  1. Could you post a good close-up of the washer, and let us know if it's plastic, or rubber. (I"m assuming plastic from your description of it being razor-thin.)
  2. That wasn't an answer to his question (which is also my question). Anyone know if you need the medium length, or if the small will do? (They have 3 sizes).
  3. Ack.... just realized that I'm missing the C22 lock ring-washers on the barrel assembly. Seeing as how I have an big game coming up that I want to use the rifle for, I'm begging AirsoftGI to send me a replacement barrel assembly, instead of taking weeks to go through the RMA/Warranty process with Magpul-PTS. Who else has had this issue resolved already? 1) Anyone think that instead of this being faulty, that it's something they decided to leave off, and didn't have a chance to change the manual? 2) Anyone that HAS the washers, can you post a good close-up pic? I'm thinki
  4. ######!!! That means I have to buy it now. UHG, the money I'm pouring into this gun.
  5. Is the foldable one adjustable? If it is, I didn't realize... and am suddenly much more interested. As for the cheek rest, it's definitely made well. (All externals of this gun are awesome) I just thought I'd rather see an alternate feature instead of a cheek rest that tilts up just a bit. For the production cost, I'd rather have them include a something like one of the quick release sling loops. But I'm being picky.
  6. Someone give me a brief background on Ares. I thought that they were one of the higher end companies?
  7. Finally received mine. While I didn't get to put it through it's paces yet, this is my finding: 1) Surprisingly light. I knew it would be, but damn.... feather weight. 2) All the externals feel ROCK SOLID. I was worried about the 'hollow' plastic front handguard. but SOLID. BTW - mine has zero wobble or gap (so far). 3) Barrel: I need to check the pics again, but mine appears not to have any washers either. But looking closer, I can't even see where they would go. My barrel locks in nice and tight, with little effort on the handle. 4) Front site: I am slightly disappointed that i
  8. Question - can someone confirm that I have all parts from this list. I seem to be missing the black birdcage flash-hider. - gun/rifle - fake bullet (used for pushing the pins) - Manual, CD-ROM, and warranty card - Magazine with cover plate - Sites (front/back) - orange flash-hider (installed) I ordered from AirsoftGI/ I've heard of other people, ordering from other places have the gun include the black flash-hider. I have a sneaky suspicion that they took the black one when they opened it up for testing (asgi always test fires your rifle).
  9. Yeah, I guess I shouldn't panic. Just concerned as this is my first expensive gun (my others are a JG M4 and Echo1 ASR, both <$150). Especially since every complaint I've heard about so far pertains to bad QC during assembly (aside from Snoop's faulty trigger switch - which unfortunately is the only part you can't really replace right now). While I bought a bunch of new parts for this thing, I plan on running it stock for a while to see how it handles. (Not to mention, I'll have to do all my tech work on a portable table on my field, since I don't have my own chrono, and I want to be
  10. ######... I get mine tomorrow (Monday), and am super nervous about quality issues heard here. Anyone have any idea of the failure rates for this sucker? If I were to return this... what's a comparable SCAR in decent quality and same price?
  11. I'm ticked I couldn't have it today to screw around with this weekend. I've never wanted a weekend to go by quickly before.
  12. Wow - I didn't think a hop-up bucking would affect FPS that much. Spin yes, FPS... I'm surprised. I'm thinking I should bring a workbench and all my tools to my field one weekend (as I don't have a chrono). That way I can test out my gun with different combos of after-market stuff I bought and find the optimal config.
  13. LOL - AIRSOFTGI (US) finally got them in stock (a month earlier than expected, unless they were padding their dates) and shipped. I get mine Monday!
  14. I'm less worried about the quality of parts (as I'm replacing piston/head, spring, and eventually gears & motor anyhow), but more worried about quality control, for example, missing parts on barrel assemblies, and wiring getting in the way of mechanical items like the selector switch, etc... As long as the gears aren't "pot metal" I"m not worried about replacing them too fast. I would lie to know about the cylinder/head, so I can replace that as/when needed. QUESTION: Someone told me to get a torque motor. How will that affect speed (lowing it?). I want to get this to be a
  15. Wow... more and more it looks like when I receive mine that I'll want to completely disassemble the gun and reassemble with a parts manual to make sure mine is put together correctly. Not happy hearing of all these issues. Maybe I should have bought a VFC SCAR.
  16. CRIPES - $22 for a ring of metal to screw on. I'll make my own, thanks.
  17. Sounds like about 15% off. I used the coupon "hot" and got only 10%. Oh well. Now, if only they'll finally arrive and ship out!!! I ordered black, asked them for Foliage, and not rethinking my decision. On one hand the foliage would go better with my ACU uniform. But the black would mean I could share mags with my existing M4 and not mismatch.
  18. "Fair price" is a very controversial term. You could ponder on "fair" as based on what a proper markup on produced goods should be before you're fleecing your market. Most of airsoft pricing isn't fair, but magpull is a worst offender of inflating pricing of what is really a few bucks of plastic/screws, etc.... OR You could consider "fair" as based upon what the market will bear, meaning that Magpul is a little high, but not by much as we airsofters are suckers enough to pay what they ask, not what we think we should pay (and thus can't put the genie back in the bottle anymore). Unfor
  19. NONE. From what I hear, and SNoop's review... they don't need to be replaced. TO the rest of you.... I hate you all !!!!!!!!!!!!! AirsoftGI is still reporting that mine won't get in my hands until late October. I'm praying I have it before a special event at my field around the same time.
  20. From what I hear, and the other responses before me, the gun OOTB is pretty darn good. Even the low mid 300's FPS is perfect for my field. However, given that it's an expensive gun, and will be the upper end of my collection, I want to trick the sucker out to be all it can be.
  21. How's the gearbox itself? Seem reinforced? I bought an M120 and an M135 spring to test out. (Figuring I'd use the 120 most of the time, 135 for sh*ts and giggles). I'm planing on the following: Modify Polycarb Piston http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=2247 Bravo SIlent Polycarb Piston-head http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=6239 AirsoftGI PE 6.03 TBB (While a store brand, I hear this is a decent quality TBB). http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=5843 Unless, does anything thing there is a big difference between thi
  22. 1a) What "mod" on the Guarder bucking? 1b) You think I would be ok with a Systema bucking? 2) As for the TBB barrel, the Masada is supposed to be 375mm, right? If the closest I can find is a 363, would that be ok without any mod? (1/2 inch short of the outer barrel).
  23. Always use paypal or AMEX. You can fight unreceived items.
  24. This worries me. 2 units in such a short time missing pieces. Damn, I'm almost tempted to take mine completely apart and compare against the parts diagram.
