Your methot is nice (I may try it on else, for example on a GBB pistol slide, or western rifle), however letters of the L119 script are too fine for that, plus a professional CNC cut sticker will cost more than the engraving.

No, what I meant is do the electroetching with the laser engraving. The electroetching will only take away metal from the laser marking, while the rest is covered by the paint.

Engraving will be tricky, and will be after camo paint (laser engraving).

I finished with the markings: serial number and ID is my birth date and first airsoft game's date...

    Hey, man.

I don't know what kind of laser engraving you are going to get, but most only give you the type you already have with those phony USMC markings, barely taking the paint off and revealing the metal underneath.

If you want to get actually metal engraving, as in deep cuts, you can take your receiver to a metal engraver, the ones you hire to engrave sports trophies or hunting knives. The Diemaco logo will be extra though, as they will need to make a custom pattern.

However, if you get crisp laser surface engraving, you can then use the 9V etching method to get deep cuts into the metal. They are not as refined as the actual machined engravingsa on real gauns (or roller marks on Colts), but they look nice enough.

Swapped out the front end for a Airsoft Artesian Armalite tube setup.

This is the gun I have wanted for something going on 10+ years and I couldn't be happier.

Masked the screw holes with hot glue and painted with Model Master SAC Bomber Green.

I still cringe at the memory of my girlfriend's face of dissapointment when I showed her the plastic tube I had spent 130$ on, and continued to explain that recreating Kyle Lamb's Delta M4 was VERY important for me. 😅

    Thanks!

The Aimpoint was bought used on a marketplace i Norway. There's quite a lot of them here and the price isn't too bad (around 200-400 USD depending on condition). Perk from being next to Sweden I suppose :)

    Thanks, man!

This is my VFC MP5A2 GBBR with RS H&K Claw mount, RS Aimpoint 5000 and RS H&K magazine clamp. It's also sporting the "early model" SEF lower as well as slimline handguard and original Norwegian army issued sling :)

Sweet! Where'd you get the Aimpoint?

Since Ivan has noted the "old gun" trend going strong.. Does anyone have a source for slim M4/xm177 style handguards in Europe? I'm not really bothered if they are original or replica since its getting fielded. I have checked all of my usual stores and no luck.

    Not Europe, but...

Just when everyone thought I was done messing with PPS shells. Not really sure if this still counts as a shotgun since it doesn't technically shoot bbs. Instead the whole vog body is launched, though rather anemically. Will work better with APS CO2 shells no doubt, or maybe I'll install inner barrels in a few of them to shoot bbs just to mix things up.

I just discovered this store: they have incredible prices, some items are priced closer to wholesale than to retail.

The site, while not great, has its own product pictures, which is a good sign, since they took the time to do that, instead of cloning another website or using someone else's pictures.

However, they only mention local shipping or pickup, which leads me to believe they could indeed be wholesale for local stores.

I will send them an email. In the meantime, if anyone has any info on them, I'd like to hear it.

    Cheers!

  9. In anticipation of receiving my TMC Safariland 63DO replica, I decided to update this old copy of a Safariland USP+Flashlight holster with some Gunskin and a QLS. Can't quite get the colours right on my phone, but it is very nice in person. If you have real multicam, though, it will probably not match it.

  10. Has anyone tried this in AEG form? HK416 upper on M4 lower (the picture is a real gun, apparently Delta/CAG did this in the very beginning before adopting full HK's).

I have tried different combos and so far E&C upper and lower has the best fit, but unvariably the upper is a couple milimeters longer, so that the front holes for the receiver pins dont line up. So much so, that a good filing doesn't remedy the situation. I'd have to dremel either the lower or the upper to a point in which the tangs would be very thin on one side and I fear they could break.

Also, does anyone know of an airsoft replica of the LaRue Eotech riser? I am almost certain I saw one made by Element, but cand find it now. I have the shorter one.

Seeing as their are at most 10 post a day on Arnies, every one is welcome IMO.

Yeah, I absolutely agree. Why scold a guy for asking questions in an otherwise pretty dead thread?

Hard to say if they are any good, as it is unclear what brand Double Bell actually is: at first I thought it was the old Bell, which made pretty bad GBBP's 10 years ago. But now a series of Dboys AEG's have popped up under the brand Double Bell (same initials, BTW: DB).

So, sadly: no clue if they are any good.

Also, can you purchase from Thai shops, do they ship outside of Thailand?

    Question Time!

I recently purchased a Star (now Ares) M4 MRE. Beatiful gun, but with a problem: the stock tube is thicker than regular AEG stocks. Since I want to make a old-school CAG M4 and I cant find an old-school 4-position M4 stock made by Star/Ares.

Sooo... does anyone know a Star type stock tube (the ones that screw directly into the body like a RS AR15) that takes regular AEG stocks?

Problem solved: the Star stock tube actually has normal dimensions (AEG dimensions), it's just that the part where the round tube and the square thing along the bottom meet is rounded and not at a right angle, so Star profile stocks work on regular stock tube, but not viceversa.

PPS stock tube for the XM26 work flawlessly and are cheap: https://airsoft.tiger111hk.com/p40603/PPS-XM26-Pump-Action-Shotgun-Stock-tube-(Parts-No-86)/product_info.html

  13. Since holsters for the FNX-45 are hard and/or expensive to get, I decided to try a chinese made Safariland for Glock 17 and it worked pretty well.

You only need to cock the pistol to clear space for the hood safety (and remove the lip on the hood safety); and engage the safety lever on the gun, so it goes in more smoothly. I also dremelled out a little of the interior for the safety levers on both sides. You only need to take out very little and is visible from the outside.

All in all, 10 minutes of work.

I would not try this with a real Safariland holster, since those are much, much tighter and I think it is unlikely that the FNX is able to slide in. This chinese copies usually have so much room inside them, that you will want to line the interior to keep your airsoft gun from rattling around so much.

That is an MP5k. PDW never had SEF lower (I believe) and SP89 never had a paddle mag release.

Could even be an SP5K, that I've seen around. I don't know that much about guns. I just mentioned SP89 since that is the most common civilian MP5K-style pistol in the US.

Montana 94's Marrón Safari could be close.
    https://www.montanacolors.com/productos/mtn-94/

If you click on the information on the colour, you'll get the CMYK, Hex and Pantone codes for it, so you can compare.

Thanks for the tip, but I have that colour (I have most 94 colours that might be usable for camo) as it's not close.

This is some type of metallised tan, or dulled gold paint.

I'll keep looking for suitable candidates.

  16. I was wondering if someone could help me source a colour: the one on the upper of the MP5 (more pictures here).

I know that the paint on the lower and the magazine is RAL 8000, but the custom shop that made these MP5 (or SP89or whatever) names it as Duracoat Pewter SL, but from what I can see on Duracoat's catalogue, that paint is grey-silver, not tan-gold.

Either way, Duracoat is stupidly expensive to get into Spain, so I am trying to source a regular spray can in a similar colour.

So far, Rust-Oleum Universal Metallic Pure Gold seems to get the closest (see below, the pot on the left).

Any help in finding a closer colour (less shiny and more tan, I guess) would be greatly appreciated.

My Recoil Shock is a true Block I clone, so I have both of these accessories. Even in 2015 the G&G AN/PEQ-5 was basically impossible to get - KIC, where I got mine, have since sold out - and they were literally the only place I could find that had them. Back when I was looking used RS ones were horrifically expensive (>$700) for what they are, and they're still pretty expensive even now.

I only got my KAC sliding stock adapter in November of last year, from FireSupport, but it looks like they've since sold out too. KIC spoke to G&P directly on my behalf and established that the part was long discontinued. You can still get RS ones and it's not wildly expensive ($45ish) by KAC's admittedly extremely low standards.

    Thanks, mate.

I finally got the King Arms version of the sling attachment from ZeroOneAirsoft. 9 pounds, but 17 pounds of shipping to Spain...

In regards to the CVL: any chance you could take meassurements of it?

The basic shape is quite simple: a square with a cilinder on each side. Hopefullly a friend can design and 3D print t for me. And as to the small parts, such as the adjustment knobs, rail mount, battery cover, etc., I recon I can find them in my spare parts box, from old cheap PEQs. I could then use spare stickers from one of those PEQs or even print my own.

  18. Hey, guys!

Im working on a couple of "old school" M4s and have really set my mind to getting these two stupid accesories, that are out of stock everywhere. If anyone knows where to get either of them, Id really appreciate it, second hand is fine also.

  19. Are the Cyma with the real wood stock a good choice?

    Internally, yeah.

Externally, I might just have gotten a lemnon, but mine came with a broken grip, which I was able to repair, but I lost a nice chunk of wood.

In any case, the grip/motor area is very thin and prone to breaking. My G&G M14 Veteran has solved this by making the are thicker, at the cost of losing a bit of the RS look.

Also, the wood is cheap and ugly as hell, it's foing to take some skill to make it look like "serious" wood. God knows I tried.
