  1. Hey now scoob, 2 PACAs is just greedy... To rectify this I suggest you send me one.
  2. Yeah, same. Going in kit as part of a registered group, but not in the arena (as usual for us, really).
  3. If the real guys don't have a problem with it then I can't see an issue You going to Beltring again this year, man? Looks like a few of us will be down there this year as Living History guys.
  4. Depends how you look at it. It's not a big deal to me, but I don't think I'd do it personally, even in re-enactment. Meh, each to their own.
  5. I'd really lose the 101st patches, man. You didn't earn them (at least, I guess you didn't!) and it's kinda bad form. Besides that, I like the look. Almost makes me want my Thompson back.
  6. Nice find, man. There's one on LF.net at the moment that I'd snag if I had the cash... They look like nice vests, expecially for woodland.
  7. Only problem with the headgear setup is the goggles. I LOVE my A-Frames, don't get me wrong, but it was HOT that day. The goggles have a fleecy lining on the frame, which absorbs sweat nicely. It's great normally, but after a few hours of quite fast urban gaming, it becomes saturated, and it just itches. It itches and itches and ITCHES. I decided to use my Oakley Canteens in woodland the following day and they were fine, and it made a nice chance from the sweat itching on my face...
  8. Hence the almost working...
  9. Taken at Operation: Morning After 2... First and last are in woodland, the rest are in urban. It was good in urban, but TERRIBLE in woodland (as expected, frankly). Click to enlarge... Note how the ACUs almost work in that last photo... Let me know if the enlarging links are broken, as I've never linked through to devART before. Oh, and I know the first one isn't much bigger when resized - it's from a different set of photos.

  11. Ok, not quite everywhere It's ribbed for her (or his, I guess ) pleasure, too
  12. For the money, I think it's a good piece of kit. It's something I'd like to never really have to use, but if I need to, I carry it every day so I'll have it anyway. It's legal self-defence (as legal as it can be, anyway), emergency money, emergency light, and emergency warmth. Seems like a good deal for something I can ALWAYS carry
  13. Nah. I've made that one before
  14. Aw hell naw UE Grey is beatiful If I'm gonna take a knee, I'll drop onto my right knee 99.9% of the time (I busted my left knee a few years back and it still hurts to kneel on it). Thus I keep that pad in place. There's one on the left in case I need it, but it's less restrictive if it's down there. If I need it I can always yank it up - it only takes a few seconds
  15. Not based on any specific unit, but here we go. Looks like a general 5th SFG (A) or SEALs type thing, I suppose - call it what you wish KITLIST: Roughly head to toe... 16. Point is, you should be able to do it all you like without the damn thing snapping off
  17. Not legally you won't Illegal to import, sadly, although to my knowledge not illegal to own as long as you don't carry it. A shame really, as they're lovely knives indeed. Microtech do make the occasional non-auto model, so keep an eye out - they may make something similar to the Halo 3 but non-auto if you keep your eyes peeled I know one member of these forums has one under his LE license and I am most jealous
  18. Strider are increasingly making fixed blades with G10 handles now (or the SLCC, which had no handle material, per se). My DB-L NSN has grooved G10 handles and it's an absolute beauty. Very grippy even when wet (tried it, didn't mean to ) and when covered in blood, apparerently (not tried it, never mean to ). Keep an eye out on the various Strider dealers' sites - there are some super deals about if you look, especially on some of the more limited blades (like my DB-L NSN, one of 100, cost no more than a regular DB-L), and many of them now come with G10 grip slabs as opposed to cord-wrappi
  19. Yeah, maybe the G&G will feel as good compared to the STAR as their version of the L85
  20. I wonder this too. Does it have the quick-change spring system of the other STARs, or am I gonna have to strip it all down as soon as I get it to switch the spring out? I watched Heat again last night (fatal...) so guess what my next AEG may very well be
  21. I came when I saw your RAVs, and I just came again

  23. They're all completely different. The Liberator-IIs are active hearing defendes with comms built in - they amplify ambient sounds, cut out dangerously loud ones, and quieten the ambient noise when radio broadcasts come in via comms. If you want a 'cheap' option, you're gonna have to get a Bowman PRR system and run a pair of Peltor Comtacs over the top of them (it should work - the PRR is designed to have hearing defenders over it). It's going to be a bit clumsy, though, and the Comtacs 'clip' the ambient noise much more than the Sordins used in the Liberator-IIs. You can also get a p
  24. Lookin' slick, doc! Not seen a new loadout from you for aaaages... Yep, MP5 mags in there. I tried just now, and you can get 4 in there (maybe more, at a squeeze) in a square, 2x2. I run mine in a stack, 3x1. Makes the draw easier, and the shock cord stops them flapping about too much anyway. It sticks out a bit, but if you go prone for long it flattens itself out to a 'triangle' of 3 mags anyway. It self-arranges, in effect, which is nifty. I have 10 mags in total (all STARs). 3 in each pouch and one in the gun - simple
  25. TCI Liberator-II. Brand new from TCI (the only place to get a new one), you're looking at $625 plus shipping (assuming you don't have a valid MIL/LEO ID). In the very, very unlikely case of you finding a second-hand one, you'll have to either make sure it's wired for your radio connection, or sent the PTT section back to TCI to get it rewired. Or buy a new PTT altogether. Worth every penny, though Tactical Tailor M4 triples, in tan Dead cheap and the best rifle mag pouches I've used
