  1. That's pretty nice, get the extended slide stop and replace that grip safety though! Also the mag release should be checkered, and you should be running traditional A1 mags, not the Wilson type. As for the super expensive kits, I know they are pricey, but accuracy is nice. If you want to run "stuff that just works" then you can make do with pretty much anything. If I'm a big fan of certain gun I'm gonna want to run an as-close as possible when playing. Fox
  2. For sure Mike! Here you go (keep in mind you can build a much nicer gun if you want to drop more cash for the steel bits and not have to mod stuff yourself): Base guns: - ARMY R27 (MEU) Frame - KJW MEU slide (I wanted this one in particular because of the untraded slide, I might add the serial number for a Drake slide in the future.) Modified parts: - I polished the sides of the slide with up to 2500 sandpaper, and also polished inside the front serrations. - Polished A1 grip safety Dremeled into the an slightly extended "Ducktail" type. - I pinned down the grip safety, so it is always off
  3. K, so I had posted this build before, but I've changed a lot of stuff around (including the frame). So now it's much closer to the original, admitedly missing a few of the parts that just can't be bought or easily modded. But for the most part it's all there. I also know that LaZouche did this gun less than a year ago I think, but I wasn't particularly happy with a lot of the plastic parts and mods he used, I would much rather have a slightly incorrect, but full metal, solid parts gun. That's not to say he did not do a great job still though with the tough bits of this build. So here's my
  4. So what's the general consensus so far? From what I could read, it's kind of been another flop in the GBBR department by VFC :-/ Shame because I would absolutely drool over a G28 if they ever make one, but VFC kinda screams unreliability so far. Fox
  5. 1.5 J is 400 FPS (with .20s). Carbine kit with the stock nozzle and stock barrel should get you there. I've run it no probs with a 1.25-5X VisionKing scope that has such an awesome eye relief that it can double as a red dot (kind of like the S&B ShortDot).
  6. Nope. There's a RedWolf Airsoft video where they leave the mag in the freezer overnight and then the gun chronoes consistently right after taking the mag out (alas understandably at lower FPS), the mag being well below the 0ÂșC mark (about -5 to -10). I'm looking at the 400 mark. Although I'm pretty sure this has to do with it being winter over here, and I'll be spot on in the summer. I have two receivers and I share the bolt carrier, so it's quite difficult to get those 330 FPS for CQB on the lower and around 400 FPS for field on the upper with the same guts (just different bucking and bar
  7. Gun is still running beastly. Keeps running very well in the cold, even on full auto. I'm having trouble getting the gun at the FPS I want though. I'm running the carbine kit and an aftermarket barrel (so I had to get the 1J nozzle), and the thing won't vary FPS very much, even with longer/smaller diameter barrels than the stock one (with the stock nozzle the FPS jump sky high with a longer after market barrel). However, I run it as a DMR type of gun, so I use .40s, and to really hop them beautifully you need AT LEAST 350 FPS and a decent bucking. Then again, if you run .30s and under, you
  8. Yeah, but my point was changing the barrel and/or hop bucking. If you want to leave the gun absolutely stock, it'll shoot 340-360, yes.
  9. Depends. But the gun does tend to go dangerously close to 400s FPS with a good inner barrel/bucking combo. And around the 450s if you run it with the carbine kit. So it really depends on your field limits.
  10. Yeah, I just got the nozzle installed and the gun's working fine. It's just not a very intuitive design, and it's different on WAs (you actually push the guide in on those), and WEs (they have a little screw and come off). Anyway, I'm more chilled now, I just had to rant somewhere, I hate breaking parts, but I was really mad at that assembly. It also didn't help that I couldn't find any guides online. Thanks!
  11. Guys, has anyone installed the 1J nozzle, or just removed the nozzle from the bolt carrier? I had a pretty ###### day, but I wanted to swap the stock nozzle out, and I couldn't figure how to take it out of the bolt carrier! The guides WON'T.COME.OFF. I don't see a way of removing them. They can't be removed inwards, and they can't be removed outwards, I pulled the ###### out of the nozzle out and just broke everything. That's how ###### I was. And even now, I can't figure it out. The nozzle was pretty hardy, so I used a screwdriver and mangled the bolt carrier a bit too I'm really mad wit
  12. Did you soak the orings individually? There's no way it doesn't work pretty much. But try replacing the o-ring then (and the new one, have it soaked in silicone). Also, make sure the valve is well tight.
  13. Or just soak the o-rings in silicone oil for a day. It'll probably do the trick. Fox
  14. Well, didn't you write back to Umarex telling them you tried the product with their ###### gas and BBs and it still didn't work? And to the shop that you did all these tests, and that you'd like to know if it's possible to arrange them testing the gun in person with you? Dude, you gotta screw over lying dumbs like these. Not just come complain here on Arnies!
  15. As mentioned in this thread, I've had issues with (even new) buckings breaking (on *three* G5s), and I've come to the conclusion it has to do with dry firing, as all three guns, after not doing any more dry firing, haven't shredded a bucking yet (might be just chance). Might make sense since to dry fire the gun you actually have to remove the bolt catch (no dry firing option like on the mags of WE guns). Anyway, as for the DMR kit, I don't actually have it (I have a carbine kit). I just tried an inner of the same length on my gun. The kit is the same as the carbine one except a longer inne
