  1. A few notes from reading some of the posts in this thread. JG's FET is a copy of Terry's (ExtremeFire) old FET designs IIRC, and albeit not being made of the best hardware available the FETs were okay according to Terry on ASM. MOSFETs aren't that expensive when buying bulk. ASM people charge like 15 bucks for a IR3034 FET, and those are the top of the line stuff at retail cost. Doubt a manufacturer would need to pay 15 bucks per FET if they wanted to add it into their AEGs, and I doubt many of you will object to paying 15 bucks more for your typical AEG if it does come with a nice FET. I
  2. Doesn't 'just up and disappear any day' basically equate to screwing you over? Come on, if they're still operating their site without the intention of fulfilling any of their incoming orders, then that's just fraud on their part. I have no sympathy for a retailer like that, no matter how stellar their services are prior. Also: http://baton.gunsmithbaton.com/e405734.html Seems like Zeta Labs / Airsoft Panda really did go under. There's also stuff on the Red Alliance thread on the VAL/VSS from my quick mobile searches.
  3. Well I'm not in the society anymore as it's a 1 year thing, but so far there hasn't been issues yet and I know they've been taken out to a couple of games already
  4. Read the other posts here in this thread. I don't have issues with mine but apparently it doesn't affect the function of the gun.
  5. Ah thanks for the response! I got it working by getting the TD grip to take up the slack, so it's set up the way I wanted it to be along with being very secure. Not my preferred choice by using the TD grip to secure the rail, but whatever, it works and it's not loose and I'm not worried about it Thanks for the info on the S&S products too I like to research both the real steel and airsoft counterparts before I do my builds and the S&S stuff that you know is very interesting whenever you post
  6. I take it you've never seen my other contributions on Arnies I had a PM that was around 3.5k words Anyway, yes to someone that's never fired a rifle before (extensively) their shots will be all over the place because they don't tense up to brace the recoil. But I don't think that's a fair comparison because even IF you force them into a thumb-break / thumb over bore method the matter is their muscles aren't bracing for the recoil and the shots will be all over the place regardless (albeit probably slightly better with the thumb methods). Enough with the wall of text; lemme post som
  7. Okay, I'll repost a pic from the H&K thread because it's relevant to the lowpromount discussion above, and I didn't want to leave the discussion hanging. Something's wrong with my Galaxy S2 camera...I dunno if it's a software issue; but if I aim it at anything bright (or reflecting bright light) the camera gets those pink lines...perhaps if anyone's got a solution to fix that please lemme know Anyway, the lowpromount is the FMA one and the gun is a Classic Army HK416 (the pro-line version; which is still a piece of *suitcase*). The mount alone on the rail is loose, even when the
  8. Nope, because WGC pulled it from their store. I think it's because Magpul PTS has license or something. I'm not entirely sure. The FMA one was out of stock everywhere except at Toy Soldier; which is where I got mine last week. Yeah the latches are adjustable, but the farthest point I've gotten without having the latches dig into the mount was 80mm. The CA rail holes are 82mm apart; so I was planning to file the latch so that it mates with the ends of the hole where the latches ride on, as that would give me an extra 2-3mm (as the latches don't go all the way at the moment). I didn't
  9. For the grip (yay for OT, but I'll make this quick) that Travis, etc. are teaching; it's meant to control recoil along with allowing rapid transitions from target to target without you 'over-swaying' your rifle when you try to transition as fast as possible when your life is on the line (or when your score is on the line for competitions). For airsoft; there is hardly ANY recoil, even if you ran say a TM MP7 or any other hard kicking GBBRs that would give significance for the thumb-break (or brake? I don't remember) method or thumb-over-bore method for recoil management. Sure, if you use tho
  10. Mind I ask what replica and what S&S mount brand? I recently got the FMA S&S mount and it doesn't exactly fit on my CA 416 rails. It SEEMS like it fits the DBOYS one when I tried to compare the holes on the rails to the S&S mount.
  11. Yeah but that's irrelevant to what you said before and what I was replying to. You were saying how using semi or bursts is the 'right way' of playing airsoft / using a GBB. All I'm saying is the right way is how YOU want to use your airsoft guns. If you like to full auto dump an AEG or GBB, then that's your prerogative as long as you don't end up annoying anyone else on the field if there is an agreement to how the skirmish on that day should be played. If you want to play airsoft like Rambo; and the people that play with you don't mind or have the same mindset, then everyone's hap
  12. Guys its airsoft, not shooting real steel and be a super secret SEAL squirrel operator. If you like to full auto dump all your mags in a game that doesn't make it wrong in any way. This stupid "full auto iz wrongz" talk is ridiculous.
  13. I have a feeling wigs is talking about the VFC one when I read his post a few times. The VFC HK replica of the grip and stock will not be available as a separate parts from what I was told by WGC staff a few months ago. I'm not entirely sure whether VFC will sell you the HK stuff if you contact them directly. Anyway, I took all the fancy pants stuff off my M4 build and I'm left with this: As Fiddlesticks said, it's 'vanilla' Yes I don't have a rear sight and I don't intend to use one. Why? I was inspired by both the Act of Valor (yes I know they did stuff to deliberately mes
  14. Right now show us all how you can import a 'firearm' without paperwork into the US from overseas.
  15. They don't have a website for their store. heroarms.com is the manufacturer, you're correct. Hell, I don't think hero arms make anything any more. Their website seems defunct and the local store only uses the Hero Arms name on their storefront, they don't sell anything that's manufactured by Hero Arms, so even if you can find a contact on that website I don't think it'll do you any good. Regardless just ask Shooter again to restock it? If AA did change their production to CNC milled brakes rather than cast like mine, I doubt they'll continue with the cast ones anyway so any new stock s
  16. Missed my window to edit^ Anyway, here are pics. RATECH trigger set with RATECH hammer: RATECH trigger set with stock WE hammer (without roller): There's at least 1mm height difference even though I took the roller away from the WE hammer. The TSC hammer: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/t-s-c-hardened-cast-steel-hammer-for-we-m4-scar-gbb.html Have exactly the same dimensions as the stock WE trigger, and works fine even when paired up with the RATECH trigger and sear disconnector.
  17. Did you install the RATECH trigger set? Turok_T on ASC found that the RATECH hammers seat too high when they're cocked. I've noticed the same thing too with my set and comparing it with the stock hammer the RATECH sits 1mm too high. Might not sound like a lot but it prevented me from emptying 30 rounds out of my gen2 mags with my GunsModify steel bolt. I swapped just the hammer out with a TSC hammer which, when compared to the stock WE hammer, seem to be of the same dimension. My SCAR works fine now as a result. If you've bought the whole RATECH trigger set your best bet to fix the
  18. Nope sorry. Shooter doesn't seem to stock them since I got mine ages ago. However, IBMedic told me he got a new version of the brake at Hero Arms (they still have a website IIRC but it's way out of date) and rather than cast like my old brake above, they mill the newer ones. So my review only applies to the old batch it seems. Personally I haven't seen the new brake that AA make.
  19. But I'm sure it'll feel much better than the current SCAR stock config despite it's looks. Regardless, it's the only CASV that an ACM company will do. I'll probably get the CASV for my SCAR as the MITER Blackout FH on my SCAR right now won't fit the PWS SRX and I don't need so many rails on my SCAR anyway Gave my EOTECH XPS to my friend for his game this Saturday as his replica Aimpoint's been screwed....guys, remember to never get DYTAC optics
  20. Huh; I'm hoping it'll fit the WE SCAR. As much as the M4 stock looks fugly on the SCAR and the boot stock does make it look more...gun-like and not something you hammered to the receiver in a backyard; the M4 stock capability is pretty good for the WE SCAR because the stock extension lock on the WE SCARs are finicky and they sometimes fail if there's too much recoil. I had the SCAR's stock bite me on my cheek when it suddenly collapsed on me during a full auto burst.. The loss of the folding stock capability is not too big a deal for me personally for airsofting (I'll never shoot the
  21. Darklite's TM MP7's been holding out and I can bet you he's running it exclusively on green gas. He's probably dry fired enough times than most people have taken it out to games too...you'd think the green gas fumes would've gotten to him
  22. Yeah now that you say it....probably because most of the gun is made up of straight edges XD Actually you CAN get a grip angle like that VFC managed it with their new HK416 and IMO the grip angle on the HK grip is the same as the BCM one. The VFC 416 uses a standard v2 gearbox as well so as long as we can figure out the mounting solution for the 416 we should be able to do the same for a BCM grip. Someone I know emailed Crusader Tech before about the BCM grip for AEGs and they hinted that they might do it....that said however I tried emailing them as well and they didn't reply me
  23. Thanks I was gonna add a 3x magnifer as well, but I looked through one in the shops yesterday...alll had extremely bad eye relief, so I'm sticking with just the EOTECH alone. The Fire Pig got annoying after a while...I still prefer things to be a bit more military looking and the Noveske wasn't cutting it, so I'm replacing it with an AAC M4S-2000 silencer soon...probaby gonna go with black as the tan one doesn't exist from the manufacturer AFAIK? Got a Tan PEQ16 on the gun as well. Probably gonna zero the laser for 5-10 meters and have the EOTECH zeroed further. I'm gonna try an
  24. Yeah the finish is kinda glossy, but like you said, for the price (and those that can't get them overseas....those mounts are ITAR right? IBMedic told me what items would be classified as ITAR before as he's crazy and he actually read through the whole ITAR thing, but I don't rem meber any more) it can't be beat.....until I saw these http://www.ebairsoft.com/mil620-light-mount-tb570-p-6538.html http://www.ebairsoft.com/dropwing-ring-light-mount-tb572-p-6536.html http://www.ebairsoft.com/dropwing-ring-light-mount-tb571-p-6535.html http://www.ebairsoft.com/thorntail-light-mount-tb569-p-
