  1. Yeah, also loads of exposed rails kinda damage themselves over rough use over time if you don't put even more weight (for rail covers) on it.. keymod aren't bad, but due to its design you get funny looking shapes, that's why I prefer M-Lok, especially if coupled with the Kinect system if convenience is a huge factor.
  2. Are you sure that not's just measuring the spray of green gas instead of the bb?
  3. A bit of old schoolness, GHK M4 with Ghost Island steel M9, hogue grips on both guns!
  4. ... did you seriously come on the ar15 variants and derivatives thread to say it's boring...
  5. Thanks! I definitely need to get some scorch marks on it (like the KardeN images), not entirely sure whether I should go with aluminium black or just put some black spray paint on a rag, rub it a few times then blow torch it. hitman what do you mean by May? It's a GHK AKS74u: RS wood upper handguard RS Bakelite pistol grip (I bought the Zenitco one but I prefer the look and feel of the original grip!) Zenitco B11 lower Handguard Zenitco B-16 Rail extension Zenitco 2P Klesh light Zenitco RK-0 foregrip Belomo PK01-Vi red dot (with TSL-02 laser) Zenimei (Taiwanese clone) PT-1
  6. Hope nobody minds the double post, WE based Ghost Island steel M9.
  7. I noticed a few here have the PEQ14 on the HK45, I found a perfect solution imo for holsters. This is the Fobus holster designed for Glock 21 which has a thicker slide. The gun slides in / out without any issue, it's a really good fit with no wobble, and I can re-holster and engage the lock with one hand, pretty pleased with it! Hope this helps!
  8. For what it's worth, the clamp mechanism of mine has snapped off, the metal parts, instead of being one solid casted piece, is actually glued together, I managed to break it by turning it hard on the rail, by hand... lol I'm sure I can glue it back on / maybe even drill some small holes to secure it by threading and screwing, but... man.
  9. Err, I have mixed feelings for their AKs because the cons are more than the pros. They are quite expensive, but unlike other higher end options out there such as VFC / E&L / Real Sword / LCT, they aren't made out of steel due to it being TM, which for me is quite important for AKs. They also use proprietary magazines, unlike the SCAR / AR next-gen models, do not cut off firing after the last round. The only pro I guess is that it has a little recoil weight above the gearbox, like their next-gen G36, but I'm not sure that one feature is enough to win over the other options on the market
  10. it's like a stream of abstract conciousness.
  11. I just read my comment again and it made no sense, regarding the recoil weight, I said "there's a stock and a barrel between you and it", I meant, "stock and battery".
  12. I own the next gen M4, HK416, Scar and HK417. I'd say the 416 is the best imo. But apples and oranges really, if you want the FN SCAR model, then this is a great option. (edit. The reason why I think the 416 is the best is because they did a few internal upgrades, mainly added pieces to stablise the gearbox position and the hop unit, while I'm not sure it's necessary, it looks like it makes sense, it also has an ambi switch unlike the M4. The recoil feel of AR style models are much better than the Scar, probably due to the fact that the weight is moving back and fourth right into your shou
  13. Yeah that's right, I have the non CQC version and ended up having the barrel cut off and re-threaded, I put on a RA-Tech steel front outer barrel WE scar for the days when I feel like using a full size rifle..

    WE XDM

Yeah, it was a video I posted ages ago, it's usually the example I send when people doubt the skirmishability of steel slide pistol on green gas, the "new" (not that new anymore) TM nozzles with the wider diameters allows for super awesome performance with heavier slides, so new guns like HK45 also performs that well (if not a little better) on steel slide.

    WE XDM

Power up as well, the gun is still running good after almost 2 years.

    WE XDM

I still swear by the Wii-tech XDM metal nozzle which I've installed for my RA-Tech v TM steel slide pistol, I've tried every other nozzle on the market and none of them was able to produce the recoil performance I got with that nozzle..
  17. Slight necro, finally got around to trying to make this gun skirmish friendly, the restrictor disc from fg-airsoft takes the gun from 380 fps to around 320, which is very cqb healthy for the UK. http://fg-airsoft.com/en/nozzles-and-related/163-barrel-reinforcement-for-ghk-pdw-.html (err their link's url looks wrong, but it links to the correct product) Their estimated % reduction is way off, the white ring took the gun down to 230 fps, where as the black one took it down to 320-330, I think I'll probably apply the blue one to a 400+ fps WE MP5 which hopefully will bring it down to
  18. Thanks, yeah it was a professional job, it's possible to DIY at home but it'd take a lot of will, but if you have a lot of space, like a garage workshop or something it's probably feasible. You still have to bake it but considering the curing temperature of Cerakote is about 150°c max, most home ovens can do it provided it's big enough. It was a GHK AK105 that has been completely brutalised, the Russian style side mount was taken off and the holes were weld filled, the barrel was a Samoon steel barrel chopped down, with a steel CNC Bolton gas block that I made with the help of dimensions
  19. I'm pretty sure I pm'd you like 2 years ago for dimensions for that gas block and you got me started on the 3D model before finally having it CNC'd
  20. It's been ages since this built began and it's still quite a long way away from being finished, it currently has no internals, but after receiving all the parts after getting them Cerakote'd I couldn't resist putting it together for some pics!
