Why did you go with the DDM4 instead of LaRue? Looks really rad, though. A classy rifle, all in all.

I've only had one mag since I got it, which was close to a year ago. I've only ever had to do a field reload once. And, like I said, you don't need a TBB. Nor do you need a specific brand of bbs. This isn't a Ferrari, this is an airsoft gun. As long as you give it decent ammo, it will do what you need it to. Also, I ran mine stock for at least 5 or 6 months without problems. The only reason I got the upgrades was because I saw Raven1's tests, and wanted mine to stay in good shape (though he's definitely pushing it more than I have). Again, seriously, if you prefer the look of o

Well, I love the AR-15, so that's why I went for this. I love all the options. I love the style. I love the firing mechanism. Et cetera. If you prefer a different type of gun, don't let possible problems from a weapons platform deter you -- you might be sorry in the end if you don't like the way your weapon looks. If you like the look of an M14 more, get an M14. This is airsoft -- if you weapon dies on you, you can fix it. It won't be prohibitively expensive, and it won't put your like in danger to have a faulty gun. That said, reliability is nice. I chose the KJW over the Viper and ot

T_hum said a while back that mags will be coming out in STANAG form (did I hear PMag too, or am I mistaken?). Otherwise, you'll have to look around for the regular mags. The carrier extension takes stress off the buffer detent so that your lower receiver won't break. It's probably not necessary in the short run, but it's an easy and cheap upgrade that will extend the life of your lower receiver.

People are getting their rifles, so as long as you order from a reputable retailer, I think you should be ok. Apparently the RA-Tech upgrades are sub-par. I've heard that their piston x-ring is ######. I'd stick with what is proven and made in USA -- t_hum's Cradle Airsoft parts.

I got mine from Airsplat with no problems. So, that is what I recommend. I originally used .28s, but ran out, so now I'm using .25s. There's not enough of a difference to me to justify buying more .28s right now.

You can get a TBB from t_hum, though it's not necessary -- I haven't noticed that big of a difference between the standard and the TBB. You can also get a velocity reducer (which I don't use) for places with FPS limits. Otherwise, there aren't any necessary performance upgrades to my knowledge. The mags take GG, yes -- I use propane with a drop of silicone oil, which is essentially GG.

I made the opening wider and deeper than it needed to be -- it loads the mag without a problem. I'll get pictures later today.

I've widened the opening on the mag loader cap using sandpaper, in order for it to fit a speed loader -- now I don't need any other tools! I only have one mag, and people with high-caps run out of ammo more quickly than me.

It's not, I just make one build for RS and make a copy of what I like onto my GBBR, or my AEG. I find a set-up I prefer, and use it for everything.

Ok, so from last night until just now, my KJW GBBR has gone from this: To this: In response to just receiving my RS LaRue handguard. It is awesome. And I definitely enjoy SBRs -- the other one was a bit too heavy and "out there." Now I need to replace the grip with a MagPul MOE or MIAD -- wasn't there some problem with those on the KJW? I am putting either my Troy BUIS or my LMT BUIS on there, and need to make a FH work with this incorrectly-threaded barrel. Thoughts?

It should come off. Just try wiggling it to get it to loosen. That's how it works for me.

If you take the buttstock off (pull the adjustment lever instead of squeezing it), there will be a screw head on back of the buffer tube. This hold the buffer spring (which is very large) inside the tube. Remove the screw, but keep that in mind. The buffer tube external should then slide off, along with the plate.

As soon as someone gets one, please post it up here. If it looks good, I might go for a spare. I'd prefer CNC aluminum, but whatever.

I've been skirmishing multiple times with the rifle, and when things go poorly, I come up with a fix and move on. I do, however feel wary sometimes -- there's an Operation this upcoming weekend, and I want to use my rifle, but don't want it to explode. I am seriously considering getting an AEG of similar performance and appearance (except for the FPS) for when this happens.
