  1. Sometimes threading matters on objects that rotate (like the nuts that hold your tire on for instance) if they are installed a certain way they can come loose and cause serious problems. So for stuff that rotates the negative/positive threading matters. As for why it's a certain way on airsoft guns and real guns? Probably tradition more than anything Why do we have right hand twists in 90% of real guns when left hand twists produce the same results? Tradition! What this does mean for us is a G&P M16 flashhider (for the G&P M16) should fit since they are all CW instead of CCW
  2. Hopefully! I just got 2 offers for my ICS M4 from my local forums and I had just made an off hand comment about it!
  3. We have been told numerous times that it should accept real steal grips. As to the spring, I dont know what that'd be fore in the inside! You can probably find the spring (use an AEG motor, specially if you have a Turbo3k/Guarder IFTU/G&P M160/Systema Magnum). If you put the grip back on does it still work normally? EDIT: Quoting pics = fail
  4. x2 Sad day my friend. Lupus give us Moar! Moar I beg of thee Moar!
  5. Lets hope thats true, for all of our sakes! I would definetly enjoy having a CO2 mag that runs on 12g CO2 cartridges and is adjustable. hopefully they will be easy to adjust if thats the case!! It would take the FPS from stupid rediculous to sane really quick
  6. Good point, it's starting to grow on me (the whole thing not just the grey) but the real AR15 I shot certainly didnt have any grey in it. (It was an Oly Arms PCR97) anywhere. Then again it was kind of an oddball rifle anyways (Full length AR15 with collapsible stock ). I'd definetly like to see what the 30shot spread is with both barrel lengths. Even if I had to use the short inner barrel with the M4 outer I'd probably do it because I dont know if I'd ever fully like the stubby look with the detachable carryhandle. Thought about making a 733 out of it but I'd rather have the full len
  7. I await the full reviews, mainly because that FPS issue is going to be a big one. So far, it looks like my ICS is going Buh Bye! Lupus you are crazy lucky man! Is it just me or are in everyone of the pictures a bit of "ICS Grey" popping up in random places like the dust cover and the ring at the front site that holds the foregrip/ris on? Flash supressor too on the end is a little grey. Is it really that grey or is it darker like the ICS grey is? (ICS Grey has a tendancy to be very light in pictures but it's dark in person). If it's indeed that light in color then there will need to
  8. Nice to be back, thanks Arnie it's much appreciated! You truely never realize how much you come to one place for info on airsoft untill it's down and then you are kinda like "Well frak me, what am I going to do now?" At least it's not like the WoW servers... Truely, anything is better then those. The servers built in the later part of the 80's would probably be better then those I can deal with Arnies being down for a week because I'm too busy complaining to Blizzard to fix the WoW servers
  9. And in typical grainy 1990's esq photo's: (Ignore the M16A4 please ) And yes I have the CFP-90 to go with it: Such a cheap loadout too! Kitlist will be made if requested. Kinda reposted from the USMC thread.
  10. I bought a Pentel White Marker at a hobby store and did it with that. cost 5$ but it was worth it.
  11. She's become my pride and joy since my previous pride and joy betrayed me (G&P M16A4 MWS). Lets hope this one lives up to it's title I like the Arsenal Numbers too. I may have gone a bit over board as literally everything that is removeable except the vert grip (because it's not mine officially) has the number on it. So thats both rail covers, the PEQ, the ACOG, the sliding stock, all my mags have them on the top part (that cant be seen, did that on purpose). I even added the numbers on the top of the buffer tube so I knew what position I was in on my stock UPK
  12. Updated Pic... added armory numbers (which actually corespond to my call sign (Whiskey11, thats one one ) and a vert grip. Painted the flash hider instead of sharpying it. Not that impressive really, just another M4...
  13. My new Baby... 07 ICS M4 RIS. How does it shoot? I wish I knew but the mail man hasent delivered my battery yet! Stock internals except an Echo1 Bearing Spring Guide and a Guarder SP120. Also waiting on a vert grip so I can ditch the 203...
  14. Or you could purchase the Bipod that goes with the M14E2 and make a "Modern" M14E2!!! Talk about a better idea then doing what everyone else does! Not to mention, who can complain about 470 round Hicaps and laser accuracy in a SAW? I bet that idea will flop... Ohh well
  15. I think it depends heavily on what brand of stock you buy. I know from SA the synthetic stocks do not have the disks but thats because the metal reinforcement is directly put into the synthetic when the stock is made. I've seen internal metal frames in some competition stocks though similiar to the wood stock ones just as an extra buffer against stock damage. I'll see if I cant find a picture of one. Dont expect an imediate response though. I'm out during the weeks =\
  16. I'd have to go with G&G, personally. I'm an absolute believer in proper feel for all of my guns. I could not stand my TM M14's stock or the metal parts. It didnt even feel remotely close to the real thing. The CA/G&G's certainly felt much better. They perform about the same at the end of the day it just depends on what he wants to spend money on. For the money, I'd spend the little extra and get a G&G M14 Veteran (375$ from www.Kastwayairsoft.com) because it comes shooting awesome out of the box and it's got a wood stock on it already. Here is something I posted as a
  17. Another Picture, this time in an M21 ish set up. Needs the proper scope but for now the cheapo leapers will have to do The stock really isnt that shiney in person camera's and light sources have a tendancy to do weird things to gun stocks. Some of my ultra flat painted guns have the weirdest shine.
  18. At the end of Vietnam M14's were coming from the factory pre modified Semi Only, fyi The rest is entirely true, in the Real world the SOCOM II and SOCOM16's are slighly more inaccurate at extreme distances but when it comes down to it the SOCOM length makes up for it since it can be used easier in most environments. I personally don thave a problem with the M14 length but thats just me. In airsoft, no difference what so ever performance wise. The CA M14 National Match and CA M14 SCOUT can use the same 509mm inner barrel and not have to worry about it poking out of the flash hider. In
  19. Mmmmm love: With son and daugter: G&G M14 Veteran, Completely STOCK Chronos 380 +/- 2 fps with Airsoft Elite .25's. Great gun, not unique right now but I thought I'd share. Too cheap to afford a decent scope for it (I'm giving up on using the Leapers on it, it needs something more correct). Comment away, although I doubt it'll attract much attention
  20. luvs2shoot I have to call you on a technicality. The M21 (and XM21) were full length M14's with accurized barrels, fiberglass bedded stocks and a ART Scope (Vietnam) or any slew of modern reticles (Redfields are common). Yours is a SOC16 with a silencer, I dont think it quite qualifies as a M21 It looks nice though, you do a very good job with your photos. I personally went the short length route with a silencer on my SCOUT before I sold it and it was beyond deadly to be on the receiving end of I'm guessing you are building a sniper rifle version of the M249 But with a Para stock
  21. This depends entirely, and I mean entirely what era you want your M21 from. From Vietnam you will need at a bare minimum National Match Barrel (Full length barrel) ART Scope (good luck finding one for under $1k ART Scope Mount (again good luck finding it) Bipod Pin & bipod. Search for XM21 on google to get more info on the bipod For a more modern M21 you will need National Match Barrel (Full Length Barrel) SpringField Armory Scope Mount Bipod Pin Harris Bipod M3 or M1 Scope (depends on the person, I've seen both) Usually Cheak rest like the Blackhawk cheak riser
  22. My CA m14 is already sold to a team mate. And yes, it did arrive, and it did not last long in it's box unopened Will get pictures up later, but it's nothing that special ATM
  23. Not at all. Like I said, I poured some silicon oil into the magazine. Rotated them to get all the oil through the grooves in the bb track. Let them sit for an hour. Then filled them with 1 bb loader about 6 times each and they all work fantastically. Feed very reliably havent had a single misfire except in one of them that I accidentaly loaded to the full capacity (I only want them to work for 90-100 rounds because thats all I will ever use in them). If I wanted to get them to feed all 130 I'd just repeat the same with them fully loaded instead. After I did the speedloader bit I just le
  24. Strange, all 4 of my G&P midcaps feed perfectly fine. All I did was lubricate them with some silicon oil, tipped and moved them around a bit untill the oil got all through out, then loaded and unloaded them about 6 times, no feed issues so far so long as I dont fully load them (I only put 1 speed loader in them anyways) Good guide though, If I ever have any issues with mine I'll be sure to take this into consideration
  25. Sand paper, chissel? What appears to be the issue? is something blocking it or what? Yes there is a screw you can tighten down on the M14's flash hider that prevents it from moving as much. It is a small allen screw just on the back side of the front sight it screws down into the castle nut (the nut that holds the flash hider on). The M14 Bull pup = fail, I'm an M14 purist but that is no M14! Good news, G&G M14 Veteran gets here tomorrow, hopefully, provided UPS doesnt decide to take the day off lol Scheduled to be delievered tomorrow at least. Thats great news for me,
