  1. Look closely at the second photo I posted before to see the G36KA1 markings. The G36KA1 has the current style with the HK above the model name. The older style are only found in older G36 models made before October 2000 or so. I can provide photos here, or by PM if you wish.
  2. Panoptes, your collection makes me OD with envy! Just for the sake of perfection (after looking at your L85A2, I'm sure you will understand my nerdiness), your G36 still needs a few details fixed to be a G36KA1 replica: *Change the G36 stock for the shorter one from the G36C *Shorten the outer barrel by ~1cm or so. The airsoft replicas are longer than the real deal! *The G36K flash hider isn't the right shape. The closest airsoft replica would be a G&P one with the 4-points filed and rounded. Even better would be a KAC G36 flashhider, but there are no replicas. *SEF trigger g
  3. The real one made by H&K has an anodized resistant finish, is three times more expensive, and the screw holes are slightly off between the real G36 and a AEG body. It can be attached, but it would need a bit of work. The Begadi KSK rail is just painted matte black, cheaper and easier to obtain. Your call.
  4. Hi angel_wings, did you read my message?

  5. @Panoptes Nice G36K, I love that real steel upper rail! Sorry if I sound a bit pedantic, but that's not really the Classic Army G36K RAS, it's the G&G one, and totally unlike the real steel made by KAC. For the "G36KA1" look, change that RAS for the CA or SRC (both still slighly innacurate, but at least with the right holes/rails) and the stock for the shorter one of the G36C.
  6. This is the first of a series of official H&K G36 instruction videos on youtube: You will find depicted all the handling procedures, but beware the eurotrash techno music
  7. Very nice indeed, but be advised of this: "Never fire the gun with the bolt locked back. The anti-reversal latch will be disengaged, allowing your gears to spin backwards. This puts a lot of stress on them." Taken from: http://www.spearairsoft.com/Ares_G36_Review.html
  8. Other Star/Ares guns behave the same way. Out of the box work well, but once you open it to change something different of a new spring, or put a battery above 9.6v, problems appear. My G36 was accurate and did around 330fps when new (perfect for our local power limits). Then I tried to put a tighbore barrel and it became a ~200fps peashooter. At the end, I discovered that the hop up chamber was out of spec and a bit bigger than it should be. It did't work correcty with anything other that the stock red rubber and inner barrel. I think most Ares guns have nice externals, but average i
  9. At a game yesterday I brietly tested a brand new G36C from another player. Looked solid and well built. The blowback was nice. Not like a GBBR, of course, but not as weak as it looks in the youtube videos. The other guy was happy when I told him that under the ugly color sticker there were engraved markings, like the ones of my own Ares's old model G36
  10. Interesting, if the barrel trunnion is strong enough this is a total winner in my book (if a magnet sticks to it, it should be steel). I've seen several G36K with broken gas assemblies and barrel wobble after a bad fall. I guess it's not in the same level as the RS Type 56, but I think the new Ares G36s looks as if it can withstand more punishment than Marui based ones. Thank you NikE! Now, it seems that Ares is going to release the new one piece barrels as aftermarket accesories: http://www.aresairsoft.com/g36acc.html And clone B&T handguards! YAY!
  11. Hello everyone, first post after lurking for some time One of the problems with the G36/G36Ks based on Marui's G36C design, is a weak barrel assembly and wobble. They have a barrel extension screwed into the G36C faux gas piston assembly (made of monkey metal and plastic). This easily allows to change a G36C into a K, for example, but leaves unsupported the barrel and it's not true to real steel. These new G36s from Umarex/Ares look fantastic and very realistic, but I would like to know how solid is the whole barrel and gas piston assembly. ¿There are any barrel wobble? ¿How strong is
