  1. Plastic lugs on the mags are a dealbreaker for me. Hopefully someone will make an aftermarket mag with either metal lugs embedded in the plastic or just part of the inner mag casting... Theres no excuse to leave such a flaw in the design of the mag, especially when they cost so much and a broken lug will make them useless.. I can see it in $10 AEG mags, but, damn, I would get a little mad if I snapped a lug on a $40 GBBR mag.
  2. The original is actually in 5.56. I use the same bulgy mags in my saiga and they do not like being cut... Honestly, I think polish steel mags in FDE or even galil orlites would look pretty awesome on a magpul AK, probably better than the bulgy mags (especially the BP ones, they really didn't do a good job if they were going for an accurate replica) I'm also thinking about remaking my magpul AK on a GBBR platform once WE comes out with a full stock receiver (hoping for an AK74 with the 'magwell' and selector from the AKS74U), after they work out the typical 1st gen WE issues of course. Hopeful
  3. I love how the bulgarian boosters look on short barreled AKs.
  4. Working on plans for a viable left side AK selector switch. Right side would control safe/fire while the left side will control semi/auto or burst/auto smililar to a WZ88

Not from excitement, but from realization that Duty Car is coming.

The duty car guys are pretty bro. They mostly just shake their head when I tell them what I'm up to these days.

  5. My AK is an 040B and it does indeed have steel body.
  6. Foregrip is a modified Arsenal RPK style grip for the Saiga 12, added the rail and RVG. So much better than the Ultimak for handling.. Still need to find a black stock though. Also, it has begun.
  7. CYMA did it right and used a sig hop-up though. Great looking gun, wish I could track one down!
  8. The main problem is that the rail system makes it a bit front heavy, even with the ACS stock. If it was more balanced I don't think I would mind it being heavy. It's a bit of a pain when you have to climb in windows and over walls all day, and it's not like I need most of the rails anyway. I think that PEQ is the first thing I've ever put on the side rails and I can always replace that with a small light/laser on the top rail with a dual pressure switch when I need it or want to show off in the parking lot or something. I'll agree that bulking up a bit wouldn't hurt, though
  9. Pine Plains 5 was a blast, 21 hours of play showed me I need to shave some weight in the gun region. Probably moving to a CAA railed handguard, RVG, and CTR stock.
  10. The only problem I've had with mine is the rear sight block broke so it no longer holds the leaf spring. Seems like a common problem with the CYMA AKs since they use pot metal for the RSB. I'm going to try to pin mine in place this weekend, other than that I'll have to try to find another RSB that will fit.
  11. Built this CA AR10 for a friend, BP midlength barrel with PTS midlength handguards.
  12. GI has the Dboys mk17 for $160 right now, $40 off because the stock doesn't lock in the folded position, although apparently people have been fixing that by tightening the brass deflector from the inside of the body. Thinking about jumping on one tomorrow when I get paid, just waiting to hear from polarstar to see if I can get a fusion engine in there. EDIT: also, evike has a 25% off sale today, you can get the VFC for $300 shipped.
  13. Speaking of Mk17s, does anyone know if theres a way to modify SR25 mags to fit the VFC and clones? They would look so good with the PTS LR20s...
  14. got a Dboys mk16 body with junk internals for $20 yesterday, now to fix it up and add all of the magpul.

  15. Theres a picture of one in the review thread iirc.
  16. Keeping the PX4 train rolling. This is easily the best shooting stock GBB I've ever owned or used, and it's pretty damn comfortable as well.
  17. I should be finishing a middy CA AR10 build for a friend next week so I'll get some pictures up then. Personally I love 7.62 ARs without rail systems, the only exception being anything with a URX.
  18. PX4 just got here! shootan' some cans like a boss

Anyone know of a HK or US shop that has the nine ball chambers in stock?

  19. I know! He hates retractable stocks though, I couldn't talk him into it. I'm building him a midlength front end on his CA AR10 next with a bit of magpul next, should turn out pretty well.
  20. I cooked up this monstrosity a few hours ago for a friend. Liquid wrench is my new best friend.
  21. Marui PX4 for $150 shipped? Thanks ASGI!

  22. You should be able to do something similar for that, just put the shim on the receiver where the tab on the back of the mag locks under the catch.
  23. ok, I fixed the mag wobble on my RPK. All I did was take a piece of brass shim stock (1"x2") and fold it in half to make a double-thick 1" square piece that won't fall apart. I gorilla glued it into the magwell. I found a nice little gap between the bottom corner of the receiver and the reinforcement plate, so I wedged it in there and folded it over so it's held tightly but still has a lot of contact with the sides of the mags. I don't think I'll need to mess with the mag catch at all, and if I need to make the magwell thinner I can just slip a piece of shim stock between the folded layers of
  24. I think mine might be the mag, I haven't been able to find a place where it will consistently feed.
  25. Are VFC folding stocks compatible with the new marui AK74? If they are that should fit with minor modification.
