  1. Personally i'd like to use a CO2 external gas tank, but the TM shotshells are very good. Its a magazine that LOOKS like a shell, best of both worlds and the best comprimise of realism vs airsofability (IMO)
  2. my design of having a double stack magazine folded down the shell tube would require removing it to fill it. Not all so realistic until you remember that there where real shotguns that used a similar design, just not very popular as the accepted normal system is better. (still can't see why we dont have detachable magazines... every other gun in the world has...) You would end up with a pipe that you fill like any other midcap, insert into the front of the shelltube and then use the catch to secure it(the catch won't require any modification). Ignoring the xrail thingy, as thats
  3. Yes I KNOW that! I ment I wanted to see one that looks and functions exactly like that one, rather than a similar thing hidden inside the shelltube. Plus you have to manually twist the m500s tubes where on the real one they move automatically when the tube is empty(i assume its clockwork)
  4. I want to make something similar to this for an airsoft M500: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdUYHYTSpGY Allthough in truth what i would genuinely make is a U shaped midcap magazine to replace the three single stack tubes. I think that there is enough room for two lines of double stacked BBs (one there and one back) with a U-turn at the far end. I am just wondering if the U-turn is going to be too tight... Of corse i would be making an extended version rather than a shortened version. and i wont bother even trying anything untill i stop it leeking!
  5. I'll get some pictars soon. I allways use VN STANAGS cus they look better though i do have ICS 450 round highcaps... 150 shots before reloading.... STill, i never use it, i prefer using shells and the shells hold more than enough ammo for me. But saying that, i only use my shotguns in CQB...
  6. So still not liking my much improved design? Where i am able to freely use any TM compatible STANAG magazine, without perminant modification to either gun or shell( well, one shell was sacrificed for the project) This is an early picture: http://www.btinternet.com/~joppa/ED-SKaR/shotgun/08firstfit.JPG I still need to get round to making it look pretty...
  7. The gun definatly will not take raw CO2, as that runs in at 850 PSI. If you have an airsoft external rig with a preassure regulator then that would be fine, but i don't know at what preassure the gun would start to fail.
  8. You missed my point, but you're right. However many soldiers are to be issued with scope/redot units, trijicon supplied a small fraction of that number, the SUSAT still needs replacing(I'll take one from you MOD:D) so the rest have to come from somewhere else. UOR is as the name sujests a "panic buy" of a few hundred units to fill the gap until a proper procurment is ironed out.
  9. there are 150000 soldiers who need scopes, trijicon didn't supply that many
  10. Cheaper probably, the trijicon was a UOR after all.
  11. My ICS L86* came with a RIS rail that looks identical to that one, i ment the scope/reddot unit. *Its broken and getting returned.
  12. ITS GOT RIS, haha, no longer using 19mm rails. Bout time. Though i can tell you there is no airsoft copy of that thing... yet...
  13. If its the maruzen shell ejecting gas m870, you remove the gas tank, fill it with green gas, replace the tank. IE, the m870 is fine for green gas, only the M1100 has trouble because its GBB.
  14. I had a wacky idea for an extended midcap magazine. Matching the lenght with a longer barrel would give you probably 50% + more ammo, but if you where to redesign the shell tube from the ground up and have a midcap running that lenght curving and running back (there is just enough room for that) then you would be adding another 33% as well (four lines in stead of three. giving you allmost double the capacity AND removing the need to twist the tube. i never got round to making it, i just dont have the skills or tools to do that.
  15. Because that requires bolting amirite parts onto a shotgun, and thats an insult up there with putting cheese into the mag tube and trying to fire it.
  16. Just so i am not spaming this picture thread with questions; From the left in each photo: MMC classic L85a1, fitted with what I think are STAR iron sights (either that or RS.) Internally stock, and i am not sure if i can bring myself to upgrade a gun that should be in an airsoft museum! . Academy L85a1. Fitted with a custom cut RIS, china'soft ACOG TA01 and a real steel saty maglite. Lots of internal upgrades, running perfectly at 310FPS for at least 100k rounds. Need to sort the hop unit out (TM MP5 type hop) cus it has no range currently. ICS L86a2, standard OO
  17. Ahh well, thanks anyway.
  18. Darkchild, would it be possible for you to get a few pictures of the Acog scope mount for me? Just a thought .
  19. You're not the only one to do that mod, someone else did it the exact same way, but as i specified i want the ability to go back to green gas. Now if it was m5, i'd be sorted. My gas parts are mainly m5 and some chinasoft gas valves are m5 (bell 1911 fill valve for example) so i can run some of my stuff with my external rig.... or i will when i get a longer m5 piece to fit them .
  20. Just out of interest, does anybody know what thread those valves use? I want to conect an external gas feed to my shotgun, but i also want to retain the ability to go back to green.
  21. I have noticed this, its quite a stupid design feture TBH, the gas forces the valve open! I put in a spring spacer to help keep the valve closed but it hasen't helped.
  22. Ahh, my L86A2 came with a rail adapter in the box, one i will have to use for the acog, i still prefer the acog to elcans .
  23. Its from the display for the upgrades, the guy on the left has the old school armour and so on (the simple vest) the guy on the right has osprey and the guy at the front has the new thingymawotsit. see another picture here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1057767/Revealed-British-soldiers-return-wearing-Tommy-helmet-Army-unveils-new-equipment-infantrymen.html
  24. Another random question off track; What size is the O ring in the firing valve. My shottie keeps leaking out of the barrel and i can't get it to stop, replaceing the o-ring might just do the trick me thinks. If it helps i have a parts diagram that shows it as part 80, but i dont know what brand the diagram is from .
  25. Firstly no, thats not what i want, secondly the ICS comes with one of those in the box! Darkchild, i asked everyone publicly . I know the Acog is UOR but i prefer it to the look of the ACOG+ doctor, plus the fact that if i went with an elcan i would still have the same blody problem in that the model the Britarmy are procuring does not have an airsoft replica!!! Back to square one.
