Am I the only one aware of the fact Snowden and Assange were given information that could catapult them to fame and fortune and don't actually give two *fruitcage*s about privacy and rights?

I find it a bit eerie that the first place he ran to was China. If he wanted to help the American people, why did he do something that easily set US-Chinese relations back two or more years?
