  1. Good luck using it stockless if you're planning on running an ultimak. Mine was pretty front heavy until I got the ACS on there.
  2. Implying that V2 gearboxes aren't trash and m4s are worth owning. Some of us just like having the best of both worlds I'll be getting some more AKs next summer when I can afford something nice like a RS or LCT, and that one will stay stock and beautiful Also, what number is that? I know its one of the newest ones, but I thought they all used the VFC style pinned construction. This one has screws like the maruis?
  3. I'm not saying that this is the first time I've seen them, just the first time that they haven't looked like *suitcase* Aso, Saiga is damn sexy. I've been wanting to build a burst "shotgun" out of an AK and make it look like the Saiga 2000 from bad company 2 for a while now.
  4. my CYMA body didn't need any modification to fit the UltimAK, although it was a pain because no instructions were provided and I couldn't find anything on the internet. Protip, all of the parts that come in the package are needed. I bent my receiver slightly because I didn't use the two small wedge pieces that fit between the receiver and the back of the rail, etc..
  5. WGC was the only place I've been able to find the LCT ultimAKs. Someone was selling a CYMA 104 in the classifieds, and I stupidly told my friend about it instead of buying it myself! Don't need the receiver, but it would sure be nice to have an extra gearbox to mess around with as well. Might have to look into hacking up an LCT 104 front end to fit the CYMA receiver eventually.
  6. Anyone know where to pick up a CYMA AK104/105 front end separately? And by that I mean is anyone selling one? Need something lighter for field use, but still need the option to run larger accessories for the occasional CQB game, and I don't want to bother with assembling/disassembling the ultimAK ever again.
  7. Literally the first time I've seen an AK with railed handguards that I like I bet that front end is nice and light, unlike the small car I have hanging off the front of mine! Might have to look at getting an extra outer barrel and setting something like that up for when I need a lighter gun.
  8. I know normal 74 mags won't, so I would assume that the BP ones won't as they're the same size at the top.
  9. Hmm, I think I'll just set this down right here... More in the AK thread, although it stopped being an AK a long time ago
  10. Thanks guys! My father and I made the adapter on the bridgeport and CNC lathe at work. I might draw up a plan to get a single piece unit made (although the two piece unit I have is perfectly fine) by CNC or casting. best part is I could go right to my boss and get a quote if I end up doing that, although it would be expensive for such a small run. The only problem with my adapter is that the hole for the hinge pin was drilled in the wrong spot, so I'm going to end up just friction fitting a smaller pin after I attach the adapter with quicksteel or something similar. It won't be a
  11. Very nice Drake! Can't comment on the accuracy, but she sure is pretty
  12. Bottom one is pimp. Very nice!
  13. Ahh, my mistake then! thanks for the correction. Just tried unscrewing the flash hider, and its definitely glued though. I'll break out the heat gun when I get around to replacing it.
  14. Indeed. That looks really good on the g36, unlike most m4 stocks!
  15. They both unscrew the same way, so as soon as you start turning the flash hider the adapter unscrews as well. I think the flash hider is glued onto the adapter in the ones that I have.
  16. they screw the adapter on, tighten the allen screw on said adapter, and put the flash hider on over that perhaps? Odd that you could get yours off without taking the allen screw out. I couldn't get the flash hider off either of my CYMAs because of that screw.
  17. Thanks guys! Ultimak was very easy to fit once I figured out how to do it. No modifications were required on the gun or rail system, which was nice. Its easier if you take the barrel off of the gun and assemble it there before sliding it into the receiver, but its possible either way. Plague, the UBR was on the top of my list for stocks, but due to the way it attaches on an AEG, I don't think I would have been able to easily mount it. The ACS is much easier and allows me to use other m4 stocks if I need to at some point in the future. I can snag and Ares m4 for $150 new, so I
  18. There are 14mm- threads, but they're below both the flash hider and an adapter. Problem is that the adapter is held by a grub screw, and the flash hider blocks that screw. you pretty much need to drill a hole in the flash hider to get to it, which is kind of a pain. If you just try to take both of them off, the grub screw will tear up the threads on the barrel.
  19. All of the CYMA AKs are out of stock everywhere as far as I've seen. best bet is a dboys or VFC at this point. as long as you have a flash hider (14mm -) that has the QD threads for the AAC suppressor on it, you'll be fine. Most of the AAC cans come with the flash hider you need.
  20. Sure thing CYMA CM.040B LCT ultimAK PTS? XT rail covers PTS AFG PTS MS2 clone RSA Beta Project AK "Pmag" Stippled grip Pretty simple build so far tbh. The hardest part will be the stock. Do you still have that 74u with the rommy foregrip btw? That was one sexy AK Thanks Reaper. I was hesitant to start this build since I've always been somewhat of an AK purist. It took the mag-k for me to realize that blasphemy can be very attractive provided you use exactly the right parts The stock will be switched to an ACS, but
  21. Small update- RSA and MS2 arrived along with the beta project mag. Stippled the grip on Friday and had a wonderful time actually being able to hold the gun in the rain on saturday Should be making the stock adapter this week now that I have the correct buffer tube.
  22. Anyone have pics of a PDW with emags?
  23. Its for my AK, actually. The only good way to make the stock adapter involves using a threaded stock tube, but my 5ku won't fit the PTS ACS I have. Thread size is irrelevant btw as the adapter hasn't been made yet.
