  1. After drifting about last night looking at Bizon videos and what is still up on shops late last night, I had a stupid idea I had to do today. There was a video of a fellow putting zenitco parts on a S&T branded Bizon type 2, and as I watched I thought "I have an ak74mn dboys gathering dust, and a cyma branded bizon in the closet, let's do something silly." Had to use the pin from the original bizon stock in order to get it to sit properly for receiver cover to stay on properly. Locks in but will unlatch itself with enough force, and naturally folding it is useless. Still, ga
  2. So far the best thing I've seen in 2018.
  3. Was wondering if anyone knew why Mach Sakai is doing review videos of guns he's already done before in the past lately, like for example the S&T Type 64. I saw it pop up in my feed today and figured maybe it was getting an update or something.

Because more views more cash. Also he may have upgraded video equipment + review style/content to warrant a rehash.

Figured so. Just didn't help with bringing back my Battle Rifle urges.

  4. So, did the pkp kits for A&K pkm fly under the radar or did I miss out more news than I thought? I figured LCT had beaten them to the punch.

      €300 too beaucoup

  5. Beautiful, makes my LCT seem like a paper model.
  6. So, whilst watching some silly airsoft vids from Japan, I noticed that the bolt action rifles being shown were being loaded from what seemed like a trap door reservoir, with possibly a high cap wheel. It looked like a type 99 based on what appeared to be a dustcover. Makes me wonder if it was a custom build or something?

I believe they do have a type 99, including a dustcover. I've never seen one though :(

Yeah, it is a KTW then. Just saw a shop image gallery and it matches. Kinda makes me wonder why other companies haven't tried that feeding design, must be something weak about it.

I've owned a PPS M40 which uses a similar feeding system. That system was the reason I sold it. It was very prone to jamming and loading it took way too long. Magazines work much better, which is probably why most companies use them.

  7. I must immediately ask the following: do you have the shorts?
  8. Excellent as always. Frankly I am surprised someone hasn't handed you a XR-5 yet.
  9. Is it time to start building our stiff upper lip kits?

sigh, I figured as such. Knowing our luck, the first dpm any company makes will be the same.

  10. Got a mate asking me about JG G36k model as a starter. Someone offering it at 100 dollars, changed the hop up, and seems okay, but I am trying to find the old reviews and whatnot and am having difficulties trying to offer advice to him.

JG G36s are solid guns. Pretty common hire gun over here. Very reliable.

that's what I gathered. I just had several hours of discussion with him about general terms and whatnot and in the end said for him to think about his options.

hopup units are usually *suitcase*, but get a new rubber - else the internals are pretty solid, in my experience.

  11. A question to our folks in Japan: Been going through some older videos from a youtube channel and have repeatedly seen the use of what seems to be a manual clicker whenever players go back to their respawn. I assume this is to help refs keep track of how many respawns have happened or something to that effect? I could see it used locally so that game hosts could tell when one side is completely out of the fight.

  12. So, I've figured that the problem with one of the gearbox that was in my main kalash (a stock one I haven't taken apart) is that it has been locking up with the anti reversal latch. My 9.6v nimhs still have quite some charge left on them, but every time I try to test said gearbox after releasing the jam, it locks back up. Going to charge one of nimhs up to full to see if it really just need more juice, but I fear something else is going on.

Yep, charged battery did the trick after the unlock. Now to figure if I want to rebuild the other gearbox...

  13. Clearly you are trendsetting for this year's most popular camo pattern now.
  14. Bit of a longshot but might as well ask: Does anyone with smersh rpk pouches have the means to see if a bizon magazine would fit in them? I know the various m32 model vests and the splav m23 could fit them, but wondered if the smersh rpk pouches might work.

  15. It makes for quick head mat when you want to lay back.
  16. I'm convinced that if you gave him a FAL to rhodie paint you'd convince a former Rhodesian it was authentic.
  17. Now you just need Gurlukovich kit for maximum trolling. TBH, I always kinda liked the short mags sold with those models. Always thought about picking some up.
  18. Thanks Tink, I'm an emotional bag of spaghetti right now. Never *fruitcage* with the Irish, and *fruitcage* the UN.

  19. I am not going to be present at the Shot Show this year (almost was), but was wondering if we should start up a thread in general discussion for folks who do go to post? Also, a challenge for anyone going to find a Swiss SG 751 rifle. I doubt it would be shown since they don't plan to produce them for the US market. Basically the big brother of the 550 series.

They're called flippers with the cards. Definitely not advertising anything as mild as strip clubs xD

Yup. Every time I've been to Vegas, the pavements pretty much have a layer of discarded prostitute cards.

  20. I have to admit, if I was to depart from my Russian replica focus, I would more than likely shoot for either one of these or the Scar H.
  21. LCT RPK. Still needs a proper rpk rear sight and a sling fitted, along with other things. Magazine is a Cyma/acm midcap that surprisingly fits well.
  22. http://www.evike.com/products/68297/ "Built around the traditionally durable version 2 gearbox, the XR-5s relation to the M4 ends there." "The fire controls are similar to the favored M4 rifle." At least try to use something other than a m4 next time please.

What's so bad about magazine and internal parts compatibility with by far the most common platform out there? It looks basically nothing like an AR on the outside.

Got a bit of Oblivion vibe going on.

  23. Ever want to get something that is clearly made poorly, would be way overpriced, and does not fit with any of your kit at all? I have that problem every single day...
