  1. LOL! i just pumped a few hundred [hi-cap + a half] through mine just now. still very sweet. the feed tube does look like its chomping away at the remains of the [plastic] lips of my hi-cap mag though.. i find a slap on the bottom of the mag allows the mag-release catch to click back and secure the mag. otherwise its pretty hard to keep seated in everytime.
  2. very very nice bunch of accessories you got on there - what battery are you using?
  3. WOW! some nice kit you've got on there!! sweet guns!
  4. @ shinjit noir - i havent chronoed it yet but it sounds nice so far. it isnt stock btw, i had it 'downgraded' to comply with most uk sites, so it has a 1j spring in it. battery - size hard to say. they do have a custom type battery for it but i didn twant to go that route. i also didnt like the way you had to unscrew something [the screw that keeps the barrel in place] to get the battery in and out. so i went for my AN/PEQ battery box which i normally use on my M4 carbine - thats a 9.6v and it seems happy with that. havent tried any others. battery connector is the mini type.
  5. hmm i rarely take my things apart - i dont trust myself to get it right when putting it back together.. hopefully someone else can take photos of a stripped piece. meanwhile, i found this pic: http://www.varusteleka.fi/tulossa/starguarder_m14sopmod.jpg dimensions: 1754 x 1240 pix
  6. -Drake- : http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/erol/erol.html Solo, Thanks matey - theyre okay pics - i dont have access to a studio or anything at the moment so i have to make do with my table at home.. at about 5am this morning.. (heh, i slept late..) followed by many hours fixing the shots in photoshop! if i hadnt fixed them in some way the pics would be quite alot worse! you can see the lighting is a bit too directionally strong and uneven. i could do with a softbox actually.. i also had to lighten the pics a bit as the gun is quite dark [well, dark grey or just black]
  7. LOL! its okay, i still got the other one too..
  8. heh, i posted elsewhere but.. .. a 5am jobbie.. sorry for spamming my pics..
  9. Real Steel shots for comparison: (From Troy Industries website, SOPMOD M-14 gallery zip) thats about it i think...
  10. magazine inserted at the time of the shots was an AirsoftClub M14 Hi-Capacity.
  11. ... battery compartment, bottom rail attachment points visible: ... ... outer barrel grub screw: ... flash hider grub screw:
  12. detail shots: .... ... hop-up adjustment: heat shield assembly:
  13. Star SOPMOD M14, with external accessories: Aimpoint RDS, low scope mount, vertical grip, AN/PEQ box. Overall shots: top: bottom: 3/4 views:
  14. quick closer shot: flash hider and expansion chamber appear to be one piece, held in by one grub screw.
  15. was yours stock spring, or taken down to 1j or the m100? - if from zero one that is - i dont know who else stocks this. production was supposed to have stopped sometime ago.. amen - star/guarder have done a good job here. agreed - i like working parts on my replicas - even better if theyre functional in some way [like on gbb's].. no sling point is indeed a neg - ive seen a fair amount of different ways of doing it. i dont have the right sling right now, but i'm looping mine around the strongest parts of the gun[and not just using RIS sling points as i couldve easil
  16. aha, i see what you mean - i wasnt that close attention.. interesting, why is the one on the left shorter in all dimenions than the two on the right? i must admit, the SOPMOD is cool though!
  17. or just shell out for the G&G Scout.. then transfer your RAS from this to that..swap the heatshield-for-barrel-mounted scopes onto this one..? heh, lots of different opportunities coming out these days..
  18. ahh, thanks for the info on the sight. yeah, an eotech sort looks the must nuts - probably only because we're so used to seeing them on weapons in photos, much like the aimpoint was. the SOPMOD m14 is *heavy* so i dont know if it'll be any major benefit - its trading either length for weight and vice versa lol... yes, the downside to the star model is no moving bolt, dummy rear sight [but then theres no forward sight so no loss there], and no select fire. but it does look cool and you have all the rails you need.. oh and the battery issue too.. solved by a PEQ but it makes it very
  19. hmmm i cant tell if i'm engaging it or not.. yeah, reminds me weight-wise of my top m60... its pretty heavy to shoulder for long periods [i know, i'm a pen[or mouse]-pushing wimp..].. incidentally, zero one provide a printed hardcopy version of the Star online manual.. other points: the rear sight appears to be a dummy, and the screw was loose on it as well. the outer barrel can sometimes work itself loose - you can just twist it back, and then *probably* tighten the grub screw under the heatshield to secure it again. the heat shield appears to be normal
  20. i found adjusting the hop a bit odd - i cant tell if i have grip on it or not.. and its 'fookin' 'eavy... [eg. not a lightweight weapon..] atm i cant tell if the gun is shredding bbs or whatever im shootin at is...
  21. looks like a harris bipod.. [i think he mentions it in the first post] again, very good photos, and its looking quite sexy althogether! not seen that kind of sight before..
  22. thought this might be of interest.. hmmm.. change the knackered PEQ...
