  1. Hello, sorry for a slight thread jacking, but you might end up getting a free metal upgrade part for the SCAR so please have a look and help! http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/209407-open-offer-to-all-tm-recoil-scar-l-owners-measurements-needed/
  2. Since my loading nozzle broke with the first magazine... and KWA blanked me when I told them about it, I thought I should mention this pieces of "news"... http://www.airsoftglobal.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=634_1053&products_id=16712
  3. I'm going to watch that film just to see how they're going to justify that massive thing on top it's made by the district 9 lot, they aren't that sloppy... their gun research for the that film was pretty decent.
  4. Can someone rationalise what that thing is? I understand that it's entirely plausible that AKs are being used in 2154... but that's laser sight is bigger than the one Schwarzenegger used in Terminator 1 in the 80s...
  5. Nooooooo.. mine's coming on Monday... was hoping it'd be a drop fit, oh well, nothing a workshop can't fix (hopefully)! Thanks for letting us know anyway.
  6. I thought the whole point of RS is that it's a GB crammed into a Norinco receiver.. if you saw the pictures above... they really are identical, they feel the same, everything is exactly the same, it's basically an AEG made in the Norinco factory.. but in short... yes, it will, RS redesigned the GB so that it would be a drop fit into a real steel receiver.
  7. what power is it shooting.. what battery is it using?
  8. You're welcome, watch this space. http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forums/index.php?/topic/208323-arriving-march-2013-btc-spectre-fet-for-v2-v3-and-tm-next-gen-v2-gearboxes/ BlackTalon (the designer) is on there, so he's answered many questions before and gives us updates on that thread. I've asked whether the unit would fit the SCAR-L too, and he thinks they "should" work without any issues.. and since I'll be getting one for the SOPMOD, I will put it on the SCAR-L as a test to see if they truly are compatible, I really can't wait, the next-gen platform is great, hard to go back to sta
  9. For what it's worth, I own both the SOPMOD and the SCAR-L, I've ran the SOPMOD on 11.1v for a little, I pretty much play on semi only as the organisers I go with run an ammo limit. But my reasons for stopping 11.1v was due to the erosion of the contacts, while Echigoya do replacement, it just didn't seem to be necessary. As for the recoil weight not catching up, there are faster return spring available for them, so I don't see that causing any issue, I will be switching to 11.1v for better trigger response (which by the way, isn't bad on a 7.4v) but only after BTC's release for their Spectre m
  10. I kinda went f it and bought it anyway, since it's meant to work with WE scar which I also own, the worst is I put it on there if it won't fit the TM SCAR-L, will keep you all updated on here.
  11. I have an issue with some of these "all steel" business, especially when it's the internals, I think it's about time airsoft evolves to a point where manufacturers tell us what grade steel it is exactly, showing footage of magnets sticking to parts means they are ferrous, soft casting iron can be demonstrated as steel in those "tests"... my RA-Tech steel bolt carrier for WE SCAR no longer locks bolt to the rear because the catching part on the bolt is completely worn off despite it being "steel".
  12. I have the Laylax rail, to be honest I hate the look of it, so I'll be getting the PWS version later, the way the Laylax version works is it replaces the front rails, so provided they are in the same location with the same screw distances... it should work.. but I have no idea if those are the same. :S
  13. Same problem I had, posted on the last page as well, don't think replacements are easy to come by, not to mention it will break again the same way.. I'm working with someone who's going to send me some measurements, which I'll then have some aluminium versions CNC'ed... Marui plastic... surely they could have seen that coming, there are so many bits sticking out on the SCAR they should have used slightly better materials. *sorry, too excited, responded before reading your full message... lucky you for finding a replacement! I might send them an email so I can get a spare myself, measure it
  14. Well to be honest Sonny, if the part breaks, it's going to break again, you might have more luck waiting yet a little longer for 3rd party upgrades.. my loading nozzle broke during my first mag, but after all this is airsoft, expecting things to work the first time and last forever is pure fantasy... as the saying doesn't go, if it's not broke, fix it before it breaks another part.
  15. Great thanks! Seems pretty promising! Probably the best option for anyone who wants an M3 AEG at the moment? Especially with no battery in the magazine, Ares needs to hire someone who's not crazy to design their guns... first the magazine battery, now their new sniper rifle which doesn't feed unless the magazine is full initially.. Please post pictures after you've weathered it! would be great for ww2 / afganistan milsim!
  16. Any chance for a magnet demonstration to show what material's at where? Thanks!
  17. I still haven't broken my OEM loading nozzle, and I used it extensively through summer on propane, but due to many people saying that it will break, I panicked and eventually swapped it out with WII-Tech aluminium nozzle, while arguable controversial, I found it to perform absolutely amazingly, especially for a long period I had the RA-Tech / SDP steel slide on, which put a lot of extra pressure on the nozzle, but the OEM is still standing, even when I had initially used it on the steel slide... so I suspect it could be a batch problem where people had slightly more fragile ones..
  18. Don't even speak to me about pre-ordering guns and failing as a result, I am one of the few who's been brutally raped by Airsoftpanda over the AS Val.. I just can't help it...
  19. Last time I visited ehobby in HK they had a Kriss out in the open for any one to test shoot, I was told they went through 3 guns because after a while, all the guns' 2rd burst stopped working, the guy said the "gear" had stripped, so it looks like it's an inevitable issue until someone releases good quality internals... while I know they are already ferrous metal, it might not necessarily mean it's good quality steel... my nozzle exploded on the first day, I don't really think the QC of this gun was the greatest.. but I'm sure lots of 3rd party goodness are to follow sooner or later.
  20. ummm... i haven't actually looked at my manual properly, the image i posted was from the internet, I just added the circle. really strange that they seem to have different codes? anyway, it looks like this gun isn't very robust, atleast compared to the sopmod counter part which I've dropped... fallen on top of... dragged... run into a wall with... and still hasn't shown any signs of breaking
  21. I was hoping a Japanese user might be able to assist me (or anyone who is able to!), I recently got a next-gen TM scar, the folding stock "clip" broke after my first game using it.. , mind you it was a particularly rough game that involved getting in and out of off road vehicles quickly while being shot at. From my understanding it's quite possible to acquire parts directly from Tokyo Marui for those who are in Japan, and the part I'm after is the SCAR-3, I'd be happy to pay up front including the postage from Japan to the UK with a reasonable "trouble fee".. here's the part I'm after on the m
  22. Well, mine broke before I could finish one mag, dodgy nozzle... and my friend's was venting badly, granted it was 2 degree, tricked by the sunny day thinking it was going to be warm... not even close.
  23. Yeah I can't stand airsoft manufacturers getting creative and releasing monstrous furniture for guns they release.. (hello WE... G&G... ICS...), at least the PDR is being developed and could potentially be released one day..
  24. Meh this much for a wall hanger, I'll get a VFC UMP wall hanger instead thank you very much.
  25. Thanks renegadecow, I've got some plastruct (they are abs I think) with araldite and piano wires at home, will give it a go and see how it holes up! will probably drill two holds to stop it from rotating.. will post picture when I find time to fix it!
