My Army 1911 is at least 20% more gas efficient than my old TM/Hurricane Mike Cripps built Kimber. LOL.

Bear in mind I do an awful lot of plinking at home too! Still, I'd say if you do go for an Army 1911, don't replace anything until you have to - You might be pleasantly surprised. I've got slight play in the trigger which needs tightening up, but I really can't fault it otherwise; And even with the side to side wiggle, the trigger break is still very very crisp and not a difficult pull.. I really am loving the thing, although KJ's 1911 put me off a fair tad after the huge lemony lemon I got...

Well that was just bad luck. But it does seem like the National Match would be a good one to choose. And i know you do plinking, though as i have found plinking on a nice day is fine, it is when you fling it around and shake it up that stuff goes wrong.

Well, in my case it's the hop-up that's been bad, but it was a quick fix.
