pressure so there is a chance the mags will start leaking regardless of what they do with green gas in. Saying they'll be fine if they don't leak with green gas is like saying mags that hold 134a without leaking will be fine on green, not always true...

  5. Are you sure red gas is such a good idea?

If mags are leaking on green they'll leak like mad on red gas, if they hold green ok its possible red gas could push them a bit far and cause them to leak.

Also with reports of mags swelling up with green gas i'd be concerned about the safety of red gas and the potential for them to explode.

Not to mention the most important point (sort of), red gas is usually much more expensive than green gas or propane, in the UK its nearly double the price of a can of green gas and about 6x the cost of propane!

  6. Well the thing in question is the currency convertor that sits on the side bar on the forums (very usefull considering the nature of airsoft) which reloads every 15 seconds iirc, although it doesn't load at all for me anymore for some reason :(

If you don't want to see it go down to 'Skin selector' at the bottom of the page and select 'Arnies - Without sidebar', that should do the trick....i think

  7. Depends who you get to do the work, what products you do, what tooling needs to be purchased and how many prototypes it takes before you get to a final product but it generally can be expensive to setup, some products very expensive.

And you have to remember, anything you do, any R&D to modify products could all go to waste very fast if the pesky chinese decide to copy you.

  8. Well i can say now that metal bodies will be far too expensive to machine, however it should be possible to machine just about all of the internals from a variety of materials with a little redesign here and there.

2 of the parts i can almost certainly say will go into production, quite possibly next week for the simpler part of the 2 :)

  9. Not as such, i'm putting my money down to pay for setup costs and do production runs of them and i will be selling them . They've already done a run of one part for another pistol which is just awaiting anodizing and they are looking at knocking up some prototype parts for other guns. Essentially it'll be the first proper UK airsoft manufacturer :D

  10. Nice review. The bolt carrier looks like a softer metal than maruzen use, the Vz61 runs on a similar system and aside from a bit of wear on the finish mine shows no real wear at all after about 18months.

Horsem4n, and anyone else for that matter, aside from metal bodies and bolt covers what parts would you like to see made for this? I am already looking into getting parts machined and will be visiting a local engineering company again next week ;)

  11. Awsome, I have time :) can't wait to see the pics, can you take pics holding it in a shooting stance and tell me if it is awkward to shoot / hold with the drum..whether a broom handle would be in the way or not easily used by the shooter as well?

Having owned a single drum mag, a c-mag and now have a mosmag i can safely say they all get in the way, a vertical grip is the best bet tbh, mounting one on the side of an RIS doesn't help at all imo.

  12. If you want an MP5-style lower on a G3, the easiest (but not the cheapest) option would be to buy a G&G Polymer Lower Receiver for FS51. It fits TM G3's (not sure about CA), and it has that neat MP5 look over it.

I'm thinking of buying one myself, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I can confirm that they do fit CA G3s as well, infact they fit the CA G3s better than the CA G3 lowers do!
