That is correct, i have no need for no stinkin batteries. It's not that I don't like the UBR, it's just that I switch uppers a lot and its easier to exchange stocks with the ACS.

Apart from the M16 with the URB i'm building them all too. I will do the M16 with an ACS instead of the UBR though.

Oh dear, I'm definitely not skirmishing anywhere that's got more sand than that site. Poor MEU.. no GBB should make a sound that crunchy when you cock it... :s

That just proves that when things are well design, pot metal is sufficient.
Both my KJW and Marui P226 have more rounds in them than most my rifles combined and yet function flawlessly.

That remembers me dragging my KJW P226 through the beach when i forgot that i had it on my leg rig. And of course proceeded to play with it after just a field strio. Still functions to this day ... damn strong potmetal.

Last sunday i had my first game with the new M14 and everyone there had the same first reaction "ZOMG what did you do to the M14 ?!!?1!?1" but then they tried and changed that to "hmmm ... that actually really works".
Funny thing is, most of them still preferred to have the M14 "look right" even if the VFG actually made the gun better.

I'm with CKinnerley on this, looks and "how the gun should be" comes second on my priority list.
Hey i just "raped" a M14 ( by purists definition ) by adding an under rail and a VFG. But you know what ? That "mod" made the gun MUCH more manoeuvrable to me and in the end that's what counts.

200+ foot kills with a basically stock WE M14!

300 ft is around 90m which is pushing it a bit, unless you have some unhealthy fps, but some usable 80m with real precision at 70m is perfectly doable with the M14.
People in todays game always gave me a "WTF face" when i shot the M14.
Theres only two real faults with it, the mags and the original stock.
