  1. In regards to the airseal issue, I have noticed on the CA249 Mk2 and the para version, when upgraded with a spring that is supposed to rate above 450fps it loses power. I had a 500fps spring in a Mk2 and it only chronoed 412fps, same goes with a Para that I worked on. So the airseal issue may not be anything new really.
  2. Got a pic of the cocking tube and barrel assembly?
  3. The TM AUG is no where as heavy has 5kg, my old one with a scope and 10.8v subC battery carved into it was only 4.2kg. A standard TM AUG would be no more than 4kg with battery and scope. I also happen to have assembled 2 full metal G3s in the past using old heavyweight CA bodies, battery and stock marui mechs and they were only 4.3kgs heavy balanced around the centre while the front felt empty. Quite disappointing weight and balance wise and the QC was horrible back then. I certainly hope they have improved it, say with a nice thick steel/aluminium alloy outer barrel to improve the
  4. Question is: How do you add the mag catch guard onto the R85A1? Having used the Academy and the G&G L85A1 the mag dropping issue annoys me (like the FAMAS mag issue). What makes me not want to get it is essentially just that small detail.

Took one apart today. OOTB, the gun wasn't feeding and that wasn't good. Basically most of you have listed most of the pros and cons of this gun, but with 11 years of airsoftsmithing experience I would like to point/reinforce a few points. - The design was done very well. Structurally very sound/rigid. - The plastic is tough, much tougher than marui but the finish is poorer. - Metal is a direct cast with straight painting but no postprocessing. - Missing the spring that pushes the hop unit back, hence not sealing the air against the mechbox. - The mechbox
  6. Ok, anyone tried using it in the rain?
  7. Can one confirm that the boxmag made of cardboard?
  8. Solid, not water proof unless you find an Oring to put in the empty groove thats on the scope. Holds zero fine though I never tested how accurate it is exactly cos I had a little CQBR. It has the same internal optics design as the real one, except for illuminated crosshairs. Has a very short eye relief. In theory It should take recoil. I took mine apart for fun. Problem with mine (1st gen version) was that the QD mounts were not casted correctly and hence the scope was tilted to the right, which means if I use the crosshair as a point of reference the BBs would curve left. 9. Actually I checked 3 more and yeah they have the same problem. Airseal between the hop and mechbox is not there.
  10. Well I received an ICS AK74M from a friend to tune and review. It has not been as smooth as you guys. Serial is: 2600302 OOTB its only going 220fps. There was some problem with the barrel mounted 3mm too far forward hence the hop up was not engaging against the mechbox, hence no airseal. After I added some washers to the hop mounting to push it back towards the mechbox, it shot 313fps. Not bad. Accuracy was disappointing, with no hop it hooked up and to the left. With Hop on the gun was shooting high and left again. The motor was a ICS turbo 2000, it made a hig
  11. Nice review I played with the STAR one a few weeks ago. From a guy that has fired a Minimi, the gun is a bit disappointing. Lacks the weight of the real one, but more importantly lacks the clic-clack of the cocking handle when it means business. I was not pleased to not be able to flip open the feed tray cover and slap it down. The plastic made me think twice. From an airsofter's point of view its nice. Its solid and functional, Box mags works well, and the stock is solid (though its not to my liking). ROF is normal, on the low side I thought (possibly because it had
