  1. Firstly - that is a lovely-looking gun. Secondly - fundamentally, yes, real-steel SIG Sauer P226 grips will fit TM's replica. However, both the grips and the TM will require some modification: The TM P226 bulks up its weight with a pot-metal mainspring housing which is much larger than the real thing. To fit real-steel grips, simple replace this mainspring housing with the real SIG Sauer part. It is a drop-in fit, and requires very, very slight modification (removal of a small bar) with a knife; takes about 20 seconds. The TM P226, having a plastic frame, secures its grip screws inside brass
  2. Has anyone ever tried using a multi-kg barbeque cylinder as a propane source?

Probably achievable. Just incredibly difficult to manage. You would need some kind of bracket to mount it to a wall I would imagine. After you worked out the details of fill connectors.

Mine have handles on that mean I think I can just sit them upside down on them. The fill connector will be a bit more complex, but not overly so - just scavenge one end from a defunct BBQ, the tubing from similar, and then the other end from a 'can... Hmm...

My local site used to do this. 13kg propane cylinder mounted upside down with a bit of pipe in order to make the nozzle accessable. worked really well, in fact i'm thinking of doing it myself!

Considering 6kg of propane is less than the price of 1.4kg or propane...

  3. Going to pick mine up tomorrow. Yay! Will have the suppressor, the threaded outer barrel, and the real-steel mainspring seat as well.
  4. So if offered the choice, the KSC one is the one to get?
  5. Love the dual-wielding, and noise! I read the thread, but for clarity - the KWA one has the FRP body, right? Which version of the KWA has the best trades?
  6. NonEx ended up going with a BSA Deerhunter, I think. Can't you get RS stocks secondhand in Poland? Some of the guys on another forum bought secondhand (genuine) Ruger target stocks for not very much - like $50. EDIT: Ninja'd. Damn!
  7. Who treats a Prime kit like that? Those were almost $400 new.
  8. Aluminium's a bit of a tricky one. Theoretically it should be fine, but in practice I wouldn't in case the fitting process has damaged the sealant layer of the finish. If you want to clean it, just wash it up like you would a dirty pan. Soak it in warm water and Fairy liquid, and then wash it up using a sponge (not the scrubbing type) and you should be golden. Also - take before and after pictures!
  9. Hah! I concur, that does kinda suck. I think I could get over it given the $540 decrease from the projected price, though.
  10. I don't know why - I'm guessing there are reasons we don't know rather than them selecting TM at random. Maybe the dimensions of System-7 guns are hard to accommodate, or maybe KSC won't cooperate. Where's the hex on the 1911? On the sights?
  11. What's your shot-to-shot consistency like?
  12. I'd fit the light as well as possible without the rear plate, take a file to the inside of rear plate until it fits flush. The P114C is more or less obsolete, so you might as well make it fit properly for that gun.
  13. Fired the XDM a couple of times indoors - blowback is savage and I also worried for the long-term health of the slide. What does the Detonator slide weigh?
  14. Gonna give ESC a buzz tomorrow regarding some non-1911 parts (gasp), nice to see that he's doing good work. Love the pistol, but I really don't like that magwell bumper. Is it really that hard to get mags in the first time?
  15. If it's the NSW one, it must be. I like it, but I hate the screwed mounting solution for the Surefire. It just looks.. bodged.
  16. I thought making them off-spec was deliberate, so that Daniel Defence wouldn't have its potential customers grabbing the airsoft ones and saving themselves $200?
  17. Looks pretty good anyway! I can see how you'd make that mistake.
  18. So sorely tempted by one of these that I shot off an e-mail to Ironwood Designs regarding their SG2000, which is a real-steel chassis for the real 10/22. What do we think? I think with the longer straight mags, if it will accept them, it should look absolutely pimp. She has; CNC'd and anodized frame. CNC'd walnut fittings. Adjustable overtravel/backlash trigger. Internal & external barrel clamps. Twin-turret Picatinny scope mounts. Pricey, though - more expensive than the real-steel Sage EBR Mod.0 stock. Hmmm... [EDIT]Says that it only takes 'factory' 10rnd 10/2
  19. They called it the Toyota War for a reason, y'know. A Defender would look a bit top-heavy with two of those cannons on top, but then again surplus Defenders are so cheap you could probably buy one for each gun. That said, I am REALLY feeling the Jeep J8 Light Patrol...
  20. Dual-mount the suckers on a Toyota technical, African conflict-styley. Lovely guns.
  21. Oil is a temporary solution - to stop it oxidising you need to deny it access to oxygen. Best bet for that is to polish up to the shiniest you can get it, and then clearcoat it. Plenty of places sell little spraycans of gloss/matt/satin clear varnish, which should protect it properly.
  22. I'm always happy to see in-depth reviews of pistols - please, it might be that the reason we're not hurling questions your way is because you've answered all of them!
  23. Very nice, been playing a bit of Silent Assassin today (a game as old in computer terms as that WA is in pistol terms) and the 92FS just looks right, somehow. Is that running a CO2 mag? I've seen a steel slide for the KJW reviewed by RA-Tech, would make a good cheap winter gun if I got it engraved properly... Hmmm... Cheers for the renegadecow, that is a lovely pistol.
  24. A few more details? What's it made of and what does it weigh? Any idea just how old 'old' is?
  25. Those are awesome - how much work did you have to do to the insides?
