  1. Redhawk you are quickly turning into my nemesis. If you ever decide to sell that Wilson Combtat Professional, let me know.
  2. Woah, nice didn't know that. S&W love aside, what is this: Right above it near the bottom - appears to be a Colt Navy type revolver possibly? Is this a Tanaka?
  3. I seem to recall snowman stating that the silver M500 was in the works, but it hasn't been spotted at any online retailer or news site yet, unfortunately.
  4. Speaking of S&W Model 29s in Midnight Blue... Thank you Redhawk for selling this to me, I owe you one. My revolver quest is now complete.
  5. Beautiful pictures july_pi nice guns as well. Does that Colt Combat Commander have a metal kit on it? Anyway, here is my newest addition: Western Arms Colt MkIV Series 70 Premium with an SD Metal Slide.
  6. US Customs must have you on some kind of crazy list or something. Good luck with that - out of curiosity, are there any special notes you give to UNCo to have this happen, and what shipping company do you use?
  7. Here are some group photos that don't fit in any of the other threads really:
  8. I like the scope quite a bit - I think Redhawk mentioned he got it for around $50. The eye relief is a tiny bit shallow which would be very bad if it were a real gun, but since its not you can just hold it a little closer and all things work out. I'd very much recommend attaching a scope to a Redhawk.
  9. Posted already by Redhawk but I can't help myself, I just like it so much. Tanaka Ruger Super Redhawk .44 Magnum w/ NCStar 4x 32mm Pistol Scope
  10. Whee the revolvers came in today, both of these models have been posted before but I imagine theres no such thing as "enough" pictures. Tanaka S&W PC629 Marushin Taurus Raging Bull 6.5in
  11. I was actually comparing the Colt M1911A1 SCW1 and the Colt MkIV Series 70 SCW1 which I should hope share a good degree of similarity in that regard, but I wasn't aware of any of those differences anyway - definitely something to check with the experts on if I plan on swapping things around in that case.
  12. Its been awhile since I last laid hands on my old M1911A1, especially when it was still ABS but I'd wager they feel just about identical. Same trigger and WA makes almost all their guns out of the same HW ABS so you'll get an identical feel out of them both. Both have the same front strap and MSH too so yeah, just cosmetic differences between them.
  13. Right now Western Arms is the only maker of a GBB Colt M1911A1 I believe, and boy is it a good one. You're in luck too since they just released that model with a new SCW2 firing pin system, so its up-to-date mechanically as well. Here is my old one:
  14. The KJW/WA Para is a Magna copy of the old PO I believe, which means you'd simply need to find an old magna slide with the same sights so it would fit the blowback chamber. Magna slides are becoming a bit scarce though. As for after market hammers and triggers, they can be quite expensive for what they are, so you might be better doing the work yourself.
  15. I don't have a chrono so I can't give you accurate figures on either gun FPS wise unfortunately. If you take a trip down ASR way you can see a review written by "seth" which may be more helpful, for the S&W 500 at least.
  16. Fine I just posted these in the other thread because this one didn't exist but now you're going to get it. Redhawk, if you EVER sell that S&W M29 in Midnight Blue please let me know because I will buy it in a heartbeat. Having sold my Ruger Redhawk .454 Cassul I must weep, since it is the only gun I have ever regretted selling.
  17. UNCo sent it to me by mistake but I just couldn't send it back once I'd held it in the hand. Its very reminiscent of my old M1911A1, especially the wonderful trigger. Thanks for the kind words.
  18. Unfortunately no, Tanaka revolvers are all made mostly from ABS. That said, their is a portion of the frame in the second picture that is metal, and the monstrously huge cylinder is also metal, which gives the gun quite a bit of heft, though not as much as you'd expect.
  19. Didn't see a picture thread for revolvers (thank god) so I'll post these here. New Tanaka S&W M500 The other gun is a Tanaka Colt Detective Special, there for comparison.
  20. Just so I'm not clogging up the thread with my inane questions, here is a picture of the WA Colt MkIV Series 70 SCW1 as it is: Here is it and my SW1911, with metal slide recently installed:
  21. I'd really like a commander ring hammer since I think they're the bees knees, but these two Commanders look like they have slightly modified grip safeties as opposed to standard. Premium: http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?i...t_WA%20Handguns Looks like the grip safety has something of a notch in it to allow the larger hammer. Regular: http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper.php?i...t_WA%20Handguns And this one appears to have an exceedingly short grip safety which would also not get in the way. The top grip safety might not require the tangs to be modified to work, but
  22. Thanks for the tips! I'm thinking of keeping the stock trigger since I really like its incredibly short pull, though I honestly have no idea what the triggers are that you mentioned I do however like the curved MSH, and I've already got a flat one on my SW1911 so I think I'll keep that too. My plan was to keep the grip safety as it is so none of this crazy tang modifying techniques should be required. However, I'm not a big fan of the stock hammer, but I'm not sure what kind of options I have if I'm not going to change out the grip safety. I was thinking of getting an ambidextrous f
  23. I could use the help of the many WA aficionados currently gracing this thread. I recently received a WA Colt MkIV Series 70 from UNCo mistakenly. I'd ordered the Premium and they sent me the black - to avoid some hassle and because more 1911s are always welcome I decided to keep it. I'll be ordering the Premium a little later on with a discount they've offered since I already have a metal slide for it. After that decision was made I realized I'd feel a tad dumb having two guns which were basically idenitcal save for the color sitting around. So I come to you looking for answers. What can
  24. This is my P7, currently for sale at $225.
  25. Wonderful review Marcus, I'm an all WA person myself and I had a feeling most of the people citing their opinions on the gun weren't. Good to see a review by someone of a similar mindset to myself - I'll definitely be buying this but not until the metal slide comes out. In response to a comment made earlier in the thread, I'm pretty sure WA single stack 1911s make up most of their weight in the gun itself, as opposed to the magazine, though of course the latter does up the gram count considerably. At least, I've never noticed the gun feeling "light" without a mag, which I have with a lot
