  1. Thanks for the info TInkerton. And glad to hear the MUT gets a rave review from someone else. I was a little hesitant to drop the money on it as they are quite expensive, but rather glad I did now. I'm finding I use it almost every day in one way or another, and with a possible career in the military ahead I see it as a bit of an investment which actually raises another question. Would I be allowed to take it with me into the Army? Talking NZ Army here so not sure if anyone will know. Figured I'd throw it out there and see what responses I get. (a little off topic but I figure I'll t
  2. So I know this isn't strictly a knife as such, I couldn't think of anywhere else it would really fit in. If I am in completely the wrong place, feel free to slap me round the back of the head and shove me off to the correct location. Also, I apologise for the shytey photos, taken from my phone as I don't have a normal camera. Anyway, just picked up a Leatherman MUT. Thoroughly impressed with it. I'm no knife connoisseur, but this thing, to me, is just beautiful. Well made, incredibly useful and very well thought out. Also comes with a MOLLE pouch for it which I thought was a brilliant
  3. To answer your question scorch, yes, yes they do. See that black block just above and forward of the mag? That's the block that holds the upper and lower together. Push it through partially and the two receivers slide apart Makes maintenance, especially on the barrel and hop, a piece of ###### As for the length, I can't tell you off the top of my head as I'm at uni at the moment and not at home so I can't grab it out and measure for you. However, it is longer than the P90 because the upper does seat right back up to the ejection port which is where your hop adjust is. If you had a CQB ba
  4. Yeah fair point. I'm not entirely sure why I always thought of them the other way round. Oh well. And by bush I don't mean light scrub or anything. We get some pretty mean foliage down here, and there have been a couple of times I've pushed through foliage I would have thought would fold a flip up sight. Might just be me being a little nuts
  5. I always thought the way you've mounted it is in fact the correct way to do it. Means that if you're pushing through an obstacle, like bushes or maybe a hole in the wall, your front sight wont get pushed down. I mean, I can see why seating it the other way would stop you maybe snapping it off against a harder surface, but it would just frustrate me having to constantly snap the front sight back up if it ever got knocked down.
  6. Pic was taken about 2 weeks after I got it done. There's 11 things it represents, listed below 1) It's offcially the most accurate rifle in the world. Hence, its the best at what it does. Thats what it represents, being the best you can. I try to be the best at what I enjoy. No point competing if you aren't trying to be the best. 2) It's set a standard. It's a standard that can never be lowered, similar to Special Forces requirements. It's setting yourself a goal to acheive, one thats difficult but attainable, and one that you will only be satisfied when you achieve or surpass it. 3) B
  7. Cheers. Most definitely. That gun has come a long way. This is very much an "in-house" gun. As in it's only allowed to be sold to within a certain group of us, just because it's such a treasured weapon. We don't want some douchebag buying it, then changing stuff and breaking it or lowering its performance. I think I'll be holding onto it for a long while though, even if it's not going to get much use while I'm busy with uni/away on Basic. Just goes to show what you can pull off with some time and a little moolah haha
  8. Well I'm certainly not the only person to shoot an airsoft gun that far. A few minutes browsing on youtube turns up 300+ foot shots from multiple weapons platforms. As both Bane and myself have said, this gun has had a LOT of work put into it. I doubt the shot could be easily done, but it was a confirmed kill nonetheless. I know both the firer and the guy who got hit, who can verify their positions on the field at the time of the shot. I'm fairly sure it was part of a small burst rather than a single shot, but a kill's a kill. Same discussion happened in the AEG Sniper's thread, or maybe t

Just 1.5. Does the job for me. Means I can still acquire targets easily at relatively short range, where I do most of my hunting, but I can also adequately identify targets at a decent range.
  10. It worked like a dream. Lying in one ambush position, I eliminated a 3 man patrol with 3 shots while remaining completely undetected. Ranges varied from 5-15m
  11. And here is my CA AUG A1 in its latest rendition. To be honest I don't know exactly what parts are in this gun, as its about 6 years old and has 3 owners in total. All I know is that it has the PDC(?) hop unit in it, Guarder gearbox internals and a PDI tightbore. Tightbore runs to just inside the standard flashhider, which was removed in order to mount the silencer, which works like a charm apparently. ~15m shot, target didn't hear it. Running at 380 on 0.28s. Longest confirmed kill at 360 feet. It's the rifle being used in this pic taken at the NZ Nationals recently.

  14. Looks like the ICS QD Silencer because personally I haven't seen many in that design, but I could be wrong
