  1. Seems like a lot of 'old timers' are coming back into airsoft.... maybe it's got something to do with Covid and the lockdown and realising how much good fun airsoft used to be....I know I'm all pumped up to start playing again.... bought a 417 and a 416 over the last few months and I'm eager to get out there.......
  2. Go faster chest rigs? Is that the same concept as go faster stripes on a 1.2 Corsa? Interesting point on the hop rubbers. I have a firefly in my Marui Recoil. I believe it was the best at the time circa 2012? So things have now moved on since then? Perhaps I should replace it?
  3. Mine on the box says Recoil Shock which is why I was curious what the Next Generation meant. I've looked online at some recent gearbox teardown of the NGRS and it looks identical to what I can remember on mine way back in 2012... Let's face it the V2 recoil gearbox is bullet proof and they can't really improve on something which was good, other than replace the monkey metal with a better alloy.... God I remember snapping a couple of Marui gearboxes in the early days lol...
  4. The Tokyo Marui Next Generation Recoil Shocks seems to be quite interesting. They seems to average £500-£600 for an AEG. I swear in the good olde days a recoil would set you back £350 tops.... I know coz I have 2 of them stock SCAR L and a heavily upgraded M4 SOCOM. (which I can't recall what I've done to it lol). I just ordered 2 new lips from the component shop and both guns are alive. By the way, how does one get rid of old LIPOS? If anyone knows the difference between the new Nect Gen Recoil Shocks and the older recoil shock model I'd be quite interested to hear. Ho
  5. OMG, this place still lives..... Even my password works... ! I joined in 2003! Can you believe that!!! I've still got most of my kit, a couple of TM Recoils, one Tac'd Systema, a couple of Western Arms pistols, 2 Glocks, a TM MP5, a custom AEG which I put together and blimey an electric drum mag and one of those Mosquito Moulds grenade launcher. Oh not to mention a real aim point and and L2 sight (what possessed me to buy RS sights lol)... and a sh@t load of BB's! Anyway, I'm gonna get back into Airsoft this years so I can lose my beer belly. Running around woodland is one way of bu
  6. Superb video Richard..... very much appreciated..... Thx
  7. A H nub? So you've replaced the standard marui nub and hop rubber too?
  8. Which upgrades have you put into yours? I'd be happy with a consistent 335fps The thing that concerns me is the recoil unit... The SOPMOD unit/gearbox I can take down with my eyes closed but i'm just dubious over taking the SCAR apart at the moment as I'm used to a V2 gearbox takedown... I thought I had a spare M90 lying around but it turned out to be the E6 M110.... I'm wondering what the M110 would give me? I may pop it in just for a laugh though to check the fps...... May even clip a few coils off it and stretch it to the same size as the original Marui spring and see if I can tune
  9. Ahhh yes, I forgot that the SCAR has a shorter gearbox, so yes an M90 would probably be the safer bet.... so if I only change the spring for an M90 and no other standard upgrade parts.... what can one expect in terms of performance? Richard..... size matters.... shrink that video :D
  10. Guys, is there a take down guide available for the SCAR L? I'm itching to add an E6 M100 to it and some other upgrades....
  11. That's a superb job you've done there Druid.... top workmanship skills fella.....
  12. Nice one fella, you won't look back.... and I expect you'll have a big grin after you've played with it...
  13. Akira, your photo of your gun is gonna give me an Airsoftgasm,,,,
  14. Damn, this look good.. And it's only about £33 plus shipping... blimey! http://www.x-fire.org/scar/e.real_outer_cqc.html
  15. Thanks... Saw the post earlier, now that I read through all the posts... Played some CQB with the L the other weekend and have decided that the barrel is a tad too long... May need to fork out of the Laylax barrel, but at $70 plus shipping i'm wondering if it's worth the $... Suddenly the hacksaw is looking like a viable cheap alternative...
  16. My Masada has been gathering dust, no idea if i'm ever gonna skirmish with it again. Even brought the CQB barrel and the metal hand guard on a whim coz I thought they looked nice...lol
  17. A question for Richardy... I have a spare unused E6 M110 spring lying around. If I cut off a coil or two could I use that in my SCAR to try and get the speed below the magic 350fps? I haven't even used to spring so i'm not sure what it would chrono at?
  18. One strange thing i've noticed with my SCAR is that when I point it upwards after it's been pointed downwards, there seems to be a noise coming from within the gearbox/recoil unit.. almost as if there is a loose spring..... I'm wondering if thats the recoil weight?
  19. Hmmmm, I may have to take the SCAR apart then and apply my magic touch to it... lol Do all the usual SOPMOD gearbox parts fit the SCAR gearbox or are there any parts which are specific to the SCAR itself?
  20. I'm generally running 0.25's but have about about 17000 rounds of 0.2's to finish off first though... lol
  21. I remember the first time I tried to pull off the hop unit from the SOCOM/SOPMOD barrel.... It took some strength to yank it off... I thought at some point I was gonna break it in two..... Marui must superglue them out of the factory...
  22. Super, I need to order a flat nub soft from you then. Can the same soft combo also be used in a SCAR L? If so, then I need 2 soft flat nubs and one soft hop rubber.
  23. Firefly flat nubs. So hard to get hold of. Does anyone have stock of them in the UK?
  24. Had no idea that the inner barrel was only 300mm. I have a spare eagle6 m90 so I'll pop that in first and see what gives. Just to confirm then, a pommy 363mm barrel will take it up the the inner edge of the flash hider?
