  1. Where's Titleist's Jack Bauer pic? Yaesu radio, Sig, mushroom cloud.
  2. Nice, thanks for the video. Price?
  3. Thank you for the compliment.
  4. I almost spit soda at the monitor just now. That's some funny stuff, 900 bucks US for a receiver for a toy gun...no matter how cool the gun might be, it ain't $900-for-an-aftermarket-receiver cool.
  5. Add 'remove grub screw at bottom-rear of sight tower'
  6. lefty-loosey (counterclockwise)
  7. Those designs have been around for what, 8 years? 6? Something like that. It'll get ironed out, I just don't like being the one that gets boned while these guys make their money and make 'new' versions that look like ###### with better internals. I know, don't be a first adopter if you don't like it. Well, sue me for complaining a bit. I put a bunch of effort into the review and I get to kvetch a bit if I want to. Okay, all better. I didn't really keep track of gas consumption. Gas use did not change in my book. I didn't do anything to recoil spring, etc., only barrel length.
  8. Good thing I bought the first generation model so that I could guinea pig their piece of ###### bolt stop and then they could QC it after the fact. Good job, Classic Army. I mean, WA. =/
  9. Finally made some time to document (photographically at least, I have yet to write the copy) the process of installing the RA Tech hop up unit. Very simple installation, nicer fit than the stock unit. My magazine is at a friend's house being drilled, tapped and fitted with an external QD fitting. When I get it back, I'll start testing. In the interim, I'll write up the copy and post the install guide and my observations. Review portion will have to wait obviously.
  10. Not AEG or Hi-Capa compatible. It is its own design. I don't own a WA pistol, but I've seen the barrels before and suspect that this will be similar to a pistol design.
  11. I'm not familiar with the DD or LaRue RAS units, but if they're not a barrel nut in and of themselves, the stock gun can accomodate real forearms with the addition of a simple spacer. See the first picture of my review (MRFS on there).
  12. You bought a broken gun that someone else couldn't be bothered to fix. All the answers to the questions you ask are found in this thread. I posted a fix many pages ago, as well as that that can be found on the forum indicated above. What kind? An AEG sling adaptor? If so...yeah, no, that won't work. My Midwest Industries buffer tube adapter works just fine. As for the RAS, that's been covered. Add a spacer between the outer barrel and the barrel nut to get it close enough to spec to work. I have a Samson rail on mine that fit with a 15 cent o-ring added to co
  13. Nice looking weapon. As you point out, that won't work. There is a series of roll pins and a fatter, solid pin that hold the baseplate and the front channel of the magazine in place. Make sure the gas is vented before you start removing roll pins. Ask me how I know.
  14. All, Been going through some personal ###### lately that has completely zapped ALL of my airsoft and tinkering time. RA were kind enough to send me a T&E unit and I will conduct a review as soon as things settle down. Apologies for the delay and thank you for your patience.
  15. I'd like to see the external magazine adapter, if you don't mind, Bababooey.
  16. Have you disassembled your magazine? If so, you may have reassembled the top bit out of alignment (as I did once). If the top plate of the magazine is not aligned correctly, the seal you're talking about will sit too high and not allow the bolt to move freely. I had the same issue and took out the two hex screws on top of the magazine, removed that plate, reset the plate correctly and it worked fine after. Hope that helps.
  17. Similar to that, yes. The WA has a very long fill valve assembly and the threads are very fine as well as being recessed a ways into the body of the magazine. Going to take some effort. I know when I'm outmatched, so I handed it off to the machinist.
  18. I should clarify what I mean by kit. This is a 'plug-in' fitting to the gas fill port on the stock WA magazine. The 'kit' I'm talking about will be a simple replacement for the gas fill valve to employ an external line feeding the gas magazine so I don't have to butcher a $100 magazine to convert it to external air. I play as a Designated Marksman pretty much exclusively, so what I think will work as a DM will likely not appeal to most players. 50 rounds for me is about a whole game worth of shooting. 50 rounds at DM velocities with no cooldown is what I'm looking for. If nothi
  19. RA Tech are sending me a hop unit for T&E. I will document my observations and post them as a separate piece. Thread in external air conversion should happen on mine in the next few weeks. Mike (proprietor of righthookfabrication.com and one of my co-captains) will be doing the project. If there's interest I'll see what he might want for an external kit. Just need to hand off the magazine and probably buy him a big ole steak to get the project underway.
  20. drdude - See the original review for a walkthrough of how to attach real rails. In a nutshell, the barrel nut is not built to spec. Add a spacer (I used an AEG piston head o-ring) to correct the headspacing of the barrel nut and real accessories drop right on.
  21. Again, 'hop up collar' is a misnomer. The hop up unit is one piece, the adjustment dial is another. Part of the hop up unit breaks off. People have been calling it a collar, but it's just the rearmost part of the unit. From the picture I saw of that black metal unit, it's what you need.
  22. Cool. That's a WA mag in there. Looking good. Hopefully it's a substantial improvement and doesn't introduce new bugaboos.
  23. Hop up unit in brass is fine. For the bolt stop I think it'll be too soft.
  24. Payne, yes. It's skirmish ready out of the box. Removing the hop up is pretty straightforward. See my post a couple of pages ago where I provided instructions for swapping inner barrels. Wow poison, sorry to hear you've fallen out of love. I understand the frustration. The hop up isn't useless. I get 220-240 feet of flat, very accurate flight out of mine (sorry Trasher, no groups. It's a great base for a DMR though, trust me). The hop does have issues, though, I grant you that. I had magazine issues, but I tinker with everything regardless, so I just fixed the thing and it's
  25. I had the original stock barrel in there when I chronoed the gun for the first time at 392 or whatever it was. A true CQB/10.5" length barrel (the stock one is shorter than the outer barrel as you probably know) would get you up over 400 fps. The M4 length barrel that's in the gun now is a one-off 6.08 (measured) brass barrel that I had turned on a lathe and milled from an AEG inner barrel that I had laying around. Edit: Just received an email from Redwolf advising of an article on the internals of the magazine. Nice read if you haven't already taken yours all apart to litt
