  1. Does anyone who owns a cyma/s&t pattern bizon and has a hicap for it know who to open the front lid to fill it instead of the latch?  I've heard about it being a better method but have yet to figure out how to do it to the hicap that just arrived today (midcaps never worked out for me despite having multiple and I kinda wanna try the hicap after seeing some recent Japanese players use one).

  2. Is Cyma the only company to make 7.62x39 akm polymer mags in black?  I kinda want to get that ak104 look at times, but it pains me that the cyma ones look a bit off and only a few shops (evike really afaik) carry them.

  3. When that urge for a g3 SBS aka MC51 SD surges back from years ago, but you remember it a v2 and not a v3.  Sigh...

  4. Just finished watching Mach Sakai's latest vid on a maruzen m93r nbb pistol and was amused that it lacked the burst mode.  Made me wonder if there has even been a nbb that had a burst or full auto function, or is it just not possible with such a system?

Not possible. It's a double action NBB with your finger doing all the work of loading and firing. The only way for something like that to fire a burst is if it loads and fires multiple bbs in one cycle of the trigger like a malfunctioning TM gas revolver.

  5. Sigh, is it wrong to wish a manufacturer will come out with a RPK-16 model with quality internals (good mosfet, qsc shell, motor, gears, bucking and barrel at least) and somehow package both long and short barrel setups that be swapped easily?  Never going to happen at the rate the industry is at though.

  6. So, I recently lost a bunch of ak mag plate bottoms on some new cyma magazines (dumbass me didn't glue/tape them) and I am wondering if anyone has ever tried real deal 74 magazine plate bottoms on them before?  I figure the dimensions are probably too different.  Also have some missing off some MAG brand plums.  Surprised that there is not 3d printed solution out there afaik.

  7. Just had an odd thought:  Instead of buying multiple GATE NanoASR for most or my v3 gearbox replicas, I could just procure the double signal wire and wiring for the motor connection parts and just disconnect the mosfet whenever I want to swap out, couldn't I?

Yes that's what I had planned for my NanoASR, I bought a spare signal wire so I could wire up multiple AEGs and then just shuffle it around them, never got around to doing it but it's certainly possible.

Got a spare one and multiple signal wires sets on the way to do just that now.

Can't say I haven't thought of it though if I did I'd probably try it with a VZ61 drum just to keep things to scale.

  10. Quick question to those of you with ye old cyma bizons, what length air nozzle do you end up using with one?  I have a shs long one atm for it, but I figure maybe the shorter one might be better, as for some reason it was not feeding well/compression was off at my last local game.  I'm awaiting new gears before I finish trying to rebuild it.

Also odd tip for those of you who buy shs nylon piston heads and find the orings not doing well for compression tests: since #14 ones from the hardware store seem to not alter much due to how deep the channel is, I just tried wrapping a bit of teflon tape around the channel a bit and put the original oring on and seems to be duing the trick.  Probably actually making it worse due to being too much but I'll probably end up taking it apart again in the future.

  11. Anyone know what his happening with the Red Alliance forums?  Haven't been able to get on there for some time, seems the site is down.

I was on it about 2 weeks ago so fingers crossed its not down for too long.

I saw an update from one of the mods that they were addressing it, but at the moment it just pops up a box asking for username/password with "suspended/restricted" in the tab window.  I naturally decline to try my info.

      Rejoice, the forums are back!

  12. That feeling when you keep throwing money at reddit sales for random Russian gear just to fill the emptiness for a brief moment.

  13. Someone finally made an an94 replica complete with pulley...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbZM2XvUdfk

      Jesus Christ that nozzle!

  14. Heard LCT has a rpk drum mag in the works, anyone betting it will fail like all the others?  If I ever got my rpk to actually work good I'd be tempted nonetheless.

  15. On a whim I decided to look at a silly LCT aks74u variant that has a polmer folding stock, and saw it on firesupport.  Apparently not only is it cheaper/same price as the Asia shops, but somehow it ends up costing only a pound to ship to the USA?  (somehow VAT free line takes off 48 pounds off the 49 it showed).  Mind boggling when some of the Asia shops were charging 100 dollars or more.  Wish I had an excuse to test this out, I rather we got the downgraded fps versions here as well.

  16. Airsoft Day?  Airsoft Day...  AIRSOFT DAY!!!

  17. Got this from a reddit post discussion, but anyone with better ears to the ground can comment on this?  Supposedly G&G making a type 64 replica:

Doesn't look like the one by S&T at any rate

  18. Anyone with a LCT RPK/74 got any imput on barrel length?  I hear about the barrel being too long and folks going for shorter ones or getting "bore up" kits, yet others that say its fine just get another hop up.

I had @DarkLite put a 640mm in mine the other day - will let you know what performance is like when I skirmish with it!

      Gunmane

Are you running a suppressor replica on it or something?  The longest I heard for mine was 610mm stock barrel...

    3. Gunmane

      Gunmane

any updates?  I managed to get my model's stock barrel out and it is indeed 610mm.

  19. I'd like to hear folk's thoughts on the G&G CM16 LMG being shown off lately.  I agree with most detractors about the cost, the fact that the internals are not really built for the role it is supposed to represent, etc. but for some reason I just like the look of it (and folks will know I am anything but an armalite fan at all) due to the shape of the upper.  I kinda want to see what G&G would do to make an ak variant of the same concept, whether they would take one of their rk74 rifles and slap a drum mag on it or would they bother designing a rpk length receiver, maybe make a pseudo rpk-16.

    1. Skarclaw

      Skarclaw

Nothing against it really, not to my taste but I'm not sure that there's anything inherently unsuitable about the v3 gearbox for LMG usuage. But as these type of light weight LMG's become more common - rpk16 is a good example - milsim organisers will have to think a bit different about how they class and balance them. I'd suggest 12kg - weight of gun = weight you have to carry on your person AT ALL TIMES haha. Easy!

I hardly ever see LMGs on the field and I'd like to see more, especially if it means regular ARs/SMGs being limited to semi-auto. I'd happily take a couple of these pretty-clearly-just-a-dressed-up-AR-15 things if that's what it takes to stop literally everyone else wasting 100rds at a time from their regular AEG.

  20. Apparently I missed this month's local game because it was only posted on private page on fb.  Kinda a punch in the gut feeling now.

Well that sucks big time ! That picky over who’s money is good enough then ? 😡

No, I just did not have a way to access said page at the time.  Rectified that for this month, though I don't like having a fb account.

  21. Ordered a G&G Green bucking alongside ammo from airsoftatlanta, figured I'd give them some business again.  They somehow managed to send only the bucking and not the nub or retaining ring with it.  Installed it anyways since sending it back just not worth it but that just soured my day and my plans to do more business with them in the future.

  22. Watching a game movie of Metro Exodus, and I am thinking why in the world hasn't an airshit company at least tried to make the cutout mags on a commercial scale.  Seen some attempts like this one:

but I'd like a 10 pack of midcaps and an excuse to bring the old 74m out of storage.

  23. Anyone got an idea what sort of magazine floor/base plates would work for the old MAG ak74 midcaps?  Realize that I have a few without baseplates whiles I was trudging through the collection today.

    1. Gunmane

      Gunmane

Furthermore, does anyone know of places in the US that might have the cyma or lct midcaps in plum?  It seems that except for the lct ones being sold with particular models they are only found in a select few overseas shops and the cymas I have not seen anywhere in stock.

  24. HobbyKing having a 20 percent off coupon for Super Bowl apparently, just picked up some extra lipos for my collection.  GAMEON is the code I believe, Big Banner on their website.

  25. Shot in the dark but maybe someone can answer this:  Is it possible for the Flare/Smoke grenade pouches on the SSO/SPOSN Lazutchik (not the M model) to hold a Bizon magazine?  I've heard about sposn's rpk pouches being able to hold .5liter bottles and whatnot and folks have used them before for bizon mags, and since those smoke pouches supposedly hold a .5 liter bottle...
