  1. I hope it holds up with the propane/green gas. I've had to resort to duster for my current one. A lot of the 870s I've owned eventually had a leak from the body or an expanded gas that after prolonged use. Breacher had a leak from the body that needed maintaining, not sure if it was entirely caused by propane use though, could be an overall maintenance issue. Hopefully this holds up. A TM gas shotgun on the higher pressured gas is just mean for CQB, it's so fun I love it.

  2. You need to remove the tube from the fill valve.

I may do that, but that seems to concern overall efficiency and increase # of shots for green gas (as seen with badabings video), not reliability. I wonder how the bolt is holding up for ppl with high round counts with propane during higher stress temps. I honestly havent heard any major failures...yet lol

  3. What are the current reports of running these things on propane/green gas, especially in hotter climates? I havent heard any reports (like how the mp7 issue arose wtih broken nozzles) with use on green gas. I tempted to run it in 85 F+ Florida weather to see how it fares and if any broken parts will ensue.

Similar to the question above, has there been any reliability issues consisent usage?

  4. I had two GHK m4s, one was a 14.5 inch bought a year ago and a RA TECH spec'ed 300 blackout. Both had the bolt failure down the line. I did rectify the issue with file as L2E mentioned (samoon has a lot of convenient resources for GHK issues on their website which is where I resolve most of the problems). In my experience, the performance was ok. I'm a guy who just likes a performer out of the box, and the GHK did reasonably well considering my prior with other GBBRs.

I'll have to agree to the trigger on the marui, I do not like it. The GHK had a nice trigger, as well as the bolt riding back into battery. Recoil is good on the marui but better with the GHK.

All that said, I would still take the marui if both were available to me at the same time with my experience thus far. The mechanics of working the rifle in-field is important to me along with consistency in performance. I can also trust that my bolt will lock back 100% of the time (knock on wood) unlike the uncertainty with the GHK that requires filing every now and then. There are pro and cons to the marui though, so I would suggest to purchase based on the priority of your preferences. There are cons, but i have not found any "mechanical issues" so far with my fielding. I have been using it with duster so I can't comment with the propane inefficiency.

  5. So I received the mws. I have to say, the auto on this thing is mental. The performance is extremely consistent and predictable. I had a few guilty spurts of using it to propane but i soon will switch it back to duster since it's still 86 F here in sunny Florida during christmas season.

some criticism: The trigger doesn't feel as good as the GHK. If you're looking for realism, the bolt doesn't slam home as satisfying as the GHK (due to the MWS system). Needless to say, it is very reliable and I look forward to having some trouble free skirmish rounds. I am having trouble finding extra mags for this thing. Will give second impressions after a few games. Everything else about the gun feels solid, I love the Cerokote finish.

  6. Yeah, 1 mag is good enough. GHK on CO2 lasts only 1.5 on the capsules at least, haven't tested with the Devil Hunter, but expect the same results.

My only fear for the TM is it won't comply well in the cold weather, so that's why I'd like to see some results in the cold weather before I make a purchase :).

I run 5+1, and a kydex with m&p and 3 +1 mags there, no dump pouch. It is heavy, but like you said, I am used to it.

    Here's hoping that it does!

  7. I hated filing down that bolt catch on my GHK...

Im glad the marui has that adjustable wheel for easy hop adjustment. That KWA tool on the lm4 is one of the worse designs I can think of, and utterly annoying. A little bit more force than usual breaks the teeth. I thought the gas efficiency on the lm4 was decent, but the performance was lacking consistency. Shimming the barrel, stopping random jams, gas spewing out of the receiver till empty, Bbs flying unpredictably. evo sets and other mods helped a bit but i have given up on that system, and thats after owning and coming back through at least 5 different kwa lm4s (including the mega arms MKM). Oh yeah, that bolt catch fails as well.

The GHK was perfect to me save for the bolt catch wear. However, running 6+1 mags (along with other gear) is such a B. But I've been running that set up for some time now and toughed it out. But if the marui is lighter in every respect, i'll take the lower gas efficiency which wouldn't apply much to me anyways as long as it finishes a mag strongly. Most likely when I run a mag till empty, it wont be refilled with BBs on the field. It would be sitting in my drop pouch.

  8. thanks for the vid.

So TM has better snap, worse efficiency, questionable accuracy bonus vs the GHK according to the video. That and bolt lock failure on the GHK....

I really like how "tossable" the marui m4 rifle seems. Also, with the lighter mags, I wouldn't be weighed down at the end of the day after a few good long games. I used to run 6 ghk mags on me....talk about work. It really gets to you when playing after a good while.

  9. Yes, in my case, it misfeeds and wont pump all the way to the end, stops short just like Geko describes and sometimes doesn't go forward at all. It happens on both 134a as well as Top gas and ACM as well as TM shells.

in my frustration, I will just muscle my way through the pump action and that is what breaks the nozzles. I know now to not do it ever again and instead, just pop the shell out and let the BBs fall out BUT when a player is charging your position and you're popping the shells out.... :fear2:  :fear2:  :fear2:

Like Geko said, I just wish it just worked. TM really dropped the ball on this shotgun.... and they're releasing the Breacher soon. :o

Now that you mention it, sometimes i do have trouble with the pump action. Sometimes it stops short and i just pull it harder to complete the remaining pump action. So far though, i dont see any changes. I do notice that sometimes i would hear a loud hiss (very apparent) and to stop it i would pump the shotgun and shot it to stop the hiss temporarily. However, leaving it there sometimes, it can re-initiate and for games, picking up a shotgun with no gas is not good for me ...

  10. Exactly. Im prepared for it all. Haha. Dont care about the fps of that marui m4 gbb on 134a, im sure a nice long tightbore will boost up the power some. Excited about the recoil. Tm isnt known for using steel on products but they somehpw managed to give that tm mp7 gbb a pretty good recoil.

    I second this.

Also, a marui mp7 gbb kicks harder with duster than a kwa mp7 with propane. I believe the TM m4 gbb on duster will run pretty reliable with an enjoyable recoil.

  11. I think I would prefer the KSC/KWA version.

lol try owning one for a certain period of time and come back to this quote. There are reports of people literally having brand new KWA hk45 that jam after a few mags...and if that doesn't happen it will be inevitable. The whole system to me is flawed, I'm glad i sold it for cheap. When you need a pistol to go bang, you can't trust the kwa hk45. I always had to second guess myself everytime it sat in my holster.  I've owned the KSC USP series and the new KWA mark 23 and they weren't THAT bad.

The marui hk45 is the only other option for this model. Let's see how she holds up!

  12. Krydel, that's interesting. Yeah, it doesnt seem to be sitting very well (2 out of 5). The remaining three, i tighten the screws on the bottom and the usually fixes the problem. I'll give it another day.

In the meantime,  how are the new GHK stanag metal magazines? I assume they work well in the g5? Might order a couple of those....
