  1. I like the current limit, as it does protect us as it's supposed to. However, it must be said that the crew behind ArniesAwesomeSoft support that. If we were to remove the restriction and do sales a different way, I'm sure the Arnies crew would continue to support the new version and it would still be great.

Maybe I'm naive... OK so I'm naive, but I'd be open to the change, and hope it would bring some numbers back to this website.

  2. If I want to throw RS grips on it would I need to dremel out a notch for the weights in the grip

Why not just do away with the grip weights?

when I fitted wood grips I just threw them on and threw away the origonal plastic grips and grip weights.

  3. I actually find the feel of this one quite balanced, just not sure that extra weight, being were it is, is going to do much for the cycling.

    'FireKnife'

No worse than a metal slide, in fact a lot lighter I imagine.

  4. OF THE classic airsoft guns I've had, they all range from terribly impractical to woefully unskirmishable. I pretty much only want to own guns that I can skirmish with, but I don't like selling on guns that don't function :(.

That said, I've never owned a BV gun, probably the best of the external gas guns.

The academy SA80 puts out 150FPS with no hop or LRB and my hudson double barrel leaks gas from the shells so badly it can barely shoot, plus I only have two shells and that makes it so impractical.

The maruzen pistol uzi on the other hand are pretty good, rudimentry fixed hop that flings 250fps 0.2g BBs at a resonable distance, although I will keep it as a CQB gun as even my bell 1911 shot further.

    {edit- made me sound less insulting to our ancestors gats.}

  5. May just quickly post my Satie family:

    familyphoto.jpg

MGC L85A1 (fitted with iron sights)

Academy L85A1 (fitted with acog and RS maglight)

ICS L86A2 (bit modern for this thread, so just ignore that one mkay)

The MMC functions well on full auto, but the trigger mech really doesn't like semi for some reason. More so, I can't get the right pressure for the gun to function, my palmers unit only goes down to 50PSI and at that pressure it fills really slowly so the gun only fires 2-3 rounds then has to wait for a few seconds for more gas to flow.

    I think I need a double regulator system :(

Academy SA80 was great for its day, creaky and plastic, but the gearbox is a TM v1 copy so it's perfectly reliable.

I did have a second Academy satie, but the externals are such cheap plastic that the only piece that remains is a perfectly functional gearbox >.<

  6. I machined it out of a PVC block. The one that comes with the TM HC AUG is pretty close, but I have no idea how you would source one.

    Awww....

    ...

    ...Make me one.

Seriously nice work though, I really want it :P

  7. WANTWANTWANTWANT

The rattle in the shell tube: The springer tri shots, both the SPAS and the full lenght M3 had space in the front of the shell tube to store spare shells. I've no idea why TM did it that way, as it takes forever to get them out to do a reload, and there is no point having a seperate space on the gun to store one shell BUT, could this rattle come from the same thing(My M3 long shell tube has a spring to push the shell out into your hand so it doesn't get stuck)

As for the gas, I wonder if there is anything in the gun that would suffer when using green gas!??! Given that it's essentially a NBB system, it can't smash the slide, the most common failing of older plastic airsoft GBBs.

However, for myself, I think I'd like to convert it to external gas, so 80PSI of duster gas isn't such a hardship. But can the stock be removed? If so what is the gas feed like? Could a hose be attached to lead of to the external rig, or if not would I just have to build a valve to go into the socket where the current gas tank goes?

    Food for thought.

I REALLY like the RIS, Its the biggest problem I've had with the springer tri-shots, lack of RDS!

Very nice review, thanks for sharing :D

    {edit aditional}

So I've had a read of some peoples links.

Looks like there is an overpressure valve in the gun somewhere, can one of you with the gun test the pressure that it activates. (in Kratisto's link)

Also in that link, it looks like gas cooldown is TERRIBLE! Will deffinatly go over to external gas.

  8. So I figured this would be a good place to ask. I'm in the market for a 1911 meu.

My question is kjw or marui?

Never owned a marui gbb but loved my old kjw glock

TM or not TM that is the question!

    The answer is TM.

    Always TM!

More reliable, better built, good quality construction. Millions of upgrade parts if you really need to change them.

Mine has been 95% stock since I got it and has been through 30k rounds on green gas with only one fault. I upgraded the plastic slide and frame with the plastic slide and frame from someone elses TM 1911 when they went mental and put a metal slide and frame on theirs!
