  1. First person to ask nicely here gets a totally free of charge set of TM Foliage Warrior ACU grips including weights!

  2. Is the ridiculously overpriced Nineball REALLY the only option for a 1911 threaded barrel?

    1. aznriptide859

      aznriptide859

PDI makes an adapter, but it basically just grub screws into the inner barrel.

    2. hwagan

      hwagan

Inner barrel or outer? Considering a TM plastic barrel and the TK self cutting thread adaptor... Any ideas if that'll work?

True, but WA ABS is pretty good for looking like metal! And yeah, but how much is a Prime kit on a WA? =D

  5. I just.. I installed a Madbull MFR on my G&P M4. In 2 minutes. Without issue.. I just don't know what to say.

    1. hwagan

      hwagan

Which madbull rail? I'm seriously thinking it's either a slightly worn G&P thread or the barrel nut as opposed to G&P changing the thread size, as my WOC was manufactured about 2 years ago and I've had a couple of TM spec rails I haven't been able to fit onto it.

    2. hwagan

      hwagan

Also, now that G&P seem to be using Madbull for licensed rails, maybe they've said 'Hey look, our nuts go onto any gun, so why don't you guys make them to our spec so they'll go on basically everything rather than just TM spec?'

    3. beta08

      beta08

That could be... actually now that I think about it, it was a Socom Gear rail. The Mk18 one. Either way I was expecting some dremmeling of the threads but I was pleasantly surprised.

  6. Found a TM 5.1 barrel, and thought 'Why not'... Combined it with the AIP Bucking in the Army National Match... Goodbye, TM, it seems we're parting ways.

    1. hwagan

      hwagan

I've owned in the region of 20 TM pistols, some stock, some with various upgrades, including 5-6 1911's and a couple of Hicapa's, over several years, a couple with metal slides or whole metal kits. This thing IS, not might be, IS, factually better than my HurricanE kitted, professionally installed £458 Kimber TEII. It's more gas efficient, the slide is snappier, the action is smoother, and the parts are a better fit. The trigger even has a cleaner break and it came out the box...

    2. kenxin

      kenxin

The hurricane TEII kit is factually better than the army metal body, in both construction and fit. I'm unsure where you got your kit installed, but by no means should it be worse than the army standard metal bodies. The gas efficiency does not come from the metal body (unless you're referring by weight, the lighter the better and in that respect both are heavy alloy aluminum). And the cleanness of the trigger shouldn't be affected at all by the MBK.

    3. hwagan

      hwagan

I didn't say the kit; I was referring to the gun as a whole. For the record, the TEII kit was on a TM MEU, fitted by Mike Cripps of ESS. What I'm saying is, the Army gun is a better performing and shooting piece than my particular TEII was. However, the Army gun, including the quality of the slide and frame, is entirely on a par with HurricanE's effort.

  7. My Army 1911 is at least 20% more gas efficient than my old TM/Hurricane Mike Cripps built Kimber. LOL.

My idea of plinking is transition drills, setting up IPSC style coke can courses, drawing from concealment... Essentially I spend an hour or two every few evenings boss'ing my way around the house, heh. Definitely helps in games 'n all. Still, it's going to be skirmished and skirmished hard, so once I've had it a bit longer I'll get some impressions up with regards to any failures or wear etc.

Mike, what was bad about your hop, just the rubber?

    3. FireKnife

      FireKnife

Nice. Too bad i still haven't found a local posh farmer to hire land off of for that yet :P Still good to hear how well it does after a three month period, maybe like my tank of a 1911A1 that just refuses to die, it has funny moments but it is old, well used and pretty much gets abused too much. :P

    4. Mike_West

      Mike_West

No, the hop-up arm was bent too much and caused the BBs to curve significantly right ("significantly" as in at least a foot at 10ft distance). After bending it back to 90 degrees, it's working correctly ever since.

Now I'm thinking about expanding my collection, as I'm the unofficial armorer of a local photography hobby group ("Do I have to bring a duffle full of guns again?" - "Of course, what did you expect?!"). There are some things I'd like...

You weren't in a flat alone for long :P. Though at mine i have a nice target trap, so it collects all the stray ones and thus no mess, not bad for £5.

    1. FireKnife

      FireKnife

Really, i found them still a bit hit and miss in the shooting, the PX4 that is. But still the ARMY should hold you in good stead.

    2. WhiteHawksan

      WhiteHawksan

you'll have to let me know how good they are, one of their models is most of the parts I'm looking for for a custom build pre-installed.

    3. hwagan

      hwagan

I'll chuck up a 'What bits to change' post when it shows up, if necessary. Still, the PX4 I had was a nice shooter, but could have done with a bit more hop; Still, point is, for an £8 rubber and gas efficiency the same as the plastic slided one, I'd take a HK3 PX4 over the TM every single time now.

I thought about the Bomber MRP as Redwolf have a 10% promo right now, but that and 6 Prowin Mags would cost $1,300 so I ordered a KSC Magpul M4 instead for half the price, comes with NPAS already installed too!

    2. hwagan

      hwagan

That's kind of the problem... I love my M4 the way it is now, but the MRP has always been my personal favourite blaster. Loved my AEG one to bits, just wish I could afford the WOC :( How is the KSC anyway?

    3. bladerunner168

      bladerunner168

Hasn't been delivered as yet but I had the 1st KSC M4 and was well impressed with build quality and gas efficiency. Should be even better now with improved hop.

I'm guessing a $2K Ino would feature a steel BCG? I should really have mentioned 'GBB's are fine - If you prepare for winter first'. It does take a bit of common sense to keep them running.

Also, Reppy - How is your WE AK with the steel in it now? It's a toss-up between a WE AK or a GHK PDW next, although I'm leaning towards the PDW due to the mags...
