  1. So that's now three screen protectors I've messed up trying to fit them to my phone... Is there some black art to fitting the damn things without getting grit underneath them?

    1. Gunmane

      Gunmane

Do not even get me started on screen protectors. Phones, handheld game devices, pretty much everything with a screen is damned with or without one.

Don't get tricked into letting a phone shop employee do it unless it is clear they have a working brain.

I don't trust anyone but myself to touch my tech.

No shop-monkey is getting their hands on my brand new phone.

I'll just keep trying until I get it right

Damnit, I was praying to Tzeentch not Slaanesh. That explains everything!

Nah, if you do that you get nowhere as you have to paint a chicken blue and throw it into a combine harvester and that is just damn messy.

Let your shower run on hot to steam up your bathroom, then do it in there. Apply it from one side to the other, then use a credit card to get out the bubbles.

  3. So people keep saying that PTS Airsoft is in trouble... What's going on?

    1. aznriptide859

      aznriptide859

Apparently PTS has lost its BattleComp and Magpul licenses, and have pulled all their Magpul products off the shelves at their HK store.

    2. RWJP

      RWJP

May be wise to pick up the MagPul PTS stuff that I want for my rifle fairly soon then!

      hawaiianjuggernaut

@azn whut? PTS without the Magpul? That does not make any sense.

  4. Finally managed to get it into the 3 Sales person on the phone that I wanted my PAC, not to buy a new phone from them... Blimey, 3 Salesmen are serious persistent!

  7. The life of a Lumia 800 owner... "Oh dear, my Lumia 800 has run flat and won't charge even when i plug it into the wall. I suppose i'd better get the hair drier out to warm it up and hard reset it... AGAIN"Seriously, who at Nokia allowed this pile of ###### to get through Q&A? Who in their right mind would design a phone where you can't replace the battery, and then install the shittiest in built battery known to man?

    2. RWJP

      RWJP

aznriptide, the battery isn't the issue... The circuitry that controls the battery is. It's a known fault in the earlier Lumia 800s that the phone allows the battery to drop to such a low voltage level that the circuit that charges it back up again doesn't work!

The only real way to fix it is to warm the battery up until it is HOT so it's got some life in it, and then attempt a hard reset of the phone!

    3. Azubi

      Azubi

That is dodgy as! As if they didn't do any tests of that before they whacked it into production

    4. RWJP

      RWJP

      Apparently not...

It's a shame, because in pretty much every other way the phone is excellent.

  8. Why do PTS not appear to offer an AAC Mini4 Suppressor with a CW threaded flashhider? I don't want to have to buy the CCW version, and then pay out more for the correct flash hider as well!

    1. hitmanNo2
    2. RWJP

      RWJP

*facepalm* Ok, next question for you... Why do they offer all their other suppressors with a choice of threading, but not the Mini4 :P

    3. hitmanNo2

      hitmanNo2

Now that is a good question.

  9. So, after Dad having to chase up BT after they failed to phone us about the new internet service we ordered from them, they're going to actually bother to install it! Woohoo.Oh wait, nevermind, they're not going to be here until the 3rd of July!By that point, it will have been over a month between our Virgin Media contract ending and our BT service starting... How in this day and age is it acceptable for it to take a month to set up an internet connection!

    1. FireKnife

      FireKnife

Takes them about three weeks to actually get to my work, then a further month to install, sounds about typical for them.

    2. Tom Andrews

      Tom Andrews

Bizarrely, having complained to Talk Talk about the non existant connection and failure of my ADSL, an hour(maybe less) later a BT engineer turned up and replaced the line from pole to house!!

I was fully expecting to have to complain about them taking weeks.

  10. Why on earth are suppressors so expensive?

  11. Trying to decide whether to buy OD components for my rifle, or stick with black.

    1. RWJP

      RWJP

Black looks gorgeous, but i've seen some truly mouth-watering pictures of rifles with OD furniture... I can't decide!

    2. Leon Kennedy

      Leon Kennedy

OD! Especially if its magpul. OD on black is so cool, and for most fields it's effective.

    3. TheFull9

  12. So, in a move that is sure to shock the entire world, Microsoft has demonstrated a modicum of common sense and has removed some of the utterly moronic restrictions that it was originally planning to implement on the XBox One... I predicts pigs flying and hell freezing over within the hour!

    4. evansy

Or retailers threatened to stock less xbox consoles and games if there were restrictions on them being able to sell them used and make massive profits vs Sony's used policy which was business as usual.

SLI it and you'll have power akin to a 680.

Wheezing and weering on then, ive given up with new games as they just disappoint me so i have no need to upgrade anything untill half life 3 comes out!

I really wish I had the cash, and the space in my PC case for a 680!

  17. Woohoo! MSI actually offers GTX660s that are short enough to fit in my case! Now to find the cash.

  18. Be gentle:

First review of a product I've attempted... It's passable, but I missed out on a lot of stuff! Feedback appreciated

      NonEx

I give this my official seal of approval! Very good for a first video! Don't worry about the small mistakes, it just means it's not a robot or commercial review.

      Thumbed up and commented!

  19. Typical, want to go out and do stuff today... RAIN

  20. Mine has just arrived from Combat South who have it in stock for £39.95 + £5 P&P. Initial impressions are good. Light output seems impressive (tested in my pitch black loft) when using a fresh Duracell battery. Build quality is pretty decent as well, although the thread holding the head of the torch to the body is incredibly short, so a knock might do some major damage. Biggest issue I have with mine is that Cross bolt for the mount spins freely, so it's very difficult to really tighten the mount up onto the rifle properly. I'm going to be getting one of the Gear Sector/HSP/LaRue low pro
  21. Element Surefire M300 Scout Light has arrived. Rather impressed actually! Now to sort out a low profile mount

  22. Some of the suggestions for the next Doctor are utterly moronic... So far i've seen Billie Piper, Jenna Coleman, Derek Jacobi and Russel Tovey suggested... All of whom have had major roles in previous episodes! Whilst Steven Moffat doesn't always make the right decisions... Even he isn't stupid enough to hire an actor/actress who is already well known in Doctor Who and have to try an explain it! I can just see the headlines, "Why is Rose Tyler now the Doctor?"

    server busy

Same experience here. Plenty of "server is too busy" errors over the last two or so days, a couple of SQL errors as well. Two nights back I was unable to access the site between about 7pm and Midnight.

Forget the ASCU ,too many failiures. Try and get a BTC Chimera.

    2. RWJP

      RWJP

Again the BTC Chimera has the whacking great control chip that would have to go in the stock tube. I simply don't have space for that and batteries!

It's a shame the AWS series of Mosfets are no longer available.

I've had the same issue before. BT kept trying to blame it on the house wiring, and then one day we magically get a letter from BT saying that they're doing maintenance on the line. After that we have no internet drop outs at all. GG BT :-/

    3. RWJP

      RWJP

I'd love to get a letter like that!

We're switching over to BT Infinity 2 shortly, when the engineer comes over, i'm gonna grill him about the awful noise on our line.

      -Drake-

Good luck with that I canceled and switched 3 months back and I'm still getting ever mounting bills and threatening letters from them for internet I'm no longer getting....
