On the topic of weapon/gear loadout its going to be entirely depedant on the unit/department. Some departments might have a large enough budget that they can customize a weapon to an operators preferences. Small departments might buy only a few MP5s of M4s and leave it at that. Maybe you have a CO that lets you use your own stuff or maybe you have one thats a jerk and says that you have to live by his rules. What I'm aiming at here is that we know basically what weapons tactical teams use, but we dont need to split hairs over optics and the like.

Does the 14 inch still have the short inner barrel or is that only the DX version?

Guy I would edit out the spring amounts/ FPS levels in the above posts, discussion above 328 fps is frowned upon and having this thread locked would suck. For those that have the gun, do you see any possiblity in mounting the Li-poly in the fore-end, perhaps if you had 3 cells stacked lengthwise?

Dude, are you looking at the same gun that I am? The US trademarks are "off" because they have to be, it cant be real trademarks and still get into the country. "Poor Replica"? Its exactly how the real gun is down to the gas tube (normally hidden, which shows you how much they care), hell even the bolt stop works. No other AEG besides a PTW can say that. Internals bad? Its got a metal gearbox, metal gears, aluminum cylinderhead (never seen a stock AEG with that before). Despite the fact that I have no job and no money Im not sure I would be able to bring myself to buy a STAR over a CA. The gearbox scares me, the lack of metal I dislike and it seems to me like buying a Star is accepting defeat. There is a certain pride in wielding a $1000 gun and the STAR just doesnt cut it.
